But Gainwell isn't a 1.   He is a 2nd string.

He was the number one some how to start last season…Siri

I agree... I would do away with preseason if it were me.  I'm 100% with you.  Why do these guys need reps in preseason?  Not anyone who has ever played snaps before in the NFL.   I'm with you.  But Gainwell playing 4 snaps isn't odd to me... in preseason game #1.  The last preseason game, we probably don't see the top 3 RBs play at all... maybe top 4... so if you see Barkley, Gainwell, Shipley and whoever else not playing... that means they probably made the roster.  The first 3 guys for sure.

LOL... I hope Gainwell plays the first snap and carries for 6 yards.... you will call him the starter the rest of the season.   Barkley could get 2500 yards from scrimmage... and to you Gainwell was the starter...lol.

Washington got out of the trade discussions is why. So the Steelers he prefers over Pats and Browns…not a shocker.

Right,so why was Gainwell playing,as a comparison to other guys that ran the same plays? Is his roster spot in jeopary? not that it is,but I found it weird

IDK... I saw the podcast a while back ... probably over a month ago.   his face lit up when they talked Pittsburgh.   This wasn't anything recent.

Because Barkley is the 1st string ... so they started the second string for a series.  Is it that odd?  As you said, some teams had their 1st string guys in there.

Yeah I thought it was odd,since you know what he can do after 3 years playing on the field with the 1's

I also believe the teams communicate before the games and say who they are playing and for how long. I mean you can't have the 1's playing against the 4's. From a safety standpoint you wouldn't want that much of a mismatch,So maybe the Ravens wanted to see a second string D player they had,so we played Gainwell

Swift only got two touches that first game last season. Siri did name Gainwell the starter. But Siri got saved by Gainwell getting injured. That forced Siri to give the ball to Swift. Swift ran for like 175 yards week two and kept running all the way to the Pro Bowl.

It’s Moore’s O now. Hoping he’s making the decisions. So guys need to earn jobs. Don’t think Siri can just shove Gainwell in anymore.

Every reportere saying how good Gainwell looks... even Moore.  Not sure anything is being shoved down any throat?    

We even had some guys say that Gainwell will sign with another team and be a starter next year.   Will be hilarious if he does and does better than " Special talent" Miles Sanders...lol.

At RB why not just play the rooks or guys that never play,we have enough of them to look at,so why risk Gains even for 1 series? Just a senseless risk

Shipley is more explosive and dynamic than Gainwell. Just a matter of time until Shipley starts gaining more touches than Gainwell.

1.  drafting Lane over Ziggy

2.  2017 the 49ers cleared cap space

3.  2019 Eagles didn't have cap space because they overpaid Alshon, Desean and Malik Jackson

4.  They made the Saints trade instead drafting a rookie safety

5.  Gainwell getting 4 carries per game last year.  That all important first snap vs New England.
