There was an article about us trading a pick for Tremble from NC. I like him,he's not terrible and a vet now

Hard for him to get stats when he stayed back to block for the Swiss cheese Oline

It's  great time of the year for the local Philadelphia fans.

Why? Haven’t watched any other Philly teams but watching sportcenter the Sixers have underperformed AGAIN, the Flyers are better, but not good enough to go far. Phillies? Sorry. I don’t even pay attention on sportcenter to that boring sport. Fun to play. Awful to watch.

I’ve been super busy but a friend said Fletcher Cox retired. How the heck did I miss that? Did I miss that? Yikes!

One other thing, Hurts?…I happily ate my words for the 2022 season. He played outstanding.

He got paid, then seemed to play to not get hurt AND regressed as a passer in 2023. Cunningham, as big a fan as you are of Hurts, can you objectively see where he could be the reason the team does not progress?
I also lost almost all faith in Sirianni. You see the strength of a coach when things start to go bad. Not only was he incapable of stopping the bleeding, the team found its jugular. The playoff loss after a 10-1 start with no major injuries from star players was inexcusable. I thought he should have been fired then. Instead he doesn’t fight for either coordinator to save his job. Cowardly. Lost all respect for him. It will be interesting to see how 2024 fairs. Barkley should help….IF he can stay healthy. The defense couldn’t possibly be worse. Man I hope the Eagles have a stellar draft this year.

Well we made post season,(and no I don't want to talk about the thrashing in TB again) so Siri is a bit passive to me,but rarely do we know what goes on behind the scenes. Lurie makes those calls and after the complete collapse not much Siri could say to defend the play. You need all 3 coaches to be on the same page. I think making the change during the season was a BAD move, but what do I know? Now we have a proven guy who is for a more open(aka passing) offense. Very few fireworks last year. Fans love fireworks, and although the slow grind can work, you need to have both IMO AND know when to use each style.I'm not a fan of taking my foot off the gas,but it does at times work. Hopefully we will see more offense then the tush push which is/was basically a rugby scrum(maybe Mailiata's idea? Hmmm, topic for another day. Hard to deny Hurts 600 pound leg press(I did 450 in HS,now 45 is a chore getting old sucks).I want Hurts to be and NFL QB now,not a RB who can throw. I suppose it depends now on who makes the play calls. I kind of miss Ped,he wasn't afraid to try new things. Siri would never have agreed to the Philly Special play 🤣.Bark is a nice RB. The great thing here is he doesn't need to be the entire offense like he was in NY. No need for him to be on the field for 3 downs. Sometimes he will be,other times he can rest with Gains in relief and lord I want to see Hurts PASS THE BALL and I mean against GOOD defenses. I agree Hurts regressed. played like a 2nd year Pee Wee in the girls league. I don't want to see that BS again. We gave hurts all the tools last year and he hogged the ball. I don't want to see that BS either. Howie had to replace a few of those tools,so again there are no excuses for Hurts. Blank should be better than last year and we need previous draft picks to step up their game. The learning curve for them is over, now they need to step up and be men. Let's see if Slay plays up to his ability again.. We need some top defensive draft picks now and this is a stellar draft to get them. Add a TE2 and a rookie slot guy, then we can lose or retain either Parker or Paris, but one can go away. All eyes are on Hurts now. I'm back to my 31 PPG goal(yes I understand if it/s 24-0 with 2 mins left in the 4th there is no reason to hit the gas) but otherwise I want to see scoring. last year we were 4 PPG short of the previous year. Anxious to see what the new coaches can do. Can't be worse than the end of last year. Very nice offseason moves by Howie. No complaints about the last few drafts. This one should be good as well as long as Howie doesn't make a bonehead first round pick for a punter. Throw a dart at the top 32 and you;ll get a good player.Hard to botch that. 2,2,4 will be where things make a difference, need to nail those(or nail the trades you make) Nice usable players into round 5 this time. Even quality at UDFA's Really an exceptional draft class at about any position. It's on the scouting dept now

It's a great time... The Sixers were playing well before the MVP of the league got hurt and missed about 30 games... now he is back as playoff time starts.

The Flyers have a rebuilding team of young players who weren't expected to do anything, and they are right there fighting for a playoff spot.

The Phillies just started, a team that has really connected with the fanbase the last 2 seasons.

Then the Eagles free agency /draft always peaks interest.

Only thing missing is one of the college basketball teams making a run in March Madness.

You're from where ...the middle of nowhere. Philly area we grew up playing all the 4 major sports, it's a just a different culture.  Probably why you do your races, not growing up in that culture you had to find something else.

Here the sports passion never really stops.  This right now...is always the best time of year...along with the fall when the Phillies are in a playoff run as thr other 3 sports get under way.

Whenever there is something for all 4 teams at once, it's a very fun time.  Probably similar to NY, Boston, Chicago etc.

I think at some point people are going to realize Hurts in 2022... there were a lot of factors as to why he had success...not really due to himself.

1. Schedule was a fluke how easy it was.

2.  There were blown coverages where guys were wide open and then a bunch of jump balls where our WRs made the play.

I didn't see all this " regression " last year in the play....I saw in results for sure, but that's because those 2 things I mentioned from 2022 didn't occur.

Tell me when you saw a guy who looked like a football savant reading defenses ?   He didn't have to do that in 2022.  He didn't regress as much as he just didn't have the fluke things work in his favor.

The TD pass to #13 last year when e stood in the pocket and dropped a dime to his 4th read...he didn't do any of that in 2022.

Parker is 6'3: plus and you're telling me there are no YAC's with him? Seiously? He can't run a 7 yards route like Goedert? I'm buying extra swamp land, just so I cam re-sell it to you

Parker is super low YAC player. Don’t know what to tell you if you can’t understand the difference in running a pattern and making a catch….and being setup to try and create YAC.

If you line Parker up as a receiving TE he can get some yards, but we'd really need to be in dire straits for that. We still have Stoll I believe? And that madman we got from Denver whose name I cannot pronounce LOL

Nope…Stoll is gone

Fletch retiring was a pretty big deal.

No idea what point you’re making with Hurts.

Avante Maddox back on one year deal.

Avonte's only good when he's available. He's missed 29 games in the last 4 yrs. I'll consider it still a position of need.

Mailata extended

Expectations are there are going to be several key vets being dropped or traded after the draft league wide.

Who are the Eagles expected to drop...you know, due to Howie not managing the cap well?

Absolutely..it's a one year deal...shouldn't change any perception of a need.

I’d say he’s positioning himself to grab one or two of these players that come available…is the point.

No,I just got off the bus today lmao. Parker got plenty of YAC's in Miami(remember I lived in FL????)

Regressions I saw from Hurts. 1) Back to the 1 read and panic 2) run for 2 yards and fall down or skip like my Grand daughter out of bounds. Not try to get those valuable 5-8,9,10 more yards he did before after signing for the BIG money 3) Back to lack of vision. On more than 1 occasion receivers were waving their arms in the air and he didn't see them,or he was running out of bounds after his 1 yard gain. Those are free big plays lost 4) Ball hogged at the GL. Rarely using a RB there or a counter play to a TE or WR 5) regressed in reading defenses when he should have improved. 6) PPG dropped by 4 PPG over 2022 when he actually had better offensive(or the same) weapons than previous year Now, I hope he goes back to progressing this year. Sure there were some flukes, but as a NOW highly paid NFL QB we deserve better and he needs to show why we paid him
