The theory could apply in many football games. But it’s not what happened on this past SB Sunday.Check out the play by play and you will see how the 2 yards fit into the whole picture. Do your homework.

Sure Spags was selling out against the run in those completely obvious passing situations. Or….what was created was the most difficult conversions for a QB to be forced to convert most all game. Hurts passed…mostly on the most obvious passing situations…is what actually occurred…if we are talking about the actual game that occurred.Same question as above … how many times in the whole game were the Eagles in 3rd and long?
May 10, 20251 yr 1 hour ago, cunninghamtheman said:Saquan has very routinely faced loaded box situations. Absolutely nothing new invented by Spags for the SB. Thing is….Barkley was killing teams loading the box against him. You stack everybody in there…he found a crease and….see you later…50,60,70 yard TDs resulted all season…until he choked in the SB. Is what it is.It wasn’t just the loaded box, but a loaded box with a mush rush.

I mean I do believe he is getting paid well. Saints were desperate. Terrible terrible terrible job. That HC situation easily could result in killing any future possibilities at HC again. I will bend to meet you halfway on this…Saints are way overpaying him…but he also was running from the situation he ended up facing with Siri. He was supposed to be given complete control of the O …like Fangio has of the D. That definitely isn’t what occurred.Hurts couldn't handle Moore's O. He isn't built for it(thus the pull back to the KISS offense). It will be a challenge for Moore in NO to be sure. But if you want a ground up guy to build your offensive play book around why not Moore? Like what do they have to lose???? I also believe LV has a team up and coming watch out for them in a year or 2

In 2021, 2022, and 2023 Sirianni chose to wear both hats, and because he had such a good Lieutenant in Steichen it worked, but when the Lieutenant became Brian Johnson, it stopped working … and in addition the CEO responsibilities of setting team culture and communication clearly needed full time attention. So Moore was hired as the COO of the Offense and Fangio as the COO of the Defense.
May 10, 20251 yr We had our entire O returning after winning it all. A second year with those guys to take even further. Pretty dream situation to consider returning to. Almost no version where a better…most likely actually good job is offered next offseason to Moore resulting. See coaches plenty turn down better HC offers than how so obviously abysmal that Saints job is. Cap he77! That doesn’t just hold progress back for the first season….that’s years bogging that organization down. That’s before even digging into how unmanageable their QB situation is. They extended Carr who isn’t very good….and he’s injured on top of everything. But hey…that very life changing money. Hard to refuse….except….very quality HC money is waiting right there so plainly one year away. 10 mil a year waiting a year to command a team that a coach can actually hope for a continued future career with….or dumpster fire payday now that makes his future career disappear. That’s just flat business speaking. Not even going into the destruction towards his name. Siri propped up in the most ideal situation….struggling so green…being carried through from being fired several times by everybody around him. Ball polishers here already tout he’s the winnigest coach ever for us. What I understand is all that got him to survive through his development. What you want to bet Siri’s about to ink a large payday resulting from that? Siri gets the respect and recognition along with the many career years of pay.

Siri stated plain as day we were to keep all the things that have been working. Just add in Moore’s plays on to his own. A whole verbiage was to remain and be built off Siri’s. Moore did massive lifting all in one season. This was just one huge piece of his work.Well documented? Where? Links to sources?

Then after that came? Could it be passing situation downs? How is the pass rush slowed down on obvious passing downs? The play-by-play documentation in the Gamebook will show you what actually happened.

I’ll be glad to chase it down.First presser Siri spoke after Moore was hired is what I referred to there. I’m sure you can figure out the dates. Siri straight fought his way back into the O practically right away. Be good for you to just hear him in that moment. Worst collapse he commanded to end 2023….owner and GM very publicly announce his demotion away from controlling the O. Labeled him CEO HC. Lowest point Siri could have faced completely damning his performance as an NFL O coach. Even then….you hear how Siri fights his way back. He doesn’t wish to relinquish control of his O. Listen to him about just how difficult it was after starting 2-5….giving it up to Steichen. But his HC start was a train wreck….he had no other choice but give it up…or not have a job.

