Thing is he actually doesn’t even need to win the battle. Think he might have a way he can take Void years away with the league office powers. Then the NFLPA could fight it. But really Goodell just needs to get us for a couple of seasons.

Maybe he can just take away picks for us tampering with Barkley lol

What reason do you have to think that? Do you understand collective bargaining? The NFL can’t unilaterally change the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Any change has to be mutually agreed to and signed by both parties.

Just because something was ‘enough’…doesn’t equate to ‘best’. In fact…feel like my point was exactly proven correct finally when we needed it at the end. We did it what I was/am suggesting right there in the NFC Championship game and SB. Who was beating us playing like we were in those two games? Just doing exactly what I was suggesting. Felt like the best version of our team to me.

What are you suggesting.... say it specifically. You want pass more? Which means you don't read the post where I showed our scores where Hurts passed more vs when he passed less?

Are tiu saying run more?

What are you saying... " unleash " isn't a play call... that's not saying anything you would do.

That's like saying I think our basketball team should make every shot in the 1st quarter..or out baseball team should hit more in the first inning.... you state the obvious of a result but have given zero method.

You are correct when you say you don't express yourself well. What specifically are you talking about...and then go look at what happened this season , especially early in games. .where we passed early and punted. When we mixed in more runs early toward the end, we actually started scoring early. That's a fact...but again you missed the fact that we were improving all season...we weren't like Detroit...lol

IDK when you have the defending champs down 33-0 I think you're doing pretty well???? What can you improve on? Versatile how???? Tell us what you mean by that. Why do you want to eff up what's working?

Ham thinks in terms of Madden.

Ham hasn't been able to understand that the players benefit from everything Howie has done contract wise ....BECAUSE THRY GET PAID!

It's never where players take less when they sign the long term deals...they get their money up front, the rest of the Cap stuff that helps keep the hits low isn't anything that the players sacrifice.

He refuses to acknowledge this concept....but again..."im the only one realizing how Jalen Carter is goiing to get paid" he just lives in his own world.

In fairness to him, recently he has been showing some increased understanding of your guaranteed money vs. non-guaranteed money explanations. You have expanded my thinking as well.

Yeah... it's a collective bargaining issue. You can be sure the players union will have their say. This is one of the things that offsets " guaranteed contracts " which the owners will avoid at all costs.

The way the 2nd Round signings have been playing out so far there appears to be the first half of the 2nd Round players are getting all four years guaranteed, and the remaining 2nd Round players are getting the first three years guaranteed, but not the fourth.

That's irrelevant...that's peanuts... the guaranteed contracts on the real money are where the void years can help the players since the owners don't want to guarantee all those large long term 2nd and 3rd contracts... the rookie deals are peanuts for the 2nd round and below.

We need to score more early in the game....lol. that's a strategy... we need to unleash... unleash and score us a strategy.

Like in boxing you should hit the opponent as much as possible before he hits you. Such specific strategy of how to do it

But let's look at the Eagles results and play calls while they struggled before scoring vs the Bengals on their first drive week 8 and then their first 1st Q TD vs Jax week 9....

Week 1 Green Bay... 2 drives... Hurts 1-3 for 1 yard...Int and a fumble

Week 2 Atlanta... 4 for 5 for 29 yards

Week 3 Saints... 1 for 2 for 2 yards, sack

Week 4 Tampa ... 1 for 3 for 7 yards .. sack

Week 6 Cleveland... 0- 5... 5 incompletions

Week 7 Giants ... 4 for 5 for 43 yards .. 3 sacks that led to 3 punts.

Hurts 11 for 23... for 82 yards... 5 sacks... 1 Interception and 1 fumble

So 30 pass plays... 82 yards passing... 2 turnovers and 5 sacks for 46 yards that will lower the net yards on those plays to 36 yards

30 pass plays 36 yards net and 2 turnovers

Wonder why we started off slow? Not rocket science... unleashing wasn't the issue.

Same games in the first quarter... we ran 26 times for 90 yards.

So running the ball 26 times for 90 yards

Vs

Passing 30 times for 36 yards and 2 turnovers

Pass plays should always net more yards... should also lead to more turnovers... but we see here where netting 1.2 yards per pass play is a problem.

