Defensively, Dallas may have done even better. Per Pro Football Focus, second-round defensive end Marshawn Kneeland had three solo tackles, three stops and a pair of hurries in 26 preseason snaps. Fifth-round cornerback Caelen Carson had six tackles (four solo) in his first preseason game against the Rams and Marist Liufau, another third-round pick, looks to be the team’s starting strongside linebacker. This is all after their top pick T Guyton has looked good. Obviously stinks that it looks like the cowboys had yet another excellent draft.
August 26, 20242 yr The Bears had offered the Pats a third rounder for Judon…but only after he agreed to sign an extension. Not sure why that didn’t work out and he was traded to the Falcons instead.

If we could just get him working some of these create with the ball in his hands groups of plays…he could contribute. But Covey would be next after Dotson at this point for sure. The rook isn’t ready to dress on gamedays yet. I’d dress Wilson over him also. Multiple is good....the fresh guy for that stuff... orbit motion, end around, fake end around etc. Sure Dotson can do it.. for me I like the ability to keep the foot on the gas. Keep the main guys fresh... you run a couple deep routes and or a mix of a lot of motion..that takes it's toll on the cardio... a fresh A Smith sprinkled in could be a nice asset.

Right now the guys that aren't ready... much different in 4 months time.
August 26, 20242 yr Looks like the first round Packers pick at RG isn’t ready to go. So they will be starting a guy that has very questionable endurance. They had to rotate with him last season over this. This is good for us…c’mon Jalen Carter!

Like...you seem to get it at RB... since you don’t like Gainwell, you put this crazy thought out there thar he was fighting to make the roster. Because you can envision the rookies getting better and stepping up to a bigger role. But with A Smith.. and seems with DeJean... because they are GBs guys , all you do is bring up that they aren't ready right at the moment. For me... I'm looking to get Shipley, ASmith, DeJean ....your boy Q... all of them ready to make an impact by the end of the season. Corey Clement wasn't ready at the beginning of the SB season... he sure was for the Superbowl. Instead of concerning yourself too much about now... let's just look at the big picture at the potential that can be by the end.. long time to get everyone up to speed...especially the rookies.

That’s the question that matters…right now. Halfway through the season…or three years from now is a different topic.

Messing with his helmet/facemask, looking around….he just wasn’t set and ready to ball when the snap occurred. Didn’t have real sticky coverage from any of the snaps I saw him. One things that’s a huge part of playing Slot is also run responsibilities. Fangio made a statement about how much a Slot CB really has taken over the old 4-3 LB role. He had two run plays he played terrible on, Again....just the movement really matters... playing with and against the real players....when there is a scheme... that's when all those little details matter.

August 26, 20242 yr 1 hour ago, cunninghamtheman said: I don’t believe in that theory at all. Players need to be able to play positions. Not looking at trading up early round two for a guy that can’t play any certain position very well. Rosie clearly doesn’t draft high regardless of position…we know that. He’s here now. We’ll see what he can do. Thought you being so high on him you had thoughts of him being a shutdown outside CB…or Slot or dynamic S talent…something. Just figured you had a reasoning more than just —-athlete. Isn't BPA...best player available? Player as in the guy plays the game... football player...not athlete....that would be BAA.... not BPA.
August 26, 20242 yr 1 hour ago, cunninghamtheman said: Draft is over. We’ll see about if he proves to be a round one talent. Have you seen some of the summers these other draft picks are having? The fall and winter are what matters.

I didn’t think DeJean looked good. Didn’t have tight coverage. Wasn’t ready for the ball to be snapped. Bad reactions to the run. But at least he’s back, healthy and can start improving. That’s why I thought it was important for him to play this final PS game. The kid needed it. It’s a starting point for him.

I’m sure everybody has a different definitions surrounding BPA. I think of it as not disregarding whether I guy has a position…but not trumping by position. Like just taking the better G over a lesser T because of position prioritization. How do you even rank a guy you don’t see actually playing any specific positions? Being good at multiple positions is great. But not the same as possibly could play one of any of these positions. One of the main exceptions I could think of would be the YAC Creation Specialist. Maybe not great at any one position but good with the ball in his hands…and usually a return man. Not many of them go early second round though.

August 26, 20242 yr I’d think we all want all these players to develop and improve. But season is upon us. Week one depth chart is:….then can just go from there.

Again...Corey Clement wasn't ready in the beginning either. Smallwood was ahead of him. When saying you would play Maddox in the slot in Brazil if Q got hurt....why isn't that obvious, who else is the choice? It seems like you are just trying to make it sound negative that it won't be DeJean...who cares? That's not why he was drafted....to play a major role in game 1.
August 26, 20242 yr I mean...that's why it's dumb to think Gainwell was fighting for a job .... obviously at the start he is the safe #2. You don't cut that guy if you are a contending team
