March 11, 20251 yr We would have been just fine with Steen last season if Becton never arrived. But always love the depth. So looks like we’re doing it again. Have Steen cross trained at LG and RG. I’ve been leaning towards wanting to take the NC St kid as the backup at RT. Could bring back Fred Johnson to swing at T. Steen can play T though…so maybe he gets even more training to just be the all around swing backup at everything. Anybody goes down? Steen comes in.

It was rumored Nolan wasn’t healthy all his rookie season…but he didn’t really play..until like the last game. It’s been really his only red flag since being a draft prospect. He did have a great one season this past year…and played through the injuries. But it still feels very relevant to me.
March 11, 20251 yr You can’t really say for sure…but I thought they were saving Nolan to let his body heal up his rookie season. That’s why he wasn’t in the rotation. I mean really…first round pick should be in the rotation at least.
March 11, 20251 yr So after having a whole season off to heal up his body and have it as fresh as possible he made it through this season. I believe there is a correlation involved there. We’ll see. I’m not trying to be negative…it just was the pretty universal knock on him as a draft prospect. He’s extremely dedicated hard worker that will reach his potential otherwise.

March 11, 20251 yr idk i dont really concern myself with a guys durability until they show they have issues like Dean he concerns me he has a track record of getting hurt but Nolan has played

Both Georgia guys I like…but just feel it’s a concern. Both are dedicated natural leaders. I really like them both. Just my personal gut feeling questions them both on the durability front. They work hard and guys you want in the locker room and on the field. Both guys will do everything within their power to become the best players that they have control over. They can’t control the durability factor unfortunately…has nothing to do with them being out of shape or any knock on them like that.

March 11, 20251 yr If/when Nolan starts to miss games then we can have talks about his durability but until then really no concern. 33/34 games in two years pretty sure the only game he missed is when we sat our starters v the giants last year… that impressive for a smaller DE
March 11, 20251 yr I have more concerns for Jalen Hurts durability then I do Nolan and my concerns over Jalen injuries is fairly low

Go ahead and break down the D snaps Nolan took his rookie season. Hint: won’t take you long.

March 11, 20251 yr Can anyone please tell me where the CJ trade makes sense? Green basically sucks, played 27 games and started 23 as of 2024. In his rookie season, he allowed 47 quarterback pressures and committed 12 penalties.

March 11, 20251 yr Nolan Smith play 188 snaps 16% on defense as a rookie and 245 ST snaps or 55% as a rookie in 2023 clearly the #4 DE behind BG/Sweat/Reddick Hunt this year 23% of snaps 52% of ST snaps and he became the #3 edge after BG got hurt

Watch Smith Nolan miss a game this year...and the big "I was the only one concerned about this...etc " Meanwhile Hurts missed 5 games

Heard it was cap reasonings want to free up more cap space to lock up our core guys later plus they seem to like Sydney Brown and want to see what he can due.

Doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand that this was a factor in Nolan not playing more snaps.
