And Hurts wouldn’t be able to see over the entire left side…. Big area that needs improvement is attacking the middle of the field hard for a barely 6’2 QB to throw on OL guys that are are 6’6+

I was referring to The Brotherly Shove. I think your point is a real concern with Becton. I’m sure you’ve considered the thought of him possibly playing RG. Him and Lane side by side is some serious beef coming at people. That would be both sides of the line just massive large beings having their way.

Steen is like 6’6” 320lbs himself though

I as referring to the weight and muscle more coming at a D in The Brotherly Shove

Lane pretty much the same

Saints and Brees were masterful at moving the QB around to be able to see the entire field have to study them….

Well since clearly I wasn’t think of just a single play but the unit as a whole my first thought came to the effects on the passing game mainly the middle of the field which is already an area we lack in.

Ideally for a single play the benefit could be fine but we aren’t going to have an OL package like that for a single play

Jurgens the only peak hole on our Oline at 6’3”. I’d actually say Hurts is only 6’1”. That’s why they have a taller model as the prototypical QB. It’s a real limitation for him.

Having the three of those guys side by side I obviously was referring to that specific play. But we could use it for a more traditional Jumbo package.

It’s just insane the size these Oline guys are now. How big were the old Hogs Oline back in the day mauling people? Weren’t even close to the 6’8” 360 pounders.

IMG_0874.webpIgnore the bottom part…the top is the old Hogs Oline dominated in the ‘80s

6’2” 245 lbs in the middle ….our new CBs could hold up against that.

Official website designation for our draftees is telling. Q listed as CB. DeJean listed as DB. McMahon listed as C/G. Hunt the only player on the roster listed as OLB

And the opposite with the DL...how many edge guys are Reggie's size now???  6'5" 291 lbs???

Oline is a unit working together. It always sounds great to point to accolades of individuals. But when you can’t open a whole to run the ball in the big game what does it matter? Couldn’t run the ball for crap against KC. Does future HoF jackets change any of that?

Again... very simple concept that you are making complicated.

You have a solid 4....you get the 5th guy and now there isn't an individual weakness on your OL.

Which means ...the defense can't just attack one guy.

The Philadelphia Eagles cut the following four players on Monday, according to the NFL’s official transaction report:

DT Noah Elliss

WR/TE Griffin Hebert

CB Tiawan Mullen

OL Lecitus Smith

Yep it’s like how we saw the Cowboys attack Steen with stunts getting Parsons on him.

Pretty surprising stuff here. Lecitus was a legit backup option. Noah I can’t understand him being cut. Did he show up out of shape or something on these levels? He was a very key piece of depth for us. A legit backup Nose option. Heck was thinking could challenge to really get playing time. Noah really shocks me.

We're having another rugby player in camp - Harry Millander.

Right.... you get that last spot locked up and no holes.

Hoping this doesn’t stay lol though Gains would likely be a key piece still since he is the only other RB that can pass block besides Bark.

But hope otherwise Ship overtakes Gains for RB2

In time,he has to pay his dues

You were saying the RB didn’t matter it was all Oline. You weren’t alone. But we definitely are going to see how a lesser Oline and a top RB works out.

IDk that it's lesser. It's too soon to know. Just open a hole. Why I hope for less RPO and more play action. The RPO tends to freeze the O line. Maybe why those holes didn't appear. Bark doesn't need much of a window. He has a great burst, and he can punish LB's.

Still, there are major differences between how RPOs look in the college and pro games. In college, a forward pass beyond the line of scrimmage is illegal if any offensive linemen are more than 3 yards down the field. In the NFL, it’s a flag if a lineman is more than 1 yard downfield. That rule difference alone has a considerable impact, as college defensive coaches often point out.               This is what I was talking bout. The RPO prevents any penetration by the Oline because it's "reactionary" to whatever the Qb decision/play is run or pass. And while we are good at it,I hope we use it LESS,which sounds a bit odd,but IMO it would be more functionary as something mixed in. Play action would allow the O line more freedom, but you need to establish the run first to make play action effective. We got a RB that can do that so I would like to see a little less RPO and more  play action. Of course using Goedert properly is a big part of this especially the short game and hopefully the new Smith can add some windows for Hurts.
