AJ Brown is a dog. The only negative thing about him is he cares too much. Every year the media tries to drum up something with him and the team, and every year he gives them a "shut the F up" game.

Best WR this team has ever had. And I feel like they only tap into 75% of his ability.

I don’t believe that at all. They came out the gate passing

We need more of it, those first two drives were a thing of beauty, what could have been if Jalen didn't fumble?

Steelers were definitely focusing on stopping the run - and when teams do that, remind them we have 2 stud WR's.

We made it.

Yeah but they’ve done that several times in weeks prior - just with no success.  The one week they started the game off passing to Covey & Campbell I think.

Which furthers the point. They didn’t try any stupid opening script plays to role players or designed runs. They made an effort to pass and it was pretty clear that was their gameplan. Nicks gonna lie because competitive advantage or some stupid reason.

Sets the edge HARD. Last night had 4 of our 8 pressures, a sack, and a deflected pass.

Amazing what a real DC can do with talent

Dang straight. I'm also glad we got a DC who will likely be here long term. Not that he isn't deserving but I don't see teams looking at Vic for HC. This young defense could benefit tremendously by having Vic around for a while.

Fumble ended up meaningless. They would have just punted since it was third down. I guess you can argue Steelers would have to work harder to get a FG on the second DeJean fumble.

He knocked Harris out of bounds which was key to holding the Steelers to a FG after Cooper's fumble.

I think they may have gone for it on 4th down at that position on the field.  It would have been about a 4th and 3.

I don’t see that either. He wanted to be here both for the team and for family geographical reasons. I hope we wheel him out like Biden well into his 80’s.

Yes, to the point that TJ Watt will turn a seemingly bad plan into a tactic. Also, because Jalen holds the ball you can an afford indirect approach. But today Jalen deserves his flowers.

100% this. That felt like a tone setter and last year’s defense probably wouldn’t have handled it as well like when they let Bradberry get punked by half of SF’s roster pre game last year and did nothing.

They really have a great group of guys on that side of the ball this year. Re-signing CJGJ was as much about his personality and attitude as his play. They didn’t have that last season. He brings a good vibe to that group and won’t let anyone walk over him even if he does get beat. Quinyon has attitude, Carter is a borderline psychopath which you need in a DT, and every guy on that side has the other’s back.

This year is not last year.

I doubt they go for it, it was at their 43

I think it also has to do with him getting stronger in the offseason and just learning that the NFL isn't the SEC.  Fangio plays a role, as does the new DL coach, but just having a year under his belt makes a big difference too.   They say the greatest leap happens between year 1 and 2.  It certainly did for him.

Yeah maybe.   I also think Pittsburgh did a decent job of stopping/slowing down the run/focused on slowing down Barkley - so that likely helped as well, imo.

(A lot of loaded boxes last night)

Shout out to Gainwell for two really impressive plays yesterday. He continues to be the most underrated Eagle.

Basically, we should never be held under 24 a game at the minimum.

Yep.  I like what I see from him - seems to be more and more confident as well.

So, essentially, the plan should be to beat washington next week.  Then, heading into the Dallas/NYG stretch, it may be time to make some business decisions based on how things are looking.

Am I the only one....thinking, jesus...we beat Washington and then have to face them in the opening round of the playoffs being a bad thing?  It is hard to beat a team 3 times in a season.....yes, I know we are going for the #1 seed and if we get it, we probably wouldn't see Washington but....if we beat them next week and get the #2 seed....ut oh.....

I remember that happened with the Giants a while ago - beat them 1st game - then beat them twice more (final game and 1st playoff game - something like that)

2022 we beat the NYG 3 times if I'm not mistaken.

I'm not saying it can't be done....but I just do not like the thought of having to try to do it.....
