We kept going to Barkley even though he wasn’t predicting. That didn’t make anything easier for Hurts after that. Made it more challenging…contrary to your observation. How does having the perfect set up for play action passes make it harder on Hurts? How does having AJ covered one on one make it harder on Hurts? How does having DeVonta also covered one on one make it harder on Hurts? How does having Goedert covered one on one make it harder on Hurts? The 15-play script of plays Moore drew up did exactly what it was supposed to do. (1) it confirmed for Spags that Barkley was coming hard and often. (2) in the second play the availability of play action passes was confirmed. In the next series of downs they confirmed that the 8 in the box would be very difficult to make passes in the back field (screens, etc) against, (3) in all the plays they confirmed KC was in Cover Zero on the WRs and TE.That was exactly what the script was designed to uncover. It did its job perfectly. For fans, scripts at the beginning of a game are often frustrating because their primary aim is not to score but rather to gather intelligence for the coaches and players. That intelligence makes the job of the QB easier not harder.

In boxing the first 1-3 rounds are feel out rounds to see what you can exploit later. The first SB 1/4 was basically that. Running different plays to see what their, forcing them to show their poker hand before the bets are in reactions/coverages would be. We did this with all teams after week 4. Try some plays see how/if they adjust, figure out how we can beat their adjustments. It's why we were bashed for not scoring the first 1/4(even I was bashing this) After week 4 and the bye I saw WHY. Siri was scouting what he saw, telling Moore "ok here was the shift they made"(on whatever play) then Moore would call upstairs to verify then make the moves needed to exploit that intel. Siri doesn't have to call the plays to be the sideline general. Siri knew to beat KC they had to keep Mahomes off the field. To do that you hand the ball to your elite RB. He could get .5 YPC,that wasn't the point. of course Bark could break one at any time as he did all year. But 2.2 YPC does what? Keep Mahomes off the field. Hurts was asked to play QB and make a few throws, isn't that what we pay him for? 3 3rd and longs? No other QB has to face those? KC stacked the box and indeed stopped Bark.......but SO WHAT? The damage we did was they could not cover everyone else. Excellent "general" who finds teams weakness in 15 minutes, then exploits them the other 45 LOL

It was only that one time we faced the elite RB he was forced into single covering such a severe threat.I’m having a hard time envisioning what you are saying. In Fangio’s light box 4-2-5 scheme almost all the deployment of the 5 DBs is in zone coverage. How do you triple team any offensive receiver in zone coverage. You are correct about an elite RB having the potential to stress Fangio’s light box, and that illuminates the value of Jordan Davis in Fangio’s scheme. Davis consistently occupies two blockers and denies two running lanes for the RB. The opponents can’t double Carter as a result, so the running lanes he is patrolling are effectively unavailable to the RB also. That leaves the two Edges as opportunities for the RB, but both Nolan Smith and Jalyx Hunt have shown they are excellent at setting the edge and also incredibly fast in pursuit. Can you name an elite RB who succeeded running against the Eagles in the games after the Bye? I can’t. The most successful runner wasn’t even a RB.

It was outstanding.Very gray area, probably different for everyone. But If I had to state mine(assuming we know EVERYONE has a "off" game once in awhile(sometimes the entire team doesn't click) There are many definitions for me personally depending on what type choke you mean. 1) There is the mental choke where your head just ain't in the game, you aren't playing to your own expectations or in the case of bark, HAMS expectations. Yet as I recall Bark still went over9or close to) 100 combined in the SB? That's not a bad game for most anyone, so "fail" would be dependent on the viewer. 2) There are physical chokes where you just aren't playing well, maybe you had a bug and just aren't playing at 100% 3) Sometimes you can have both of these at the same time. Having to play in a stacked box vs a team in the SB is different that playing vs a stacked box against a crap team. Obviously KC has a defense or they wouldn't get to the SB, so you are playing against 8 very good guys, not "few good guys and 3 others LOL. Hams example of the Falcons game was a mental choke for ONE PLAY- ONE. The fact Bark "choked" was because he was playing against one of the best stacked boxes in the league. I understand this is a long explanation, but many top players in many sports "choke" .Some days I went to work ill and CHOKED on the job I was hired to do, but everyone has that. I'm not going to bash a guy who has one bad play in a few games here and there and kicks ass the other times. For every bark "choke" I can vid you 3 where he just destroyed everyone. Did those defenders CHOKE? So it's not really a singe definition for me as far as sports go. A TOTAL choke would be where you play so badly EVERY DOWN you need to be pulled from the lineup. So a complex answer from me LOL

Covering 3 on the slot side is also like stacking the box as if they chose to run left screen left or off tackle, you have extra guys over there. If you trust Q as a CB, you can leave him on an island with NP. Still there are 11 players per side so you have the have them doing something

In film study you determine tendencies, but just as in the rest of real life, the homework you do prior to undertaking an endeavor has to be tested in live action.I’m glad we agreed on the purpose of scripts. If my description was BS, then I’m sure you will agree that yours was too. 🤫🤫🤫
May 13, 20251 yr Why would you not run plays with specific plans for success…attempting to beat what you are expecting to see? You guys working from two feet in the hole. You shoot for early success being achieved at after successful opponent film study preparations. You know…do your job well actually paying off. The simple ..easy…most obvious explanation.

Spags may do that when he can because as I said he trusts his CB's. In the SB it wasn't a CHOICE, he HAD to cover the box with bark there. With this team it's "pick your poison" Stacking the box means you can't double up out stellar WR's or capable TE. IDK whey we are still discussing this

That is simply a dropped pass. To determine whether the player’s aggregate play was a choke, that play along with all the other plays by the player’s aggregate are assessed to determine whether he choked. For example, by your definition Hurts’ fumble that was run back by KC for a score was a Choke by Hurts. I disagree with that assessment. It was indeed a very bad play by Hurts, one that he has said over and over and over that he regrets, but when that play and all of Hurts’ other SB LVII plays are evaluated as a whole, there is no way anyone can say Hurts’ performance in that game was a choke job. Sure it isn’t a choke if a player misses a few throw with the game on the line.
