Don’t give up on Wilson yet.

You're right! I saw on Reuben Frank's and Dave Zangaro's show that he's been making plays. Also Elijah Moore. I hope Lemon is ready to take the field on Sat.

It wouldn’t surprise me if Lemon ends up on IR at the beginning of the season. Howie gets an additional roster spot to work with that way. He is likely together another roster spot by cutting the Long Snapper and then signing him to the Practice Squad, and then elevating him in Weeks 1-3 on game day. After 3 elevations Howie will either have to resign him to the 53-man roster or sign another Long Snapper to the Practice Squad for another 3 weeks of elevations.

Nice to hear. Now I hope he can find open receivers, You'd think with all his various OC's that he had he would have been taught this by year 7???? Doesn't matter what O you are in, you still need to make your reads, find your guy and deliver the ball on time as a QB. After 7 years maybe he finally gets it 🤣(most rooks already know this when they arrive in camp)

I don’t think Hurts will ever be tha kind of QB you are describing. However, as long as he keeps on winning the way he has, that deficiency will not matter a whole lot. He clearly knows how to "win ugly.”

Holding his back … or holding his front?

Practice can only do so much one of the biggest factors in football is missing in practice actually getting tackled. Especially for the QB.

We also seem to go through this every year where we don’t play the starters and the offense looks sluggish for the first few weeks of the season with actual game reps.

That is true for almost all NFL teams though. So it’s pretty much a "no harm, no foul” situation.

I'm sorry to announce, that job has already been taken.

Sounding like MCII might be making a case to be the starter at S over Epps when Dejean is moved down in the slot.

MCII also like 3 years younger then Epps

If it works out that way, Howie’s trade for MCII looks like a huge steal.

well, he does that himself about 20times a day.

but Sirianni has never played anyone in preseason. Why would that change now? I know it's a new offense, just like 2021, 2023, 2024 and 2025.

except for 21 and 22 where the starter did play a few series in the preseason but you are right we have not in the last 3 seasons

All the other 31 teams do the same thing?

Do they? All 31 teams sit there starters the entire preseason.

Bills HC already announced his starters will play a series in the preseason opener

Packers played the starters for a series or two

Bengals played starters

Just to name couple of the teams

just get to 18 regular season games so there's one less to worry about.

True, but I have him on ignore so I don’t have to see his self referential dribble. I only see a post of his if someone quotes him.

Week 1 is sluggish for all teams since barely any play starters in pre. Whatever our coach decides is fine by me. What I want to see is the battle for QB2. Our BU WR's are better than in years past and really give the BU QB's legit talent to throw to, so we should see if McKee is worth retaining with a nice raise(or trying to) or it would be a showcase for him to make his case to start somewhere. Cole has to show more consistency and I'm sure we'll see him some to validate him even being on our PS. Some nice rookie QB's in next years draft, so Cole needs to prove himself also. Old man Dalton hanging right in there

Going to be a huge battle for the last WR spot. Wilson may be the guy we keep to BU Wicks as the outside possession WR although we haven't seen him in that role yet, but he has the size. We need to really watch pre this year at that position

Eagles points on the first game of the season under Sirianni

2025 = 24 (scored TD first 3 possessions, then the FG, then the storm caused a delay, neither teams scored after that) vs Dallas

2024 = 34 points in Brazil vs Green Bay

2023 = 25 points in rain at New England with the infamous Gainwell start

2022 = 38 points at Detroit

2021 = 32 points at Atlanta

Not bad for a " sluggish" offense. Considering the 24 and 25 point games were in wet weather, the rest over 30, ALL away!

5 wins! 0 losses! 30.6 points per game!

Everyone wants the moment to mean something, that's football. Having the starting offense play anything on August 15 isn't going to do anything for September 13th. So much more reps between now and then that will matter. But tomorrow night, in the moment, we all want it to mean something. Every year same thing, just the nature of being a fan. we want everything to mean something, we want to see things ASAP. It is what it is. But I doubt Sirianni ever changes his approach that has been so successful for opening day.

Covey probably ends up being our punt returner again this year, so I think he makes the roster.

But Covey can't BU Wicks. Wilson can and maybe we see someone else step up for returns IDK. Covey has always been reliable however. Last year we kept alot of TE's, if we reduce that by 1(because we can) maybe we add that 7th WR instead. I would opt for doing this. Goedert, Mundt, Stowers would be fine, one on the PS. Pre 1 we will see who "drops the ball" These bubble guys can make it or not week 1. Although playing poorly may still give them another chance it's a mark against them. Really need to pay alot of attention tomorrow

I don't think you will see Lemon tomorrow. As our round 1 pick he's going to be handled with kid gloves. He is on the team no matter what and I can't see risking him to further injury although that does hamper his starting ability. May see him in pre 3 if he's up to it.

2021 = Hurts first time as starter, 2nd year in the league. Not crazy to start him then.

2022 = AJ Brown new on the team, not crazy to want to get him in the mix with still a young QB who started maybe 21 or 22 career games?

You would assume Lemon and Flowers would play if healthy. Same with Bell. Not sure the OL, Hurts, Barkley, Smitty etc need the experience.

I wouldn't put Hurts out there without the top OL. And I would definitely not want to put our starting OL out there at all in any meaningless reps. I believe that was absolutely the factor in 2024 for Barkley not going for the record, getting our OL the rest.

Dang my 31 PPG GOAL(30 is fine) is alive and well despite the fact "you know nothing at all"

The last few years 27/8 would be fine as we have the Defense to get the ball back and grind out the clock with the running game, so when you have that caliber of D no need to throw the ball into shaky situations. Still, I want to see the offense NOT do 3 and outs. The D should NOT have to save you every game

With the OL being the biggest factor IMO.

It's very simple A, B, C logic. You don't want to put your best skill position players out there unless you have the best protection for them. Our specific OL is not one that you want to put at risk for any injury if it isn't necessary. So therefore, you shouldn't put out your top skill guys.

IDK, I would like to hear any counter argument to that? The classic, we need to get the rust off isn't what I'm saying. I'm simply talking about playing Lane, Cam, Dickerson when it doesn't count. I don't think anyone feels the need to put those guys on the field until game 1?
