Handing off to Saquan for the greatest rushing season ever was no doubt huge. But that O and style was never going to be enough at the end. That was my argument and worry last season all along. Come the end it exactly wasn’t an O that could have carried us all the way. Come the huge games I priority the most…win or go home playoff games…we had to do so much more than just handoff to Saquan. That O worked fine to not lose to the Browns…and others. But it exactly wasn’t good enough at the end.

That Offense beat the Packers with 34 running plays and only 23 passing plays. That Offense beat the Rams with 34 running play and 20 passing plays despite the fact that Hurts was sacked 7 times. That Offense beat the Commies with 36 running plays and 28 passing plays. Even in the SuperBowl the Offense put up 33 points with a heavy run play load and a huge Time of Possession differential.

Your worries about the Offense sound like Chicken Little. Do you hear Hurts complaining about the Offense?

Just win baby!

BTW this is not being "a hater" it's understanding your QB's strengths and weaknesses ,making the adjustments. Hurts was superb after the week 5 bye and was a fantastic game manager. No(or very few) errors and you heard no complaints from me did you?

You also heard no complaints from Hurts himself.

You know I can accept that. But you don’t know how long I’ve been so ganged up against. So yeah…less of that for me now around here.

I will repeat myself. They are irrelevant. All they are are fans with their own opinions. How many cups of coffee can they buy at Starbucks with those opinions? Zero. Gather together all your self esteem and let them have their opinions and you have yours.

It succeeded in the Wild Card, the Division, and the NFCCG games. Because of the approach Steve Spagnuolo deployed in the Super Bowl an adjustment had to be made, and Hurts stepped up and was outstanding. However, don’t fool yourself, in the Super Bowl the Eagles called 45 running plays and 25 passing plays. It was still KISS.

What it did was make mostly long down and distance situations having to be converted.

Answers lie pretty clearly in Moore taking that completely terrible job instead of remaining with a stacked SB team again. Who takes that Saints clusterF of a job? He ran

He ran to a really big pay day reported to be $18 million per year for at least 3 years. He was getting paid between $1 million and $2 million in Philadelphia. $50 million is a terrible thing to waste.

Spags didn’t do anything new. Saquan just doesn’t have big moment experience.

Don’t be stupid. Spags absolutely sold out to stop the run with a consistent 8 in the box. He was very clear that he wasn’t going to let Saquon beat him. It worked, but it also left the Chiefs DBs in one on one coverage and Hurts took advantage and made them pay.

And the Eagles consistently converted them … something they had not been able to do in the first four games of the season.

That whole O plan controlled the Time of Possession 37 minutes to 23 minutes and built up a 34 point lead … 40-6. That was truly a spectacular failure. Truly.

You forgot the key piece... which was mentioned by every expert who analyzed the game, and admitted by Spags.... the focus on Barkley slowed the pass rush. Also left some of the coverage schemes vulnerable.

The major shift during my time was coaches adapting to their talent so much more. There seemed to be a locked in running the coaches O mentality. Either players worked in their system or didn’t. Past few decades that is considered just bad coaching now.

Andy Reid surely adapted when he had Duce, Buckhalter and Westbrook...but only ran them 38% ...due to his stellar group of WRs...Thrash, Pinkston and Freddie Mitchell.

Very beautiful job of adaptation 🙄

You even referred to the prototype. That label still exists. But Hurts is clearly proving other factors are more key than old thinking.

Correct...having an elite OL, elite RB, elite group of pass catchers are way more important than being 6'5" with a cannon.

With that type of group the ability to protect the football becomes more important.

There is no evidence of that. Moore called all the plays throughout the year. Plus the pass happy Offensive scheme of the first four games was virtually identical to Moore’s Offensive scheme in Dallas. It was very different from the Sirianni-Steichen Offensive scheme of 2021 and 2022.

You gotta take a trip to planet Ham so you can understand all things that aren't existing on earth and be able to see in the 4th dimension.

7 hours ago, mattwill said:

Where did Siriani say that? There is no documentation of any such interchange. Plus the Sirianni-Steichen Offense of 2021 and 2022 was nowhere in evidence in the first four games.

The sports channel on Planet Ham had the exclusive interviews... you need to purchase the channel.

7 hours ago, mattwill said:

Sirianni wasn’t retained. He was already under contract. You don’t pay a retainer to someone already on the payroll. Retainers are paid to outside firms like law firms for contract services. What services was Sirianni supposed to provide for this hypothetical retainer?

All on the sports channel on planet Ham.

The Carolina game was the exception. And how many times did we say it's unrealistic to think there won't be a let down or a poor performance at some point. They just came off 2 huge road wins in LA and Baltimore with Pittsburgh and Washington coming up.... was easy place to have an off game.

But AJ made the correct observation and it upset Ham... he wanted him off the team for wearing something and reading a book. All the dumb stuff that has zero to do with football. Same with Siri, that's why he has to make up all this other stuff.

But then bury his head in the sand with everything said and occurred with his boy Reddick.

