Not cherry picking one…at all. Started from the beggining …to see if anybody can actually backup there conclusion of bad Barkley production actually created a change making things so much easier for the rest of our players.Still waiting….You didn't do any breakdown... Matt provided the actual plays ad it happened. Your breakdown isn't facts...it's whatever they showed on your planet which doesn't jive with the actual play log at all. Again...instead of 65 posts in a row...with left field theories and spin. Save all that time and just go to the game log. Takes a few seconds.

The simple ..easy…most obvious explanation.Which is more important, getting a score on the first drive or learning whether the opponent has used the week to come up with a game plan specific to the Eagles that is different than the game plans that they have deployed against other teams. Those game plans against the other teams will be what you see on film. You won’t see anything on film about the new game plan specific to the Eagles that the opponent has devised. The only way to know what the opponents game plan is is to test it.

May 13, 20251 yr 2nd and 11…the first scoring drive of the game. Pass rush wasn’t slowed expecting run. Blitz…expecting pass…in a situation can only be described as made more difficult after Barkley touched the ball. Just more Hurts failure indeed!
May 13, 20251 yr The majority D Spags deployed all season was Man coverage/single high S also known as Cover 1. So you can point towards because of Barkley Spags called that D…or because they played on a football field that was green. Either would be accurate.

Every time Bark gets a hand off he should run for______________________ fill in the blank. I'll waitThat is an interesting question. I also think it’s a slightly irrelevant question. The reason that Barkley has the incredibly high yards per carry is not because each carry is exceeding a minimum threshold like you’re asking for but rather it is the 60 and 70 yard runs and even shorter ones like 50 40 30, and 20 that bump up his average carry is. Then look at his median carry the median is going to be significantly lower than the average because there are many many low yardage runs, but only a few high yardage runs, but the high yardage runs affect the average significantly.

How many of those yards were in the first half and how many of those yards were when the game was on the line versus yards that were realized once the game was out of reach for the Chiefs?

Laugh it up all you wish while attempting to tear down our leaders greatness. Why is that relevant? You keep treating football as a individual sport rather than the team sport that it is.Were the yards that Hurts ran for in Super Bowl 57 enough yards for the team to win?

So you can point towards because of Barkley Spags called that D…or because they played on a football field that was green. Either would be accurate. You just did in the comment above an excellent job of explaining why scripts are used at the beginning of a game by the offensive coordinator. As you noted above, Spags used the cover one safety high approach in all of his games or virtually all of his games during the season. He probably used that defense in the playoffs as well. However, that was not the defensive scheme that he deployed in the Super Bowl, so any and all film of the Chiefs defense during the season would not have shown more. What an eight in the box Spags defensive scheme look like. Therefore, he ran the script to test and see what that scheme was going to look like actually deployed on the field

May 13, 20251 yr 2 hours ago, mattwill said:It is incredibly easy to say that with a straight face. Why was Saquon only able to get 4 yards? The answer is simple because bags sold out against the run and put eight in the box. Why was the screenplay to Barkley from Hertz unsuccessful? Because spas played in the box and a screenplay against eight in the box is going to be a heavy lift. Moore knew that and that’s why he designed that play into the script. So that he could see how Kansas City was deploying against screens. That would tell him how he was going to be able to use screens if at all later in the game.Yep ..your opinion of we purposely took such a gifted O and meant to be the least scoring team just rings of such accuracy.
May 13, 20251 yr Just now, cunninghamtheman said:Yep ..your opinion of we purposely took such a gifted O and meant to be the least scoring team just rings of such accuracy.Instead of how the talented coaches ..if nothing else…their initial script works for a score even if they struggle the rest of the day. All that film study to predict how the D plays you so you can call the worst plays to be successful. That’s how every team puts in all that work each week to come up with that.

Blitz…expecting pass…in a situation can only be described as made more difficult after Barkley touched the ball. Just more Hurts failure indeed! When I get home, I will check the All 22 for that play. I suspect that there was no blitz. It is almost impossible to blitz from eight in the box to blitz with eight in the box. You would have to have one of the 3-D’s blitzing and have someone from the eight in the box dropping back into coverage and I doubt that the Chiefs did that. But the play will show what it was. In any case when you have what you describe as a blitz the key for the quarterback is to hit the hot read. Obviously Hurts did not hit the hot read in this play because he was forced to scramble.
May 13, 20251 yr We worked really hard …and meant to be the worst O out of everyone…to gain that advantage. Just like the advantage given to Hurts in those unfavorable down and distance situations.
