All this is super nice to hear. Kids becoming men!!!! Much of that is the culture instilled here and keeps turning over year after year. As young men, they know they can talk to any "adult" on the team and not be rejected or lied to all the way up to walking into Siri's office and they all seem to respect each other and "best man wins." Yet that is not a deterrent if you lose, you know you need to work harder and there are MANY people there to help. Love hearing this stuff. No cancers, no prima donnas

I'm hearing the Huff trade pick is a 5th. We all kind of suspected that. Glad to have that and reduce the cost of Huff(cut bait and move on)

Sometimes addition by subtraction helps the most. Locally they really think the locker room was better last year with the additions of Barkley and Baun... along with the rookies. Kelce and Cox still made their presence felt enough ... losing a certain player who cared mostly about his $acks changed the dynamic for sure. Plus the idea that they were behind guys like Sweat and Williams playing well to get big offers elsewhere, always helps the culture. The players know when the organization cares about you.

I don't think they rush to sign anyone who may simply be in it for the stats or pay day. I think better to let some of these young guys grow into leadership roles and cement that culture so that if they bring in a FA that has a sizzle to their name, it's not seen as " we need you" as much as "we want you" here to help.

Fifth with conditions that could make it into a fourth

Right but at this moment it's a 5th. I didn't see what the conditions were, someone fill me in. I woke up at 4PM still shaking off the nights cobwebs. Other than asking me my name don't try asking anything else because even that question is shaky

Unless Ham tells us otherwise that is correct

So a 4th with possible 3rd?

5th with a possible 4th

Yeah I was looking at Redick. So I deleted my post because the cobwebs are lurking still

It's also nice on the phone to say "do you want to play for the SB champions?" That doesn't hurt a bit

Howie was the best GM hire in the NFL. Change my mind

OT- (irony at it's finest) I turned off notifications on my comp. Then notifications notified me that I turned off my notifications. Tech 1- Humans-0

Have we heard what draft pick we get in the Huff trade yet? Sounds exactly like Rosie controlling the intel spinning mid round pick. Going to be very disappointing if that’s just a fifth rounder….especially considering we took on more money facilitating the trade. Paying for this draft pick return makes me feel like should be a fourth rounder. We didn’t really dump much money out of this arrangement. Just enabled us to push a good chunk of it back to next season’s cap.

We will very predictably face the potential scenarios come roster cut down for this season: of choosing short term versus longer term. This is difficult for me. Because feel we are smack dab in the middle of our greatest dynasty run. All In team for this season. So really can’t afford much dead weight on the roster. Especially no fourth or fifth RB like Sermon on the actual 53 instead of PS. PS really had evolved over the past..what? Decade almost. PS players now really get involved week to week on the field. So it’s not like the old days anymore. So actually stashing and protecting a player or two on the 53 man roster is much more feasible. Our main stash spot still being the IR. But IR players can’t get involved practicing. So young guy or two developing really need to be on the 53 to do so….if we fear them getting poached if left to the PS.

So gotta figure out the proper balance between All In and young players needing to develop.

One big decision surrounds cut day is guys making the 53 that are headed to IR. Trying to remember all the exact rules….but believe if you never make the active 53 on cut day and just straight are IR the entire time that leaves you out of any opportunity to even get off IR during the season to become active. Like Dean for instance….think even if not cleared to play…we have to officially make him part of our 53 at cut day. Then can place him on IR designation to return. There seems to be some confusion on whether at the time placed on IR whether you need to label one of your Designated to Returns or not. I don’t have the concrete answer on this. Seems media and insiders talk about it a bit confusing…muddling what the actual rules are. Do know there are a couple pretty big Eagles Media believe you have to label Designated or not right when you place players on IR. You only get a few IR players can return each season. One player can’t return a third time.

It is ESP, so take it with a grain of salt, but …

So usually there are four players(give or take) make our 53 but then head to IR. So a moment of risk for four actual key players we are placing on the 53 that are exposed to all poachers have to pass through waivers. Then can make the official switch. Our long snapper be a perfect player to just let sit out in the wind already realizing and being told entire situation of swapping out for the IR player…essentially made the team …in every way but technically official just on that roster cutdown day.

You clearly haven’t been paying attention … or reading the posts in this thread. But to help you out of your fog, it’s a 5th Round pick in 2026, which can escalate up to a 4th Round pick if certain conditions (as yet unknown) are met.

Getting a 5th is what we all expected. Howie stuck in the "conditionals". I was willing to trade him for 2 Wawa subs. Howie cut bait but got us a pick next year. He got more than anyone thought. IDK the conditions yet,if it's a snap count % it's a terrific gamble because the 9ers coughed up loot to get him
