Gainwell showed up.  👍

As the biggest "Gainwell is the jaggiest of JAG's" proponent on here, I'll give him his props for yesterday. He's not great at anything but he's good at all 3 phases of playing RB.

Shout out to Gainwell for two really impressive plays yesterday. He continues to be the most underrated Eagle.

Not CJGJ?

But you're right, he turned 2 stops on 3rd down into 1st downs. Massive plays.

It’s not, but it is a step in the right direction. NFL refs have too much of tenure problem.

Actually the opposite.  They have had a huge turnover in the last few years.  Look at how many have 4 years or less (thinking rookie contract for players).

He’s been excellent, if under the radar.

Sets the edge HARD. Last night had 4 of our 8 pressures, a sack, and a deflected pass.

This kid is turning into a player…

On Sweat's sack Smith beat his man and didn't allow Wilson to step up in the pocket.  Wilson had nowhere to go.

Another guy that no one really talks about anymore... Jurgens.

The most important thing Smith's progress has provided is an example of being patient the next time the haters start throwing "Bust" around 3 games into a rookie's season.

I'm not saying it can't be done....but I just do not like the thought of having to try to do it.....

Gotta play the hand you are dealt.  Trying to choose your opponent never works out.   Just let the chips fall where they may and deal with it.

He was very good yesterday.  I am still hopeful they can find a better RB for next season, but for now... he's doing his job.

You mean the guy Brady called "yourgens" and was a rookie.

Nolan is upto 5.5 sacks👀, he had a really active game yesterday.

I called him out at the start of the year and said Nolan needed to take a big step forward by the middle of this year or he'd been on the "risk for bust" list for me.  So great to see him take that step.  He certainly looks like a solid edge rusher now who is starting to get much more consistent pressure.  The sacks will come as the pressures increase.

btw - There are many heros on the D but it all starts with Carter who creates havoc on nearly every single play.  He will be DPOY down the road in a year or two if he keeps this up.

Not bad for a fifth-round pick in a shallow draft.

8 points with those two plays, IIRC.

Cant talk about everyone when this team is just absolutely loaded. Is so much talent on this team, it's funny.

Best WR this team has ever had. And I feel like they only tap into 75% of his ability.

I love AJ but he can’t touch TO.

Perhaps.  I wasn't really listening to Brady.

Pretty close, IMO.

I mean the YAC is significantly diff.. it’s rare that AJ breaks tackles. TO in today’s game with these tiny DBs. He’d go crazy

No wonder he had a good game. That OL is unreal

Thanks.

Also, any thoughts on why we didn't much counter yesterday?

Pittsburgh loaded the box early. The had a 5-4 alignment on several plays and a 4-6 on several others. Counters work when you get the front 7 flowing one way and go against the flow. With the Steelers selling out to stop the run there was nothing to counter. Moore dialed up plays attacking behind the second level. Intermediate throws.

I am speaking only in terms of value to the Eagles.   TO's 2004 was great.   His 2005 was putrid when taken on the whole.  By 2006, he was gone.   Both went to and lost a Super Bowl here.   I'd take Brown's contributions over TO's any day.   We can argue purely based on talent... but in terms of what the team is getting from Brown vs. TO, I think the edge goes to Brown.

T.O. doesn't rank highly for me.  His production didn't come close to offsetting his terrible attitude and destructive presence.  He was only in Philly for one season, then sabotaged the following season.

Maybe if the Eagles had won the SB in the 2004 season instead of being cheated out of it I'd view Owens differently, but 20 years later I view him as a briefly useful waste of space.

I like that this team is 11-2 and has drama and people yelling at each other.  How does that look if you are an opposing team or fan?

These guys are 11-2, coasting against legit playoff teams, everything is working….and they are all pissed off, fighting, and angry.

This team has the mentality of a Monday morning WIP caller after an ugly win.  Rather than bemoan the drama, we should celebrate it.  I think they are rattling their own cage at this point and it seems to be working.

We got some MASSIVE breaks with officiating yesterday - we still likely win that game, but the non-offsetting penalties with the Slay blocking out of bounds scrum, and Carter btch-slapping that dude being called after the play (it wasn't) were huge.  Nice to have some go our way for a change.

I truly think he has trouble sometimes seeing over and around our mammoth Oline.

Made me think of when Chip had the Oline wear those things to force the QB to look for throwing lanes
