Beat me to it.

The Jets have to make a decision, is the rest of the roster ready to compete now? Because if they think it is, they have to bring somebody in because Wilson is flat out brutal, he's not progressing at all and he's killing their offense, with the receivers they have all they need is somebody competent to throw the football.. I'm not Wentz biggest fan but he's ten times the QB Wilson is.

It would have to be someone like Wentz ... doubt they'd give up much in the way of draft capital to bring someone in since they just dealt a decent load to GB for Rodgers (who should be back next year ... so whoever they bring in would likely be on a 1 year deal).

Bringing someone in would be admitting Wilson was a monumental bust --- something the rest of the NFL already knows. Right now, there are some options, but the ones that involve trades are shrinking as more QBs get hurt. Winston might have been available before the Carr injury, but not likely now. I think the Bengals' situation is tricky because Burrow's injury likely has a high chance of becoming a season ender every time he plays on it. So far, this is after 3 weeks. I expect a couple more QBs to get hurt in the early part of the season where every team believes they are still in the mix. Then you have teams like Chicago where their guy is playing like garbage and blaming the coaching (not a good sign that a young QB will continue to improve). Teams are dragging their feet right now, because all the FA QBs are still there. Right now I think teams are in the "wishful thinking" stage hoping that everything will be fine. My expectations? Burrow will miss more games than he plays. Wilson isn't mentally capable of being an NFL starting QB. Fields was incredibly overrated last season and has decided his talent is more important than learning the game.

Truth of the matter is none of the three make them significantly better. We are talking a difference of maybe one or two wins tops. That means nothing in terms of making the playoffs, but everything in terms of getting a higher pick.

They also know what some of you don’t seem to realize and that is Wentz isn’t that much better than he is. None of these "other options” make the Jets playoff contenders so what would be the point in brining them in? The Jets are smart to just keep throwing Wilson out there. It gets them closer to getting a higher pick. On a side note if Joe Douglas who was basically in the Eagles organization when they drafted Wentz doesn’t want the guy then I really doubt any team this year will.

With respect get the F out of here, Wilson has a career completion percentage of 55%, even at less than 6.5 yards per attempt with more picks than TD's. The Jets have decent receivers and a defense good enough to keep them in any game, with a better QB they make the play offs. Wentz may not be a great leader of men, but the Jets only need someone to throw the ball with some sort of competence and even at his worst Wentz never threw more picks than TD's.