You have your facts wrong. Sirianni’s relationship with Johnson was virtually identical to the one Sirianni and Steichen had. The problem was that Johnson only had a fraction of the experience Steichen had in working with Sirianni, and the lines of communication broke down. Sirianni and Howie and Lurie all agreed that the playcaller had to be the owner of the Offensive scheme, so Sirianni stepped away from all aspects of the Offense and concentrated on relationship building and relationship maintenance … both of which suffered greatly in the slump at the end of 2023. Moore came in with full authority, and the Dallas track record that made everyone believe he could deliver a passing first offense like the one Lurie has always wanted.

So refreshing having you on here....confirming all this...but with another approach than my simple balance sheet method

Which I was trying to stress to Ham...but for some reason...he wasn't seeing it.

To be honest ... it's really because what matters to him is that I the end Hurts doesn't receive blame.

In his mind Siri was going to be his excuse if they didn't win. All season he was complaining....stressing how we were winning but not showing any growth or mastering of a system. But Detroit was doing it the right way.

Yet thanks for pointing out the run vs pass consistency in the playoffs. The same approach since the bye week. The difference KC going all out to stop Barkley leaving them vulnerable with a slow pass rush and weaker coverage.

I even showed Ham the stat. .Hurts was 36 out of 36 rating when pressured. Well, only 3 times pressured in the SB... interception and a sack. The Eagles ability to keep their QB away from pressure... scheme, blocking and Hurts himself avoiding it... all contributed.

Hurts strengths....protecting the football and accuracy on short throws and sideline routes when thrown on time... fit perfectly with the scheme they ran since week 5.

Doesn't need to produce 300 yards, just be efficient. Put the pressure on the defense to have to make a play while having to cover studs all over the field... while having to stop the run first!

Ohh you may finally get it now.....you see this absolutely STUPID post... the agenda " Hurts carries the team " I mean... Barkley choked...lol. You understand planet Ham now.

Why do you think he feels attacked or on his own? Statements like this to where there is an opposing view...it triggers him. But we are haters for not going along.

Bipolar and narcissism are my balance sheet ideas... but all good. For the rest of us this is an outlet to discuss the Eagles... not really a competition. 2024 was a great season once they made changes after the bye....most of us were enjoying it the whole time... you can figure out the outlier.

" it's stressful when the team has expectations " is the explanation. Idk... I go back to the relatives telling me how much it sucked before Vermeil and my awful memory of the Marion Campbell era... to me, nothing worse than having your team irrelevant. Win or lose, way more enjoyable when your team has a chance! Seeing this team grow all year, absolutely the most fun season to watch.

The Eagles were 2 for 6 ...on 3rd and long ( more than 5 yards)... including a Hurts INT.

Let's understand that the offensive scheme/ approach by the Eagles...absolutely prevented them from being in 3rd and longs. Only 4 times in the first half. And converted 3rd and 8 with a short pass to Smith.

Let's not act like Hurts had to be Dan Marino or Dan Fouts ....very simple to go look at the results and the play by play here.

Theories are nice....facts are better. 2 conversions on 3rd and long... out of 6... where the last 2 attempts didn't even matter... let's be realistic here.

Hurts played well... made the key plays when needed...let's not act like he was put in a difficult position because of his scheme. The scheme absolutely kept him ahead of the chains and on position to make those plays.

Anyone outside the Philly area... if you can get 97.5 the Fanatic... great insider show. Andrew Deccheco ( not spelled right lol) great talk, he is on now.

Here too you are criticizing Moore.

I was actually just pointing out what an enormous boost Moore provided us by just getting the play in with time left on the playclock and utilizing motion. Then so completely magically the whole O could read the D so much better. It was a miracle! Or just finally providing an actual pro level O.

It was directly said in a presser from the horses mouth. Fact

Hurts in Moores offense was pretty bad. We were 2-2 and Hurts led the league in picks. Moore understood Hurts was in over his head and pulled it back (or Siri did, no matter). As I keep saying we went back to the KISS offense, basically the same stuff they run in college(which Hurts can grasp). 35-40 passes per game to 20-22, but I understand your god was responsible for it all. If I'm Siri I'm telling Patulllo to stick with the KISS offense and maybe try a few plays he may have. Bark and the tush push should remain the key pieces of this offense

Yeah so terrible 2-2. Brand new O being constructed and first time ever trying it out. It’s just crazy to believe the entire I wasn’t mastered by every player by week one. No PS games. One joint practice. Hurts never took off the red don’t hit me jersey until Brazil. First series of the entire season backed up in our own endzone….Dickerson gets mauled back into Hurts so he can’t finish his throw….turns into an interception. Oh no!!!! Or are you strictly calling the record of 2-2. The Siri dumb playcall to ice the game to Saquan that Barkley dropped. Then the D shell shocked let them romp right down the field. Or are you talking about the 90 degree heat in TB where AJ, Smitty and Lane were all missing? Those two losses are what you are casing failure completely on? Please…weak sauce!
