Is HR going to be gun shy getting a CB 1st and waiting until the 2nd for lines?

I think so. I want DeJean, but like Ham I think he wants the RG fixed for good

IMO Beebe would be fine in round 2,so IDK what Howie is looking at

What if we traded out of round 1 altogether? . I was talking to another guy about how interesting that would be because there is plenty of talent in 2 and 3(even 4). We were just kicking it around

Haven't read that much about the depth of certain positions, just CB and RG/RT. We need starting CB immediately and the guy Lane's been mentoring can be had in the 2nd, so I'd like to see the best CB we can get unless someone slides. I really don't want to lose early picks this yr as we have this window with players and contracts right now. We waisted last yr due to bad coaching and the secondary, fix them 1st

We got CJG back, that's not to be ignored

It wouldn't be disastrous to wait and grab someone who gets cut, just not how I'd prefer it. We have 28 mill but would like to draft that starting CB, then worry about lines and depth.

CJG/Brown and Blank are our safeties DeJean would really help us at CB and he can also shift to S if someone gets hurt or isn't playing well(which leaves us short at CB again),so really would like to add some viable future CB's if possible. But we need a future slot and TE2 which we have been effing with since Ertz left. We also need some RB's for the RBBC unless we are going to overwork Bark like they did in NY

Based on the prospects that have been linked to the Eagles, it’s fair to speculate that Philadelphia will target offensive linemen and cornerbacks in the early rounds of this year’s event.

I checked out Lloyd at RB. Trending as an early 4 pick. Personally, after reading about him I would not spend a pick on him. UDFA and alot of patience you could have something, but I just think finding another FA or another draftee would be alot better. I would rather take a guy like Cody Schrader or Ali(I think he is from Marshall without looking it up again). Lloyd has a drop history and injury history and is a very poor pass blocker. Nothing to see here IMO. I mean all that is coachable if you want to spend the time and resources. 7 more days to go

Doesn't say, he could suck as long as he plays 67'5 % of the snaps

He has to play that many of the snaps AND get double digit sacks….for it to become a second rounder in 2032.

The best defender isn’t out there even half the time? Was a backup?

The best defender impacts the game in a negative way for the opponent.  Reddick was absolutely not that guy in 2023.

IMO....draft will probably go 2 ways..  they have a target CB that they would trade up for....a CB/ OL at 22....and a few OL they target trading back.

I don't think they are opposed to CB at all... just think they have their specific target.

With salaries always increasing what would Reddick be paid in 2025-2026? Would you spend that same amount on  a round 2 rookie? You preach getting younger then get mad when we lose old guys

He’s not old. But you even were predicting he’d grab us a second round pick meaning you’d expect him to get double digit sacks and play the majority of the snaps. Which I think he will also. In my book that describes a very good player. Not a fan of tossing those away.

Look I was fine with Reddick he was a good player a tier below elite if you ask me… honestly wanted to keep him Over sweat but we opted the other way

Really the 2022 year was a standout one... sacks are nice... 10 in 17 games is ok... but they can be deceptive.  In 2022 it wasn't just the highest amount of sacks for him, but Reddick forced turnovers, and made big plays at big times.  2023 was a double digit sack year.... but no where close to 2022.   We like him...local guy, Temple etc.   Underdog type too.   But huge difference between the 2 seasons

How do you explain this FL?

Very simple....instead of 3 years 45 mil... the Eagles got him off the books... 2 years 31.5 million is the contract

The Jets have hidden talent that Riddick wouldn't play 67% of the snaps? I hope he gets double digit sacks .Why would I care what happens in that division?

Babin got like 20 sacks for us...  awful player chasing stats.  17 games.... getting 10 .... for a dude that chases that stat....should be doable.   I'm rooting for him.

For us, we got a guy much younger who had one less sack on way less snaps.   Add in the opportunity for another guy to play the difference in the snaps and also get the stats.   Plus $14 mil of cap space and a pick.   Good business.

Tony Pollard at $10.7 mil cap hit for one year isn't good business...  they could have signed Montgomery...taken around a $3mil cap hit and used the cap space for additional players.

If they were all in...that would have been a better move.  For 2023....and forward.

Going off script and trying something new. Based on my OWN PERSONAL RESEARCH(yours may differ and I'm sure so will the Eagles pro scouts)    A) Guys I would move up ALOT for(you decide how big the move needs to be) Bowers(TE), Alt(OT),Turner(Edge) Fatanu)T/G)   B) Guys I would move up a little for DeJean-(CB/S), Fuaga-(OT)   C)Guys I stand at 22 and hope 1 falls to me- Fashanu(OT),Barton(IOL),Latu(edge).Mims(OT),Powers-Johnson(IOL), Guyton(IOL),Chop Robinson       D) Guys I trade back for  Kris Jenkins(DL),Darius Robinson(edge), McConkeyWR)

Conclusion----- If we're looking for an OG who can probably start day 1,we should stand at 22. If we seek a T/G who can start at RG then take over for Lane you can move up ALOT,a little,or stand and still get one of those. If you want to help the secondary, for me, DeJean is the only way to go. I like others in round 2 so it doesn't mean we don't take one,but DeJean has the most versatility and is the best fit if I had to spend my round 1 on a DB .I have him anywhere from 16-21,or you can take the risk and hope he somehow falls in your lap at 22. If we stay at 22 Fashanu,Barton,Latu would be my top 3. I would however remind you I like Beebe at RG in round 2 and he is not that much worse than Barton,so Barton would really have to stand out big for us not to just wait until round 2. If we want a DT,  we can trade back for additional draft capital and take Kris Jenkins who is a fine prospect and I would have no issues if we did that if our targets in the other 3 scenarios were gone and or too expensive to move up for. Trading back for Jenkins(DT) would yield at least an additional 2 pick and with the then 3 round 2 picks(plus whatever),you can fill 3 positions we would need (CB,T/G,LB,S,or edge) I really see no legit reason to select a WR early. TOO MANY late guys that would be great here

Now I will take this(potentially BS 🤣) conclusion and see who we visited with since I read in our past we select like 60 some percent of our picks off our visit list which could narrow things down a bit. I assume the 40% would be late picks we had no need to visit with,so there is an even stronger chance the round 1,2,3 guys are on that list. I hope my Prozac lasts another 5 days 🤣

So after cross referencing, it appears to me that if we moved up it would be for 1 of 3 guys. Fatanu(T/G),Bowers or DeJean. Fanatu/Bowers would require the bigger lift  If we stay put,the targets should be Latu,Guyton,Chop Robinson. Now the question is would Howie select a DB first? Losing out on the Bower-a-thon would hurt, but that would take more capital than Howie wants to spend in my view and with so many T/G's in this draft there is no real reason to bust your draft on Fatanu. So if you think Howie will buck history,DeJean is the pick even with a small move up. If you don't think Howie has the confidence to pull that trigger it's Latu,Guyton,or Chop. I'm going to say Howie puts on his big Boy pants and makes the move for DeJean,so based on analyticals and "best guesses" I will stand by my(TD123) first choice of DeJean