May 10, 20251 yr So very clearly it’s back to Siri’s O again. His right hand guy Patullo going to keep following along. Key is now we had Moore create an actual scheme for Siri. Had Moore actually coach our O players fundamental key basic football elements. So hope is thats all Siri needed this whole time. I’m skeptical. But clearly the growth coaching and developing our O players…yes very key being the QB….our players can now continue forward themselves with. Can’t be anything but positive how Moore created an actual scheme and O for Siri to use going forward. Siri amd Patullo have shown no signs they can add anything really. They’ve shown no signs they can adapt. Shown no signs they can self scout. Do I even need to point towards the results of Siri’s film study of opponents gameplans script? Terrible….actually worse than terrible….reality can’t even understand how anybody could screw up so bad with our personnel to work with. How many games did it take last season to score our first TD in the first quarter? I wouldn’t even be accepting of that if our O was devoid of talent.

I believe the NO owner wants to see results by then. They aren't going to the SB this year. Moore will be key in future drafts for them, he has to be to get the players he wants. Kamara nearly out of gas, Carr retired. It's "Tablua Rasa" for Moore

What was it about the 2022 Offense that was not "providing an actual pro level O”?How about our entire O players adjusting to the D playcall? How about just possibly running multiple differing plays from each formation and personnel grouping? I mean…dude…the list is so freakin’ extensive to even attempt to dive into. Steichen was saddled running Siri’s "scheme”. But to me scheme actually means there is a rhyme and reason why everything happens. I saw none of that from Siri’s O. He got as far as bringing a playbook….an embarrassingly slim play variety at that. But it was just …here’s the play…run it…reads strictly always as written. Like….pee wee level stuff. It was bad….not like hey….it’s not yet a masterpiece….like…X and Os isn’t his area.

He had to completely overcome the RB having the greatest rushing season ever completely failing. Just no other way things could really be viewed about what happened that game. Elite superstud RB kept putting our O in bad down and distance situations. Behind the chains most of the time. Hurts had to carry the load. D was fantastic also….but frankly….Mahomes choked also. He really was making unforced errors just looking them. Add in our D forcing difficult situations the other times. They sure capitalized all over the place too.
May 10, 20251 yr Game started out with Hurts facing huge pressure pass to AJ they flagged him for OPI on. Chiefs have a good D. Don’t know any other version than flat out Hurts stepped up in the biggest pressure situation under far from ideal circumstances. You know….before we got up like a gazillion to 3.
May 10, 20251 yr 49 minutes ago, mattwill said:In the entire game how many obvious passing situations did the the Eagles face?It wasn’t just Spags stacking the box to stop Barkley, but also emasculating the pass rush by playing the run first and only rushing the passer after practicing run D discipline. With AJ and DeVonta seeing one on one coverage, easy completions kept the Eagles out of 3rd and long situations for the most part.Ok so…did we just abandon the run, like we did the previous SB when flag took RBs off the field often even? Or did we actually just stick with handing off to Barkley for 2 yards a carry the whole way? Try and just calculate any math equations where we keep going to Saquan only gaining two yards where we aren’t behind the chains of down and distance. I went through the play logs even awhile ago. Evidence points to the facts were Hurts was forced to throw on obvious passing situations. So I get it…Spags focused on stopping Barkley. This is true…but he was successful…and we stuck with it. It’s actually mathematically impossible for your opinion to actually have happened really. You can’t stick to handing off only gaining two yards the entire time and be in anything but putting more pressure on Hurts in known passing situations.
May 10, 20251 yr Like I stated…the big playaction to Smitty would be the biggest pass play you could fit under your assessment. But….what did that even really do to change much of anything? Could your argument really be based on otherwise they would have doubled Smitty? He beat his guy….flat out. Not like his defender was leaving him to run defend. Otherwise it’s so many unfavorable down and distance behind the chains situations Hurts was forced to convert. Actually pretty much the exact opposite of your assessment. Instead of taking advantage of passing being easier from Saquan setups….his job was actually more difficult. So many times obviously having to throw to convert to extend each drive.
