Sounds less than ideal way to start our first round picks career honestly. Focused more on team than individual here. Is what it is.

Sounds all in.   But...it depends your mindset.   If you are simply an Eagles fan....like without any agenda for a specific player....then you want the best unit on the field.

If your concern is simply the career of one specific player...then maybe it bothers you?  Idk.... most rookies don't play...to me any experience or contribution they can make is a plus while learning the game.  Nothing like being on the field during real games.

Dejean takes the slot,Q plays for Slay. Not hard

I’d say most first round picks DO play. Being a true Eagles fan means you want what’s best for the franchise. Having Q be the shutdown CB for many years to come is what I assumed should be the goal. But the plan is to sacrifice the start of his career because of roster makeup. Would you take Revis Island and put him in the slot because you other CBs can’t play the Slot?

So you have 2 starters outside... a very talented rookie.   ... why complain that the rookie is going to play instead of sitting behind the outside guys?

I mean..the kid is talented.  Why is it difficult to think he could excel inside or outside and they put him inside because it's the best unit... meaning that with the 3 guys on the field,  they feel it works best with him in the middle?

In the short term...it puts the team all in... in the long term it only helps the kid.

We have Bark for 3 years. The top WR tandem in the league is re-signed. We revamped our defense with young hungry players. Hurts was re-signed for big "now give it to me" money. We are searching for TE2 and 3 and who can play the slot with some degree of professionalism. We lost the Reddick cancer in lieu of a guy who is up and coming. We revamped the coaching staff. Other than a LB or 2 upgrade IDK what else Howie can do to be all in?

DeJean is fifth CB right now. Would need two CBs to go down for him to takeover a starting role mostly full time. I’m sure they’ll find ways to work him in.

Why are we sacrificing the start of his career.

Again..tell me specifically what you would do differently?

You are making a faulty assumption that Q isn’t one of our top two CBs. That’s to begin with. In fact I think he’s our best CB…period. But we don’t just have two…we have three guys that look like they can ball that only play outside CB. So their non-versatility is what’s forcing the Q to the Slot move.

If Q plays slot he will totally forget how to play outside CB and will need another 2 years to re learn it 🤣 DOOOOMED

BTW the year we won the trophy there were no indivduals,it was won by a TEAM of underachievers who put together the best 4 games in team history because they had to give 120%

Isn't that realistic?   Being that we have the other 3 guys outside?

Weren't you all about taking time with him?

And what's the difference... if they complete a 20yard pass against us...does it matter if it's outside or inside

The unit is what matters.  Why do you concern yourself specifically with all this pigeon holing inside a box type stuff.

So you’d play Revis in the Slot because your other CBs couldn’t man that position. You don’t value that outside CB role nearly as highly as I do clearly.

Inside Mitchell will be able to matchup physically more...instead of any cushion or soft zine.  Will be great getting him in the middle of the action early in his career.

Wow... Q is Revis?  Already?  Why didn't you tell us all this?

And the usual creating drama over nothing.    You can see why the wedding planning was stressful.

I do think it should be a priority to make sure Q becomes as close to a lockdown outside CB as possible. When over and over predraft the hypotheticals about whether we should draft DeJean with our first round pick kept being discussed….my question was can he be a quality outside Cb? So I’m very consistent here on this subject clearly.

I don't get it..... you put your best unit on the field...when did anything else become the priority for an all in team?

I pretty much did if you listened to everything I was saying leading up to the draft. Revis is just one of the most notable examples for everyone to understand my point though obviously.

DeJean, but he isn't ready to play yet and until he CAN play we don't know if he can handle that. He said "I will play wherever they want me to play". The kid is a competitor and just wants to play-ANYWHERE. I love the kids attitude.

Q is our top CB so anybody else
