Although cheap and experienced I really don't like his injury history, so I would disagree with this "pro" writer. 32 and used with a history of unfinished seasons is a risk deal. What are your thoughts on adding this guy?

Over in the Blog the following interesting question was posed.

My response was as follows. What say you?

IDK what "play really well means" but as for me I would love to see Campbell become a staple for a number of years. My other would be Hunt also

Tough decisions ahead. IDK is Pierce TOO big to play G? Sometimes you lose the inside leverage game with a kid his size. I believe he is 6'8" without going back to re read

I agree. Tackle for him. Hinton at 6-6 could be a Guard Williams at 6-5 could also. Wouldn’t it be amazing if we got two Tackle starters an one Guard starter out of this Draft. I think that is unlikely but it will be fun to track.

The comments on Williams have been fascinating. He clearly could have made more in NIL money this year staying at Texas, but a year of development under Stoutland is going to advance him considerably more than a year of development under the O-Line Coach at Texas, so it is short term pain in exchange for long term gain.

My rookie WR fave signed fully guaranteed contract

He’s succeeded his whole career…what are you talking about?

His floor with a bad team and green HC over his head still was he forced that team to the playoffs…after the season before they won 4 games

Goedert isn’t a top TE. He’s good all around TE. But injured so much. Not a redzone target eother

I agree with that long term perspective. I think the person posing the question was only thinking about the 2025 season. Hunt for me ticks both boxes. We need his production in 2025 as well as as a staple long term. Production in 2025 from Campbell would be a "nice to have” but less of a need IMO.

You are the one stating he’s being carried by others…not me

Where do you rank him amongst the 32 TEs in the league?

Top 10?

You always say this, then post stats ....when it fits your agenda. When it doesn't "stats don't matter" LOLOLOLO Comical. The other part of the comedy is players get paid based on stats. Any non rook QB's being paid 55 million with say 800 yards a year in passing, 17 rushing and 2 TD's? No of course not, they are being paid for stats, past present and possible future ones. Why do you think AJ got upset when his target share dropped off a cliff???? Are you going to pay millions to a DT or edge guy who has 1/2 sack all year? Or a CB who gets burned 80% of the time? You might, but Howie won't

Ughhh AJ just got a huge raise after already being paid a fortune

It’s a team sport. He doesn’t carry his teammates and they don’t carry him.

How can anybody be upset about contracts when we just volunteered to pay him more for several years ahead. The pay is there. His career legacy of stats might be more an issue. I believe he’s chasing high levels of greatness. But…also…guy is a beast…just wants to contribute. I mean ….hes pretty unstoppable…

You say other QBs would put up so much more stats than Hurts if playing here. If your opinion was correct…how did Hurts sign for highest NFL pay?

You cite individuals(and me in a band and yes I have had bad performances as the other members have had, but you cover them and go on) Individual sports rely on no one else except their coach(es) In golf, even when teams play, there is not 1 guy driving and another doing the putts. it's still an individuals game with combined scores, not the same thing. You cite Hurts as being the only reason we won the SB and that is simply not true and you forget all the efforts by everyone who got us there. TBH last year at 2-2. I was questioning my 12 win prediction and if the pull back of Hurts had not been made(technically that was 1/2 time of the Browns game), I doubt we would have gotten to the SB at ALL. I was seriously expecting a dog fight with KC once again. We all but blew that off the map.

No way…never alluded to Hurts doing it alone.

Over and over praised the D

What I did was point out to you(the guy asking if Hurts can throw a five yard pass) that Hurts steps up to be the best player on the field come SBs

I disagree obviously. Completely always believed opposite. I knew we just needed to improve learning the new O. We could have been scoring 50 plus the whole time. Exactly what I said all along. Could have just been a theory unproven…until we actually unleashed our O to do exactly that

Not sure how to more respectfully call the opinion of having to pull Hurts back to reach the SB in a way more respectful and not as offensive as the term that applies of : ignorant. Brand new O being installed. Hurts took over several new duties being Kelce retired. I just can’t believe anybody could really have expectations hardly even in one full season you have to accomplish in one TC. Learning curve dude. Just obvious and predictably. I preferred speeding it up as fast as possible. I more wished to just suffer bumps in the road to get where we needed.

But ok…let’s just pretend your opinion makes any sense. Who was going to stop us you are saying then? Anybody anybody…Bueller…nobody…absolutely nobody