Forcing the QB to be an MVP candidate early was the issue. The pass plays come when the opposition looks to stop the run... then everything opens up for us.

We need to unleash the Siri/ Stoutland O of running the ball early. You establish your best units and force the opponent to focus on our OL and RB...the All Pro players on our O.

Then you get AJ, Smith and the rest involved while the D is focused on stopping the run. Single coverage... less aggressive pass rush etc.

Play ahead of the sticks and work to your QB's strength...which is not making mistakes and short ball accuracy.

You have to make the game where a 3 yard run and a 5 yard pass work for the offense and not the defense!

We had the game won,why would you keep pushing Barkley in the last game of the year? Oh I forgot, he "choked" with "only" 97 yards of contributions

Phenomenal pass blocking...even a couple gems on Hurts runs.

So the 33rd pick... 4 years 11.78 mil... peanuts to worry about guaranteed money for the owners.

The void years help offset more than that whole contract in a lot of cases... otherwise the veterans won't get that money up front.

Any tool that allows the cap hit to be lowered while the players get paid is something that benefits the players that their union won't give up. They want fully guaranteed contracts... the owners don't want that....and I agree with the owners as I think the product would suffer without the players having to earn those last years of their deals.

The trade off obviously would be no significant signing bonuses or one year high salary using void years.

The issue is not Howie...the issue is the rest of the league...or say half...needs to start catching up on how to take advantage. Sorry we learn things first, but can't penalize the players around the league for that. There wouldn't be any issue if other front offices learn these things, this way it's an even playing field.

Yea...we need nicknames...that's the key in 2025!

Seems like the Wuss will be going back to the Redskins name, in which case, I have to come up with a new(and maybe improved nickname)

??? Redskins? Where are you hearing any of this?

I agree in Cap dollars terms it is peanuts, but having the 2nd Round players holding out and missing Training Camp is meaningful.

A) The native tribes have been petitioning them for awhile B) Trump is threatening to block the new stadium unless they change it back to Redskins which the team had for 87 years before this woke BS began. I remember "they" demanded the Packers change their name and they were told to "pound salt" LOL. There was zero reason to change(why I call them the Wuss because they caved). I guess the ALT Braves is ok? the FL St Seminoles is ok? He wants the Guardians to change back to the Indians and the fans are all for that in Cleveland

Individual tribes have given permission to individual teams to continue using the specific name. "Redskins” is a slur word. "Braves” is an honorable word.

Trump aims at stadium over Commanders' name

President Donald Trump is threatening to hold up a new stadium deal for Washington's NFL team if it does not restore its old name and is calling for Cleveland's baseball team to revert to its forme...

So whatever, not getting into a social fight on here, but it was stupid to change the name to start with, just say NO(like the Packers did). Article from 2020. I'm done

Packers wasn’t an indigenous name. Meat packers.

The Green Bay Packers have not changed their name since they were founded in 1919. While briefly associated with Acme Packing Company, they quickly reverted to the "Packers" name and have retained it ever since. The team's history is deeply intertwined with the Indian Packing Company, which initially sponsored them and led to the "Packers" moniker.

Here's a more detailed look:

  • Early Years:

The team was initially known as the Green Bay Packers due to their connection with the Indian Packing Company.

  • Brief Name Change:

After the Indian Packing Company was bought by Acme Packing, the team was briefly called the Acme Packers.

  • Return to Packers:

However, they soon reverted to being known as the Green Bay Packers and have remained so.

In 2000, the animal rights group, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), requested that the Packers change their name, arguing it promotes violence and bloodshed by referring to meat packers. PETA suggested alternative names such as "Pickers" or "Six-Packers".

BTW if you had a less than good O line, Hurts tush pushes wouldn't be as productive as they are. Of course he has the powerful legs, but a crap O line would put alot on him alone. But Ham thinks he carries the team anyhow lol

He doesn’t carry the team…he leads the team!

Once again you still fail to see WHY that was. Ever watch boxing? There are usually 1-3 "feel out" rounds before the big action starts. What's wrong with taking 1/4 1 and analyzing your opponents game plan?

Poor game plan and script
