What D scheme do two capable starting off ball LB not fit? What D scheme does a top pass rusher not fit? What scheme doesn’t need durabitly and quality from their S?

You know how Huff will be used? DeJean?,you have the scheme already? Amazing stuff. So 2 players out of 53 would be "all in?"

So none of our LBs are capable starters?  You know this for sure?

He was leading MVP candidate. Problem is…it was predictable…so all these professional D minds adapted …but we didn’t have any O mind that could adapt ourselves.

The perfect season would be winning the SB with a backup QB.   Just for the posts during the offseason.

Because it will be how the players were inspired by the injured QB... lol.

MVP last year was an off year.  QB on team with best record is automatically put at the top of the list.

I'm out to dinner. IDK what else Howie can do for Hurts(that has zero to do with LB's)

It was just that obvious to everybody but you..,probably at least one other here. Everybody could see how stale and predictable and lacking of an O scheme our O was.

So with a 10 point lead with those lackluster plays we could not do it another 30 minutes?

Agree....  the league is figuring out the read option.    That is my biggest concern.    You seem confident that the best QB in franchise history will be able to run an NFL offense outside of the read option.

I'm still unsure.   I'm however sure that the supporting cast is there.    I'm sure that if he is a solid QB... the offense should flourish.   He doesn't have to be elite , similar to Purdy.  Just my concern, can he do it without the read option?

36 sacks and 59 hurries. Now Hurts obviously cutdown massively on these numbers by being an escape artist. Once again…he didn’t make the escape on the safety successfully. The finish of the season teams threw the blitzes real hard at us. When they noticed the playcalling was predictably long developing routes without having receivers adapt and read with Hot routes. There was a ton of pressure on our QB last season. Eye test made this unmissable to notice…for those that actually watched the games.

Ohhh...I think some of those sacks were on him for sure.

You do realize that stepping out of bounds for a 2 yard loss instead of throwing it away counts as a sack?

And a minus 1 for fantasy leagues...lol.

The commentators are on the field making audibles?(or not making them?)

Every single play…not just according to me…according to the commentators. But your blame and expectation is Huets should have audibles every play and just taken over as our Offensuve Coordinator and playcaller…Head Coach also I assume. Just not the guy that scores the TDs. That you label him ball hog for.

Which is a mistake by Hurts…after the blockers didn’t do their jobs though, correct? Somebody had to be chasing him out of bounds after all.

Or what I harped on a ton is how the playcalling when the whole stadium knew the blitz was coming called for long developing routes. The O scheme was pretty much Hurts will make a big play reliant.

So 36 sacks, 59 Hurries...  95 total in 17 games.... so about 5.6 times per game?   Didn't he have like 650 or so Pasa attempts?

But idk.. seems like our OL got top PFF grades which they don't take Hurts escaping  into account...just the individual guys on each snap.

Curious how that looks compared to other QBs and the protection from their OLs.

There it is....a specific example of a mistake by Hurts.

Of course the whole offseason apparently was focused on how Hurts just needed to not risk himself and get down…borderline coaching him to play scared.

Yeah....I was harping on the empty backfield where the 6 defenders were coming....right there for the QB to see.

The routes are secondary to the QB calling for the extra blocker.

I’ll fill you in on the answer…other QBs weren’t hurried as much

You break off on a Hot Route. Or to begin with you make a playcall countering the very expected blitz.

I agree...he needs to go all out these next 3 years.. . This is his window.  He isn't going to last long term.  He needs to run aggressive in order to be effective.  The running is his best tool.

Really?  You have the chart...I'd love to see it.

Yes...but you need to account for the extra rusher first.

Geno Smith faced 60 hurries

So when everybody in the stadium is expecting the blitz…who’s fault is this?
