Planet Ham This was the whole point I brought up in any challenge to Gainwell…is if we actually only kept three RBs instead of four. That would we want to have a backup that brought different qualities than the other? A pass catcher and a pure rusher. Not rocket science. Plenty of teams have done it. Just pointed out how that SB winning team did exactly that. But it’s been around the NFL for decades…this idea of roster management.
August 24, 20242 yr You know for those of us that think the guy that got 70 carries in Helaire wasn’t behind the guy that got 21 in McKinnon.

Just Bronze Standard Coaching roster management and utilization that’s won the last two SB that way.

You are doing your usual change the subject. The difference between you and the rest of the world is humility. Howie, Siri, Hurts....all have the humility to admit they made mistakes last year, that's why this year is going to be a good year ( barring injuries) You don't understand that. It's why you are alone in Gainwell or the idea of Lurie's master plan being to fire Siri after a successful season. It's why you can't admit Sanders is nothing special. It's why you think anyone remembers anything you said about Kyle Pitts. You lack humility. Instead of discussing the team like a normal person...every post has to be about how you predicted this or that or a way to promote your pro Hurts, Reddick or any one of your boys...or anti Howie, Siri ...etc. The Philadelphia Eagles are not about you! You have zero impact om the team!

So of course you didn’t question anything. You have no idea anything hardly about these other RBs. The competition was for RB 4. Gainwell was always RB2.

I've said a million times...we needed a RB 3 to carry the ball ... that was the issue. You got nothing from those guys. We could have used CEH as RB 3 last year to get some carries. Still would have had Gainwell as #2. Why would Gainwell be #2....same as McKinnon... snaps and the passing game roles.
August 24, 20242 yr Yeah if you believed your statements about me you would think I didn’t come straight out and say I thought Gainwell earned the second string RB job this year. Which I very clearly did do.

August 24, 20242 yr I have no issue Shipley getting more carries or even touches than Gainwell... as the season goes on. Gainwell will get more snaps though. We run 70 plays... Gainwell getting 4 carries for 18 or 22 yards isn't going impact much. But getting anything from RB 3 is something we didn't get last year. You obsess over Penny and Shermon... but never bring up how Scott was a waste, while being the highest paid RB on the roster. Penny and Shermon had no cap impact. Scott's wasted cap space is gone forever. Hey but Scott is such an interesting story... lol. F#$k the story... do something on the field as the highest paid at your position!

Edwards Helaire was the starter until Pacheco unseated him. Then had 70 carries compared to 21 of McKinnon. But this all goes exactly into what I was discussing. If we only kept three RBs wouldn’t we want a more complimentary other RB that could be a physical more pure rusher…like Milton…he’s not even the only one we had here that could perform that role. Shipley is a good player…you’ll see. I know you think it’s absolutely impossible he could unseat the All World Gainwell. But Gainwell hasn’t really done very much at all his first three seasons. Gainwell hasn’t had some fantastic career where he can’t be replaced. He had to step up big time this offseason. Which he did. Great job. Well most likely keep 4 RBs anyway…not factoring in my whole discussion of keeping only three.
August 24, 20242 yr Did I come out after the last practice where Gainwell had his best ever practice and declare he earned the second string job?
August 24, 20242 yr Boston Scott....such a great story. The highest paid RB on the team, giving zero! bUt sErMon and pENny were the problem! Take emotion out of things and your mind will work clearer.

Could it be for their potential to add a pure physical rushing element? Could it be exactly over what I stated…except my discussion was what if we only keep three RB instead of 4. Is that such an impossible 53 man roster choice to you?

He wasn’t ever just forced in like Gainwell was from the start.

Or... because you hate a team from New York that hasn't been relevant for over a decade... and he gets garbage stats vs them ...that for you it seems that way. Go check again.
August 24, 20242 yr Last week of the season in 2019 with Wentz we turned to Boston Scott with our chance of making the playoffs on the line. He responded by scoring three TDs.
August 24, 20242 yr The worst move in the RB room of he last 2 years was paying Scott last year. Simply because " it's a great story" and he got garbage stats vs the Giants. That's emotional impact. With Gainwell nobody " likes " him. No great story. He just does the solid job as a backup.

August 24, 20242 yr Author 1 hour ago, joemas6 said: The different rules now...allow you to put your draft picks on the roster...then you put guys like Ross or Campbell on the PS because if they are claimed, they need to go on a roster. Teams aren't looking to take on veteran " projects " and use a roster spot for them. It's why you might see Avonte Maddox on PS . Different mindset now. I think the rookie WRs...and Milton or whoever wins this elite battle of #4 RB..are put on the 53.... but guys who end up starting on the PS...will actually play in the game. Agreed, you need to keep the future guys in play. Unless they really stink. I hope ASmith has a good enough game he doesn't get cut altogether. he has the goods he is just coming along slower than I had hoped. Could be him and a vet on the PS. IDK that we are ready to give up Covey. He is a jack of all trades like Gainwell I like Wilson more than Ngata,so I think Ngata goes. Still battles to be fought Saturday
