MattyWill I’ll credit you with being an intelligent guy…but this is where you lose credit. Arguing against giving the ball to the guy producing the best season ever is the easy football answer.

Reading is fundamental Ham. Show me where I argued that. Your imagination is running away with you.

Not top 5 to you eh? Then why did we re-sign him and avoid drafting one? Name 4 TE's you like better than him, Kelce had a crap year, so who else do you have? He's playing with A) a team that relies on the running game B) A QB who hogs GL TD's c) has to share targets with one of the best WR tandems in the league. We value blocking over receiving stats, which is all you seem to care about even though stats don't matter, so in y view taking all things together with what he is up against and that we keep him back to aid the running game and preserve your precious god, I will call him a top 5, but it pleases me to know never having played the position and I have what a top TE is, you are THE MAN!!!!!! I know nothing which you consistently point out

I will give you a few- Andrews, Kelce maybe LaPorta who else is a better all around TE?

Not to knock Goedert, this data from OverThe Cap says he is paid like the lucky 13th, but at the $14 million he just negotiated down to $10 he would be 5th.

Brock Bowers is on a rookie contract, so he doesn’t appear on the OTC list. Neither does Sam Laporta, so Top 10 is an easy label to give Goedert.

Goedert isn’t a top TE. He’s good all around TE. But injured so much. Not a redzone target eother

Yes, I'm sorry I failed to mention and assumed you were intelligent enough to know WHEN HEALTHY. Obviously NO ONE is going to be in the top if they miss 15 games LOL Unreal. I need to spell things out better I guess. BTW Goedert is a CRAPPY BLOCKER when he MISSES games too, just HORRIBLE. When he is OUT his YPC just falls off the cliff 🤣

You say other QBs would put up so much more stats than Hurts if playing here. If your opinion was correct…how did Hurts sign for highest NFL pay?

What I said was HOW WOULD THEY DO IF THEY HAD the supporting cast WE do???? (Still no answer)

No way…never alluded to Hurts doing it alone.

What I did was point out to you(the guy asking if Hurts can throw a five yard pass) that Hurts steps up to be the best player on the field come SBs

Yep every other guy just vanishes, no contributions, all Hurts we know the agenda

I disagree obviously. Completely always believed opposite. I knew we just needed to improve learning the new O. We could have been scoring 50 plus the whole time. Exactly what I said all along. Could have just been a theory unproven…until we actually unleashed our O to do exactly that

LMAO remember back when you bished and called 31 PPG "Impossible can't be done"? Well we're still not there yet, but the GOAL for me(which you can't fathom either) is that. So if no team got there how can we score "50 plus the whole time"? We took our foot of the gas on numerous occasions and still got 35 ppg average over 2 games playing back ups. Once again(for the 800th time) we went BACK to the KISS offense NOT moving forward with the Moore offense. I'm done explaining this to you OVER and OVER again

Not sure how to more respectfully call the opinion of having to pull Hurts back to reach the SB in a way more respectful and not as offensive as the term that applies of : ignorant. Brand new O being installed. Hurts took over several new duties being Kelce retired. I just can’t believe anybody could really have expectations hardly even in one full season you have to accomplish in one TC. Learning curve dude. Just obvious and predictably. I preferred speeding it up as fast as possible. I more wished to just suffer bumps in the road to get where we needed.

But ok…let’s just pretend your opinion makes any sense. Who was going to stop us you are saying then? Anybody anybody…Bueller…nobody…absolutely nobody

Who is Bueller and what does this have to do with anything coherent?

Hurts was killing us with his wild man, bonehead, errant, poor decisions. Did you watch any of the first 4 games? When we let Bark take the games over Hurts BEGAN to shine(as I recall there was ZERO picks after that). The errors STOPPED and he became calm collected and excellent. The (too advanced for Hurts) Moore offense was pulled back to the things Hurts knew how to do well. The panic play stopped and turned our season around

You expected a dog fight against LC because you actually believed we HAD to pull things back ever. All we did was actually let our guys play. Blowout city…..

Defense was stellar,. Much better than the first SB we played vs them. Mahomes was humiliated, and I expected more from AR and them. Vegas was expecting the same dogfight but I am alone now???? In fact YOU were worried about the SB when I stated "KC is running into a buzzsaw" remember?????

So talking about single coverage really only would apply to one single player:AJ.

Why? Smitty is more than capable with a 1 on 1

Heck 2nd and 7 is very clear passing down.

Why?

I never said this YOU said I said this. I asked if the QB's I listed would do just as well as Hurts if they were here with the surrounding cast we have(no answer) And don't tell me Lamar, Allen or Love don't have legs

Your myopia is acting up again. Why do boxers jab and jab and jab? It is to get the opponent leaning so that they can be set up for a non-jab punch.

One of the complaints about Moore was the dismal 1st Quarter production. The explanation was that the scripted plays were put together the way they were to create specific "testing” scenarios in order to learn about the scheme the opponent was deploying.

Further, by going back to the Barkley well so consistently, what Moore and Stoutland were doing was keeping Spags in the one dimensional 8 in the box scheme … a scheme they could exploit. Hurts did indeed gain 72 yards, but only 25 of the 72 were in the 1st Half. The remaining 47 were in the 2nd Half when the game was already in the bag. Plus more than half of Hurts’ 25 1st Half rushing yards were scrambles on broken pass plays.

With all the above said, why do you think Hurts was so success on the passing attack in the 1st Half of the SB?

BOOM

One thing you can’t take away from the HC is authority of final decisions. Siri couldn’t be stopped from his control of the script. So clear and obvious. Exactly what showed as our embarrassing worst feature.

Disagree. It was very relevant. If he was awful Howie would not have jumped at the chance to get him

As much as I would love to see him go over 2,000 again, the chances of that happening are probably less than 5%. History tells us that.

And we have a tougher schedule vs better teams now in 2025

This is cupcake football stuff. Give the biggest weapon ever the ball. Why would there need to be a single reason beyond that?

Agree...give your leader the ball.

Had zero to do with the fact that they forced the passing early in games.

2 hours ago, cunninghamtheman said:

How much more basic of football knowledge can any situation get than….give the ball to the best playmaker?

Give it to the leader... I agree. 25 times....then pass for 22 times. Great formula. Dominated all season since 2nd half of weak 5 with that formula.

Not talking about pay, I'm asking who is the better TE for the Eagles with how our offense operates? I believe Goedert is a top 5 for THIS team despite the fact he plays with the leagues best RB last year,2 top WR's who take the majority target share and a QB who ignores the TE and slot in the RZ. Of course there is no way to tell how he would do elsewhere or how well others would fit here. I listed 3. So IMO for our team he is a top 5, being paid less is a bonus from Howie my bad though I DID forget about Kittle,so Goedert would be #5 HERE in my view
