Wonder if that will even convince No Mas Fangio would have coached here last season?

Think the obvious coach we wanted to coach last year was Gannon hence the whole AS debacle is trying to match Gannons offer etc.

Fangio has enough credibility to hold his ground enough with Rosie.

Howie battled with AR and come out on top the only coach that even came close to unseating Howie was the Chipper and he had no clue how to build a roster and was to arrogant at the time thinking his scheme was more important then the players

The leadership takes a dive...when you take 2 gars sacks running out of bounds....miss seeing wide open guys...don't run out of bounds to stop the clock.....take a bad safety in the playoffs.   The mental midget stuff.  It's tough to lead when you make those pop Warner level mistakes.

These aren't anything that are tough plays that a seasoned vet needs to learn...this is basic football 101 stuff.   Does he really need to learn this stuff?

It's all symptoms of a QB used to just running his whole life.  Those are the guys who " hold the ball " too long.  This is a concern.    Mental development at the QB spot...not how much you can squat.   You lead by showing you can learn...not by squating more weight.

Yes and all of that was because teams figured out how to contain him

Big surprising news Vic Fangio officially hired as our DC lol 😂

Question is,will he get some rookie talent in here to work with? I don't mean UDFAs or a late 5th. Can he convince Howie to pull the trigger in round 2?. A coach has to have good players to work with(not necessarily studs) or no coach will succeed. We can't keep having the "Schwartz defenses" because Howie wants miracles from UDFAs and while once in awhile you get lucky(like Blank) we really need some upper level infusion at LB and DB

I’ll say I think we invest in the D I won’t say it will be through the draft or FA though but we will add guys to that side of the ball

We have interest in Kellen Moore as our OC I don’t think he would be a terrible hire honestly

???   When did I say he wouldn't?

I said he took the Miami job before Gannon went to AZ.

You said the drama that happened before the draft is why Fangio went to Miami.   Makes zero sense.

I still think the move to Chip was to let him fail so he could get fired....I also still to this day... think Lurie wanted to unload McCoy and Jackson... due to $$$  ... and Chip was used as the excuse.   The way the contracts were written with DeMarco Murray and Maxwell... we got out of them after 1 year and minimal dead $$.

They had that planned ahead of time, never did we see a player let alone two...get traded or released year 2 without monster dead money.

Logic would say we get free agents on the defensive side of the ball.

I think the obvious thing is we didn't want to lose BOTH coordinators....thinking that it would also lead to losing other coaches underneath them.

The secondary coach obviously was a big loss.

Eliot Shorr-Parks

@EliotShorrParks

Kellen Moore has put his QBs under center more than the #Eagles have with Hurts Here are passing attempts from under center,

per PFR Herbert, 2023: 57 Prescott, 2022: 95 Hurts, 2023: 20

The RBs under Moore also ran it more from under center than Eagles RBs did as opposed to shotgun:

, 2023: 83 Elliott, 2022: 149 Swift, 2023: 47

Wasn’t that our own doing though passing him up as the next DC even though he had the backing of the players… he even left to take the same position with the ravens

Right.... logic says it's similar to Duce ...  they didn't want to promote him, but weren't going to be able to keep him in same role and pass him over for that promotion.

Gannon stays...then he has no reason to leave.

Yeah, we always do patchwork and hope it sticks. Rarely bring any top rookie talent along. I mean high value guys

Yeah Hurts is the wrong QB for that. If he can't run amok we lose

Raheem Morris got the ATL HC job over Bellicheat

Malcolm Jenkins, Hargrave,  Reddick....those kinds of guys.... doesn't always have to be patchwork.

He is still free for Lurie...no excuse now...unless Lurie just doesn't want Belicheck in 2024?

Either they work out or they don't. Nobody really knows that for certain until it happens.

I know Lurie (2 sources, Howard Eskin, I forget the other) doesn't like Belicheck, but I'm pretty sure on the business side Lurie would be able to overcome his dislike for a shot at a SB.

Hurts had a good season. He didn’t regress. He did hold the ball way too long. But I don’t see that as because of him. Complaints from inside and out all labeled our O as long developing routes. Even when blitz was expected. Look at each incomplete pass against TB in the playoffs. Two drops by Goedert. But then 8 of the other incompletions were all similar. Blitz pressure forcing him to throw. But hitting his receivers in the back. None breaking off their routes. All unaware of expecting the ball to already arrive. Playcall should have been quick hitting routes from the start. We all predicted 75 percent blitz heavy Bowles approach. But long developing routes were called. Even with Empty backfields. But no adjustments from WR to cut off routes to account for blitz.

Cunningham, you have to ask yourself two fundamental questions concerning this: 1) why did Hurts not change the play when he felt a blitz coming on; and 2) why in the heck didnt he change his protection when he saw a blitz coming? Those two things are squarely on him. He could not or would not figure it out game after game after game. THAT doesn’t concern you?

Absolutely agree! Good football IQ.

I bet the Eagles’ D has as many as 8 new starters next year. That is a LOT!

Reddick and Blankenship should be locks.  At DL... we had a 4 DT rotation...so 3 will stay if Cox leaves.  Sweat is a question.   The other guys I'm sure one or two might stay.
