Tricky. Should keep 4 IF you don't want Milton snatched off the PS. I think you can special designate 2 of those?.HUGE HUGE week for Asmith. How he plays vs the Vikes -could roster him or send him packing. He is on the bubble. With Dotson in that fixed that spot we wanted fixed. So if he plays a solid game and looks the part he can stay. I really like the kid we need to see the juice now. I hope they work him alot to make an informed decision

The different rules now...allow you to put your draft picks on the roster...then you put guys like Ross or Campbell on the PS because if they are claimed,  they need to go on a roster.   Teams aren't looking to take on veteran " projects " and use a roster spot for them.   It's why you might see Avonte Maddox on PS .

Different mindset now.  I think the rookie WRs...and Milton or whoever wins this elite battle of #4 RB..are put on the 53.... but guys who end up starting on the PS...will actually play in the game.

The Chiefs don't have their #2 from last year McKinnon.... so who was expected...or obviously going to make the roster besides Pacheco?

Clyde Edwards Helaire

" I want more explosiveness from a backup RB"   as you say...

Yeah...an " explosive play specialist"  ..that's great as a #3 RB...change of pace guy...who touches the ball at a good ratio of his snaps.   The #2 guy needs to be able to keep the entire offense functional.  Know the plays, the protection,  the routes etc.  That's exactly what we know we have with Gainwell. You think a new OC is going to bring in an undrafted rookie to pass block on a random play and risk F###king up the play or worse get someone hurt?

Why.... because I just can't get over game 1 of last year???  Lol.

Because Gainwell knew all the plays from his previous three years in Siris O to Moores O this year?

Ganwell is not a " Siri guy" ...he is an Eagles guy....for one more year.

A coach's guy isn't only going to get 4 carries a game.

Very clearly has been forced into action as Siri’s guy that first three years. But sounds like this TC he knew he had to step up big time. New sheriff in town of Moore he had to impress. Plus he’s in his contract year. He wasn’t just going to be given it this season…even though Siri is here as HC still. He has to earn it Moore I’d think.

I do understand how it was easy for you No Mas to just jump to the conclusion that Gainwell would maintain the same job. Easy for you to do having so very little knowledge of all his competition  this summer. With you being such a fan of Gainwell. Talking about him being a starter even just last offseason.

Who resigned on a cheap one year deal....

CEH was a 3rd string RB, no longer on the roster .. behind a returning starter.

Gainwell... was #2,  under contract... as the ONLY returning RB on the roster.

Much different situation.

Your issue with Gainwell is your issue alone.  No reports at all about Gainwell not making the roster.   Shipley drafted to take over the #2 spot after Gainwell's contract runs out.   The other guys fighting for the 4th RB spot.  That's the reality

Yeah teams don’t want to take on veteran projects like Sermon and Penny and place them on the 53 man roster…only stash them on the PS…oh wait

Because Gainwell is reliable. The offense can function with him.   You have this crazy idea that all these offenses are so different.

You are living 30 years in the past.

Oh wait...  a 4th RB....  signed during the beginning of the offseason....

Yeah...it's the same as poaching a guy as September is approaching??    Clueless

McKinnon had 21 carries last year compared to Edwards-Helairs 70

Very clearly you are the only one thinking 4 carries was " forced"

Very clearly the new Sheriff in town has has him #2 the whole time.   Very clearly the guy they spent almost $40 mil is going to be #1.

McKinnon is a better pass catching back where as Edwards-Helair is more a pure rusher. Wait…that couldn’t be a possible thought could it? Have two backups with different qualities to compliment and utilize in differing scenarios. If only somebody had thought of this impossible concept before …somewhere.

But you don't understand that you are completely ALONE in thinking Gainwell was in danger of not making the roster?

That's the big step for you.   You are like the Dallas fans from when we were kids just being different for attention... you fail to realize that being alone often times means you are completely wrong about a situation.

Yes I do believe having actual O scheme is different than what Siri had.

So I don’t think knowing Siri’s "O” gave Gainwell the same leg up going into Moore’s O.

You are alone in thinking Gainwell was ever in danger of not making the team

Completely ALONE!

I totally realize I was alone. Alone innxomsodering only keeping three RBs. Not wanting to roster Sermon on a Sb team. Not wanting to roster Penny last year. Considered even this year only rostering three RB. Having something like that terrible team and coach of the Bronze Standard you labeled him did. Shipley is very strong receiving back..,so considered pairing him with a physical rusher. Pretty basic simple football logic.

Just like o was believing in Hurts …alone!

Completely ALONE!

Just like I was believing our team could rally from such a terrible start in 2021 and still make the playoffs…ALONE!

I don’t think I was ALONE in understanding how superior a talent Swift was to Gainwell…but you,  FL and Siri were ready to start Gainwell over Swift.

Do you believe that Gainwell has an advantage playing 3 years with the other players on the team?

Do you believe Gainwell has an advantage knowing he was going to play for Moore the day Moore was hired?

Do you believe Gainwell got a jump on any rookie who didn't know where he was going to go until basically May?

Do you believe there was any contact between Moore and any of the offensive players prior to the rookies getting on the team?

Do you  believe that coaches value NFL play more than college when looking at reliability in their backups?

If you believe in any of these...then you believe Gainwell had the leg up and advantage over all these rookies and like the rest of the world,  had zero chance of getting cut.

I was ALONE in stating the Cards could beat us last season also….ALONE

Great change of subject as usual...when the discussion is Gainwell....you lost that...so spin and change per usual.   Planet Ham

Says the guy who has zero or very minimum knowledge of his competition. Very obvious to you being you didn’t know any of the other RBs. So of course you didn’t question anything. You have no idea anything hardly about these other RBs.
