We had in most of the TE's who could be around in every round. Just choose wisely as they get 1-3 targets per game with our KISS offense

See all depends on matchups. Can be very key games where it’s a big weapon against that opponent. Get a YAC Creator like Fannin though…he should get his number called for at least three of those each game alone.

But I get that Fannin isn’t the traditional prototype all around TE. Second round…even way back at 64 I do value that pick. I’m greedy…always want more. But really thinking about how any additions add to our team. AJ and Smitty working downfield with our O powered by Saquan. I want guys that can add any differing element to the O.

Have to truly factor in the loss of an inline TE though if we trade Geodart and drafted Fannin…. Geodart was a big part of our ground game success really underrated blocker have to have a replacement in mind if you opt for Fannin especially if we are looking to move him around and use him more as a weapon v the traditional inline TE

Except we pulled Hurts back to 25 passes per game. How many of those are going to the TE?

RG is still a ? so that TE needs to block

Yep it's about fit and/or changing how the offense works

RH we did just trade for former 1st round pick in Green plus just drafted Steen a 3rd rounder… I image we just let Stout develop them one will take the ruins

Still a ? until we know for sure. mayer loves to block and attack not just "hold your ground" He's a perfect replacement IMO. I would trade the 64(since we are talking that pick) for him rather than draft another TE2

Have to wonder if the Eagles would double dip at TE sounds crazy sure but get the weapon in Fannin in round 2… then the GT TE day 3 who regarded as a pretty good blocking TE former Ivy League kid as well started at Yale

Stout is terrific. The OSU C should be a late pick. With him you COULD have RG(even as a BU), but also a BU for Cam. We have NO BU centers unless you pull Dickerson

Have to consider what compensation we could get if we trade out of round 1 which I do think is possible maybe even likely.

After one of my teams wins a championship, I always promise myself I'd buy a jersey of one of my favorite players. Right after the SB win this year, I ordered a Jalen Carter kelly-green jersey. This was back in Feb -- it FINALLY shipped! Should be arriving to me in about a week or so. Going to wear it proudly! GO BIRDS!

Jealous…I want one

Fannin Jr and Mason Taylor both will only be 20 years old come the draft super young guys.

I’d likely lean Taylor just because I prefer the size of him over Fannin… but both projected in rounds 2-3 image of we want either we have to take them at 64

I lean Tayor also, Terrance Ferguson is another. At least he would have the bulk to block. Maybe round 3 for him IDK. As Joe said TE needs addressed we just have different views on how to get there

So take a step back and read this post...

You are listing positions where we need backups.

If we lose Goedert we need the starter... so logically that should tell you it's a priority. I get it, you are focused on the 30 visits...the lines. ... Lane just signed an extension to 2027...but getting his backup has been a mini obsession of yours since the day after last year's draft.

I know it's difficult to change the lines of thought after putting so much time in those ideas.... but we also didn't anticipate how the Goedert situation would go and look like he isn't going to be here ...even this coming season, let alone any extension.

So TE has to be a strong priority or at least a probable pick on Friday.

Seems very likely that we fill the void we are creating from Goedert from this draft class strength position depth wise.

Another thing to consider is the possibility of the top TE slipping in the draft Tyler Warren and Loveland…. Especially Loveland he doesn’t have the same flashy catching game as a Bowers last year or Tyler Warren this year…. Could easily see him fall late 1st or even early 2nd round

I would offer the Raiders the 64 for Mayer if I traded Goedert

IDK you go TE over edge or CB in round 1?

Personally I’ve really been making the argument we need a WR more than TE. That TE just isn’t a huge position in our O. WR could get right on the field from the get go. But having that depth option at WR for this O would be a huge benefit.

Just depends on who is available and how the draft plays out…. I don’t think we take a TE in round 1 but I’m also not certain we stay in round 1 honestly think we see us trade out of it pick up couple extra day 2/3 picks in this draft

I suggested the trade for Dotson. He appeared to be clicking into everything by the end of the season. So I am standing by that trade fit. Him still having this second year for us under contract i always viewed as a huge bonus for trading for him specifically.

Egubuka would fix that right now, but that's a tough call with all we lost on defense

Give Dotson another year see if that chemistry finally clicks with a full offseason plus we added Terrence Marshall didn’t we former panthers 2nd round pick??? Good competition for the backup roles

Excited for Wilson as well with another year Hurts seemed to like him gave him plenty of opportunities for being that like 5th WR

No you need the best players plenty of kids in college are not top recruit turn into good players for small School… Josh Allen went to Wyoming because he wasn’t highly recruited coming out of high school.

Dallas Geodart was a D2 TE didn’t even play D1 football so clearly wasn’t a top recruit out of high school.

Q our CB wasn’t a top recruit out of high school the major programs missed.

Hunt was a small school kid he seemed to do well last year as a edge for us

Plenty of other examples of small school kids that were not high recruits.

Why you have a scouting department to scout players can’t just base it on what program they play for

But Bowling Green played Penn St and Texas A&M this past season. Not like he never faced anything but small little football programs. Those were good games for him at that.

Yeah Hurts trusts Wilson

They don't need 2 TE1's he is tradeable for them. They just added another vet too, so he is definitely a trade target. They can't find a QB so even Bowers suffers in LV until they DO. When Mayer was drafted he was their TE 1 (until they drafted Bowers the year after). IDK why they would take 2 top TE's 2 years in a row,but I will take advantage of their stupidity

I actually applaud what they did by not passing on Bowers. They had no reason anybody on their team should have lead to just dismissing taking such a top talent. That’s exactly how GMs screw up the easiest.

Good point, both games were nice. Once again if you want a receiving TE and are changing the offense then I have NP with him,but are we doing that?

Right and they have Mayer who was pick 35,so they now have a trade piece for more picks
