I think a lot of changes made during that offseason. Lurie I believe had his biggest impact on the franchise. He likes when there is communication and multiple people looking at things. I believe that he held his group accountable... believing in his GM and coach and holding them accountable to each other. Fixing everything.

IDK after Chip, that Howie wanted a HC who controls the O. So OC's are hired./fired to run the O. if your OC's are getting poached, you're doing something right.

I’m not following you. 2024 was Moore’s high risk scheme for games 1-4 and then the collaborative low risk Moore-Stoutland scheme from game 5 through the SB. 2023 was Johnson’s scheme throughout the year, which explained the drop off from Steichen’s 2022 scheme. Johnson didn’t have the experience or the cojones to carry off in 2023 what Steichen had carried off in 2022.

Johnson’s scheme looked exactly like rolling forward with what Steichen had got rolling in Siri’s O? What at all made it look like it was something different Johnson ran instead of the O already here? I would have no idea.

Certainly Johnson is the outlier... all the reports being that Siri had to give more attention to the offense due to not trusting Johnson. Not the style of coaching he wants to have as he paid less attention to the whole picture

Also they had no outside or individual agendas. But that comes with the addition of Barkley and the parting of ways with Reddick. The focus was 💯 on winning the whole thing the entire time.

NO, the Lions were the only team that were "all in" 😆

If you are winning that much...with multiple OCs...your coach is definitely doing something right...no doubt.

How do the cap hits look comparing Mahomes vs Hurts.... perhaps Howie has the #s looking pretty favorable in comparison. Possibly no need to hang out with Jake from State Farm or a fast food franchise?

The cap hits for the years Hurts is under contract are comparable as shown below, but the advantage the Mahomes contract has is that 2028 through 2031 are locked in, whereas Hurts is only under contract until 2028 PLUS there is a $97 million dead cap balloon.

Johnson didn’t get the power Steichen got after Siri bombed to begin his HC career.

I'm saying... even if it was a Siri’s scheme...look at the success. 39 regular season wins out of 51 games...a few meaningless losses ....and a few without the starting QB.... AJ and Lane. A slippery field away from one less loss... and 2 titles.

I mean... the last 3 years ...calling it someone's scheme... that's a bad way to try to insult or talk down about someone.

I follow you now. But that is what a good CEO does … guide the ship and establish an efficient and effective culture with operational managers who are empowered to do great things with the resources at hand.

I'm glad they went as a unit and didn't just send Stoutland in, nice projection in unity and I'm glad Siri has an open door policy

It is important to go up the chain of command. First go to your "area manager”. Then with the area manager go to the COO for approval of the change.

The FYI Heads Up meeting with the CEO ensures that the entire team culture is in sync … that way Fangio knows and Clay knows and Howie knows and Jeff knows. While Sirianni is handling those communications, Moore and Stoutland and the position coaches and the players are busy installing the changes.

I mean..if you think Hurts $161 mil... from 2023-2028... vs Mahomes $297 mil in those same 6 years... is comparable?

I don't see it that way. $136 mil difference in a 6 year period. That is pretty substantial.

Now that's the start and the bulk.. but yeah..Hurts 97 mil in the void year of 2029...with Mahomes having $138 on the books from 2029-31. But do you really think if the Eagles extend Hurts, that the cap hits will be as high as Mahomes is showing? I'd wager Howie keeps them way lower.

And the thing that also matters ... the time value of the cap hits as the cap goes up. The initial 6 years, especially 2026 and 2027. Are going to allow the Eagles to do way more than KC will be able to do.

Howie also kicked up his draft prowess and off season acquisitions as well as learned about defense. Poor Schwartz, never had the players like Fangio has. We were all a little surprised because Howie historically(until this last draft) didn't take DB's or LB's high in drafts.

Sure, I understand how it works. I'm still struggling at understanding contractual stuff TBH

If you spread the $97 million over the non void years of Hurts’ contract you get more of an apples to apples comparison. Based on our past conversations about Howie’s contract/Cap manipulations I agree with you that if Howie exercised the out and lets Hurts walk, the Hurts contract is better. But the premise of this exercise is that KC will be keeping Mahomes and the Eagles will be keeping Hurts. In that scenario there is no out for the $97 million.

Further, if you look at all the Mahomes contract years you see that he like Hurts had low cap hit years early in his contract as well … 2020 and 2021

Lurie also learned from how they got Fed by Arizona and Gannon, thereby losing Fangio. He and Howie and Nick took steps to be sure that never will happen again. When they knew they could get Moore they acted decisively.

Well it's Moore's first year as HC, so he needs to go 14-3, not the lame 9 wins loser Siri had 🤣. Horrible. Since Siri sucks and Bark choked and Hurts got married we're going 2-15. I hope the cheerleaders are good this year

I can't look at the past years really. Then you have to show Hurts original contract which was peanuts ..that puts Hurts ahead even more.

You compare the 2 each year, the Eagles have way more cap space to work with around their QB than KC does.

You have to go to 2029. What dies that tell you?

But the time value of the cap hits... even if the money was the same total... the early years matter more because of 2 things. One is how the cap goes up each year, so any amount in 2029 won't be near the same as it is in 2025..or how it was the 5 seasons before.

The second reason is it's more flexible to have the cap space earlier in the contract so that you can make moves. Get other players early...lock them up early as well. Once you got them locked then you can plan around.

You look at both deals side by side...year by year....in every scenario the Eagles win. Most of them by a mile.

Bottom line... the Eagles are able to pay their players way more than KC. . Due to being less hampered by the QB's contract.

That’s why he hired Siri who ran the O. Brilliant thought. Another one is that OCs get poached because if they can do what they did here under Siri restraints they should be really effective without him.

We have whole stadium chant knowledge to HC. Players bring the knowledge to the HC. Only thing missing is the HC possessing any knowledge.

Learned about D? Hahaha Rosie just hired a coach finally that commanded the power over it. So Rosie learned about D by just doing what Fangio says.
