Slay not the same as he once was but still a pretty good CB, Rodgers-the forgotten man seems like he will start outside next to Slay. Ringo- been neck and neck with Rodgers for the outside job gives us a solid 3rd option outside in case of injury Mitchell- who probably going to start in the slot. DeJean- who got hurt coming back from hamstring but was in the mix before that injury. And the bigger thing 4/5 of those guys are still young Ringo and Q our best outside CBs

But he also was nearly unstoppable at getting open in a phone booth(a reference only old people can understand LOL). Right,FIRST he was the clutch guy,the go to on 3rd and 4. The YAC was the fault of the defense.

Think he’s focused on quick hitting passing game added into the repertoire. 2.3 seconds and throw it. Probably should always won’t quick plays that get the ball out fast Seattle done that, Saints have done that every team in the NFL has done this should be a huge stable….. but going to have plays that take longer to develop going to take shots plenty of opportunities to move the pocket and attack different areas of the field

If you have the talent for getting open those yards will come. You treat them like they are 2 different guys. Why would we want a "non specialist"? The big Power TE's will fight for YAC,the slot guy is usually small and fast,he will rely on speed to get open. You could put a bigger slot in if it's a mismatch like Wilson COULD be. Any player with a mismatch will get YAC,that is the point of having a twitch(aka cone and shuttle drills in the combine). Why do you think they run those?. Like you quoted in my post stating we are talking about two different things. Like o stated also…you always are looking for YAC after a reception. I’m specifically talking about YAC Creation designed plays…of which I’m including reverse, jet sweeps, screens and such in.
August 19, 20242 yr 6 minutes ago, GreenbleedinNC said: You don't "create YAC",that is on the player to create. You can call plays that play to his strengths on an mis match. Shouldn't every player WR TE RB be a YAC guy? Isn't that what we pay them for? Doesn't every one of those guys try to gain as many yards as possible? Keep explaining over and over that yes we want everybody to get yards after they catch the ball….but this is not what I’m discussing or talking about. I’m talking about those group of plays that you only call based on expected YAC production.

Like you said he could hit those guys in a phone booth. get the 4 yards and the first down, That is a slot first job,not YAC

That was the design of the play to take advantage of Goedert’s YAC creation. They call that talent. Every receiver should want YAC,thats on the exploitation of defense. It's not YAC "creation" it's forcing a mismatch

Not the same thing. But I can line a guy up in the Slot that can perform some of these YAC Creation plays from that area.

August 19, 20242 yr Not sure how you aren’t comprehending this. Been tons of guys utilized in this way throat NFL history. Doesn’t mean they can run routes or track the ball downfield well, block…or all the responsibilities of any position other than just being good with the ball in their hands.
