Just showing there is no way to define "top tier". As you can see top tier guys went at 17 and 22

It’s what you do preparing for the draft. Scout and rank. If you do a poor job identifying players nothing will help you in the draft anyway. I wouldn’t be shy about trading up for a Sauce Gardner or such players I coveted highly.

Forget philosophy...it's 2024....are you trading up for a WR now?   You trading all that for a TE?

It's not philosophy it's FACTS that 2 top tier WR's were taken at 17 and 22

So the answer is you would trade up for a WR?

Sure would. Really like all four of these guys.

Where was your boy Deebo selected?

And Tom Brady was taken day three.

I’d be willing to pay that price for any of those listed top tier prospects.

See..i think you are saying this because you want a CB... you like the sizzle.  Then after the draft you are going to say ... see I called it, we could have had that CB.

So my counter... why wouldn't you do the trade when pick 9 goes on the clock so you can just pick your CB now.

You love Smith... and AJ... no shot you would trade for a WR here.

Yeah but your giving away a 5th(even leaving the 2 out of it lol) which you said didn' t matter. Brady was a round 6

Only 3 QBs go top 9... both CBs...and the top 3 WRs... now you have the 4tb WR....you would trade up all those  picks for that guy?

Doing the trade while on the clock would be most optimal. But you are forgetting there are other teams bidding out there. That trade might not still be around by then.

SO I'm giving up JJ(or Lamb) and Brady for some unknown pick 9? That's smart? Ok then I'm stupid

Kelce was day three as well. Don’t even think our big FA signing was drafted(Huff)

It would be worth it IF Howie traded up to 9,then traded back and got more than he gave. I could see him dong that because he's good at it

You are welcome to look at things however you wish. I absolutely believe there are times worth trading up in the draft. You clearly would give away all of your first two days of picks to stack day three sure fire Hall of Famers. I can be in favor of trading back also. But my viewpoint isn’t that I won’t trade a day three pick because that guy could have been ToM Brady.

TBH,for the record, besides Harrison I did not look at #1 WR's because we DON'T NEED ONE. I looked at slot guys that are gettable If we moved up for WR3 or 4 who are you losing? Just curious

Kelce was day 3 as you stated. it's a CRAPSHOOT and you should know this by now

So lets trade Hurts for the #1 QB because he is the TOP TIER. Hurts was only a round 2 one of which you want to give away

Sure Howie moves around,so do other teams, but like Joe said it should be for specific player(and you'd better nail it) not to move just to move

You know most of the season I was willing to draft Jayden Daniels with our first round pick….to backup Hurts. He’s moved a bit higher than 22 at this point however. We’ll be seeing a bunch of him(twice a year) it appears.

OK you make the trade. I would not.Done. You posed the question and I answered it. You don't like my answer

I labeled it as grabbing one of the top tier ranked prospects in my view. That’s why you rank guys on a Big Board. Specifically top 5 prospect on the Big Board works for me. Specific enough.

I’m absolutely fine with your answer. That’s what I was wondering. I differ. Which is fine.

I made my case, yet you can't tell me who you are taking at 9(he may no be there anyway)

I listed it and repeated the quote. Not sure what else you want? Clearly he’ll be there as I listed 8 players.
