He already said multiple times at minimum he plays until the end of 2026. Big reason... he is an only child and the locker room is family to him. He has been healthy these last two years where the ankle was an issue prior. He went right back to the gym after the parade and is already working on next year. This is a guy who loves the process.I'll look at getting a guy in front of Calcaterra ( who is on the last year of his deal) more than a guy to succeed Lane who has 3 more years. Now to me...it doesn't have to be a draft pick... but my original point ... TE should absolutely be addressed and is absolutely a possibility in the draft. To your original post of mentioning all those positions that needed a backup. We brought alot of TE's in. IDK that Goederts replacement isn't already here. We need to sort through those, so IDK if we take a TE at all. My guess is Goedert stays here unless Howie gets a tremendous offer, but why would a team do that when they can just draft their TE? Goedert getting up there in age. If I wanted an immediate plug and play Mayer is the guy for whatever pick Howie deems necessary
April 23, 20251 yr Author At any rate we brought in about every TE there is from 32 through round 5,so no clue what they do about the TE and IDK why we bothered to bring so many in if we were planning on drafting one
April 23, 20251 yr Author "NFL insider Josina Anderson reported earlier this week that the Eagles are shopping Goedert, whose cap hit for the 2025 season sits around $12 million. Anderson said the Eagles hope to get at least a second-round pick for Goedert." SOOOOOOO if we got a 2nd somewhere(once again IDK why a team wouldn't just use that 2nd on a TE) I would be fine with drafting another TE with that pick. Let's see what Howie does tomorrow night. I'm leaning towards Kenneth Grant at DT(Michigan). Consensus has us taking Nolen, but the character issues I don't think we can live with

That was my original point, taking a TE with pick 32 or 64 for a guy who MAY get 1-3 targets per game when they are all "shaky" blockers that need taught. Just seems like a bad investment that high unless you plan on a significant change with the offense passing alot moreYou and I are in complete agreement. If we want a blocking TE then Jackson Hawes from Georgia Tech is the best one in this Draft, and he is reported to be very good.

The other guys might not make the roster.I believe the other guys are a whole lot better than you appear to believe they are.he TE position is crucial on any play, they can always go Jumbo. And if blocking from the TE position is crucial on any play, they can always go Jumbo.

Of course Goedert could go away, so seems like we are hunting a needle in am haystack and hoping we find it. It's pretty messy at TE LOL. if they are all clones it seems to be a problem

April 23, 20251 yr Author So other than the big move(up 6) for Wentz, if Howie moves up it's usually a small lift like 1-2 maybe 3, so any move up should not be too significant. That said Howie said they don't have round 1 grades on 32 guys, so he will move if he thinks we have a shot at one. Kenneth Grant or Shemar Stewart he could move up a few for. IDK just guessing like everyone else

Don't need another MS2/Reagor/Agolor, but the potential is amazing

We did not have him in for a visit. We are picky we want both things. Very hard to find those. I suppose you could pick up Hawes as a situational guy with scattered plays throughout the game. I mean as a UDFA I would bring him in and see what he's got

Which is, nothing set in stone.
April 24, 20251 yr Author Pre draft final round 1 for me...........Although for me a move up for Kenneth Grant would be good I don't believe it's the best use of assets and there are capable DT's later. The TE's are all over the map with no clear consensus as to "who goes where" except for the top 2. Maybe the Eagles would know more, but we/I don't have inside info. They said they don't have 32 players with round 1 grades (Grant could be one of those but is he worth the lift?). So this leaves 2 scenarios for me. We trade back completely out of round 1 which I would do if the offer is excellent(even with the Browns only 1 spot difference(32/33). The other option for me is a guy I like at a position we need and who I would take at either 32 or 33. That is Nic Scourton. If I could move back to 33,grab an extra pick off Cleveland and put Scourton on my team, I would do that. I think he is a better fit than Ezikeratu(sp). And so there it is. Nic Scourton is my pick. Maybe we could move back even further and still get him.How about everyone else?
