TK. Tk there was significant hope he could take another step up especially after 2024 where he had 76 points. He’s been MIA in their postseason runs for the most part. He is also making about 2.5+ mil more than Dvorak

There are two reasons we are not advancing. 1 is that we have been playing playoff hockey for nearly 3 months now. No breaks, every game and point mattered. That took all the energy out of them. That also is the main reason most of the guys are hurt. Then they were suppose to get at least 4 day before round 2. They got less than 48 hour notice. Carolina was off for 7 days. They were also resting guys towards the end to season since their seed was set. They are the well rested and non injured team.

Number 2: Our Power Play stinks.

Toch’s system isn’t the issue. They were the best team after Olympic break. Now they are completely gassed and injured.

There’s a chance without the Olympic break happening (doesn’t happen every year) they might not make the playoffs either. they are gassed from playoffs every night from that point on but conversely that Olympic break also helped them get reorganized/refocused, healthier and more juice to get here too. If we are being honest, they looked like they were dead in the water prior to that stoppage. They had lost 14 of 21 games going into the break so they were winning at a .333 clip. Credit to the Flyers for playing well down the stretch, turning their season around and being in almost every game. went to 9 OT or SO games after the Olympic break (nearly 40% of their games). Won 8 of 9. That’s a ridiculous stat cause odds say probably shouldn’t win OT/SO at a .889 clip (heck most of the league didn’t or doesn’t).

Carolina had the 2nd most points in the NHL. They might be the best or second best team in the league. The Flyers played them tough in the regular season. the Flyers tended to play everyone tough as they had 34% of their games went to OT. So they generally were in a bunch of close games. Think it’s due to PP issues, style of play and the talent they have and where they are in the rebuild. 34% of the time got themselves points that way and sometimes another winning shootouts or 3 on 3 hockey.

Imo injuries didn’t help, PP is a disaster and Carolina just exerting their style and their talent is winning out. That said 3 different playoff runs/teams for Tocchet. all 3 had the similar type of result offensively. I tend to agree with you that running out of gas and their lack of power-play (also lack of great playoff experience and not as talented as Carolina) but if we get back here next year, and it’s the same thing then probably need to start having the convo as it begins to more of a pattern.

like tkachuk. Hes 27 and i think he can take another step and get back to his 35 and 37 goal seasons in 2022 and 2023. But he’s also not a center. He’s a LW.  So you still have issues at C going forward. Add on his goals have begun dropping off but he’s also Missed more time

Forerster has been very injured but played through it. The eye test tells me that. Last game he had some burst back but he is still way off. If you compare his first 5 games back with all the games after, it’s night and day. I would argue he is one of the best players on the team, if not the best. So yeah, it makes a difference. Other guys are hurt too but playing through them. The injuries might be disclosed after season.

This ain’t the nba. These guys will play through bad wrists, shoulders, knees, ankles, etc. NBA players take off for hang nails and also get rest days when they shouldn’t need them.

We can say the injuries hurt them, but every team in the playoffs has guys played through injuries due to the grind of the season and just playoffs. Connor McDavid was playing with a fractured ankle and foot. I’m sure the hurricanes have some guys also banged up. Maybe not to the Flyers extent but you are never gonna get thru the nhl playoffs unscathed. That’s just the nature of the NHL playoffs. Next year if we make the playoffs they probably will also have guys banged up and playing thru it.

Carolina has been a significantly better team from start to end of the season. Reason finished with 2nd most points in the nhl. they could’ve finished with more if they didn’t sit guys the last week of the season. They also have an excellent coach. He’s finished in 1st or 2nd place in our division for 6 consecutive years and 5 of 6 years had 2nd or 3rd most points in the nhl. That team is very good. They play a hard style to combat, very well coached and unfortunate at this stage more talented then the Flyers.

Sanhiem is also hurt. If you watched at all this year besides just when they made the playoff push, you could see who is playing gassed/injured vs who isn’t just good enough.

Again, for the 4 time, Carolina was resting all their guys at the end of the season. They got more breaks and have fresher legs.

If we weren’t hurt or gassed, this series could have gone either way. We probably still lose but it might be in a game 7.

First, you can’t have a discussion without trying to call people names. Every time people don’t agree with you eventually revert to name calling. That’s what you do. It’s not just me. You do it with everyone at certain point.

Secondly, when I told you about the Phillies vs dodgers last year because I’ve watched all their games and I watched a ton of the Dodgers you didn’t wanna believe me. you did the same crap. So it didn’t matter if I watched all the Sixers or Flyers all games. Because you’d do it anyway. At least E45 and I can have discussions even if we don’t agree. We don’t agree on a lot. But we can have a convo of disagreements with each other and not revert to names every time we disagree.
