Yep. There's going to be a team that figures it out. Brock Purdy is projected to get $60 million/year. There's NO WAY he's worth that. If I'm the Niners, I'm moving on from him rather than committing to him.

That is the consensus on sports talk radio here in Nor Cal as well.

Same, but the Bills are the AFC team that I'm a fan of. IDK why I started being a fan of them, it just sort of happened at some point during the years that they were really bad, maybe it was a lovable losers thing, but now they aren't a bad team anymore.

I go back to Cookie Gilchrist.

Eventually a younger version of Roseman will go to a younger version of Lurie, propose this, and that young dynamic owner will give the go-ahead to the young dynamic GM. Then they have to find a HC who is dynamic enough to go along with it.

That’s three people willing to take a lot of risk, but the first trio to get on the same page with this should have a huge advantage.

Ryan Smith in Utah is the kind of owner who could embrace that approach.

I'm young by comparison then (41).

It’s going to be like every trend — the numbers show it’s the right thing to do, but every GM is going to be sh**less of losing his job when he tells the owner their biggest ticket draw just got traded for draft picks.

It might be an older Howie and Lurie that do it themselves.

The issue with younger versions is that they have careers and legacies to build.  This philosophy only works if you actually build a dominant roster with the capital you aren’t using on the QB.  The second this innovative young GM stumbles with a generic QB, he’s going to get canned and thrown under the bus by his owner.

Howie is GM for life and is probably already getting sick of the contract he gave Wentz and Hurts.  He’s more likely to do it the next time around than anyone else.  And Siri is going along with whatever they say.  So there’s your trio.

Hurts to Jerry and the Cowboys.  Jerry would then F that up once he got Hurts.

The NBA is so Fing lame and I'm so glad ratings are dropping and no one gives a crap about it anymore. Ever since that rigged Fing league had it out for the Sixers and tried at every turn to screw them I've been low key hoping the league goes under. I hate it and just want it gone. Obviously, that's never going to happen, but I'd settle for major hardships and a lot of people involved suffering or feeling the heat.

And F your stupid NBA cup, I love how badly they try to make it a thing and not a soul on earth cares about it.

Few shows are talking about how healthy the Eagles are.  Holy crap I hope that's not like the FG announcer jinx. These next three games can't go fast enough.

The only thing I think we need to happen is Tampa to lose first round. For some reason Todd Bowles shuts down our offense every time and Baker went crazy on our defense early on this year

Otherwise I don't fear any of the other nfc opponents

Purdy getting $60M is pretty crazy to think of

Agree the nba cup is ridiculous. But, the only ones who screwed the Sixers are themselves. Atrociously run organization.

I’d even just cycle through first round draft picks every 4 years. Get a guy, groom him for a year, you get him for 3+1 seasons at cost control, then just draft a guy before that option year to develop behind him for a year.

Wash repeat.

That sounds good but I don’t think it would always work. It takes a QB a minimum of two years to develop well enough to be competent at the position, sometimes longer. OTOH, Atlanta doesn’t look so stupid now with the draft pick they made, just with the $100M they guaranteed Cousins. Same with the Giants.

Another approach: two (or more) QBs rotating with specific packages. We still see traces of that with, say, Wilson and Fields. It was once not unusual to do this. The Cowboys did it with Meredith and Staubach. The Giants once did it with three QBs - Connelly, Heinrich, and Shaw. The Eagles did it with Jaworski and Cunningham. Etc.

Nah, it's the entire league, not just the 76ers. Just read that over the last 12 years, viewership is down 48% and I think a whopping 26% over the last year.

-No one, and I mean no one cares about the stupid NBA Cup.

-The courts, the uniforms...it's all too much. Teams don't have a visual identity anymore. You can't cheer and relate to teams that you don't even know are playing when you look at them on TV.

-Load management. Just a joke.

-The on court product is garbage. 3 ball, 3 ball, 3 ball. Miss, miss, miss. Move down court for other possession...3 ball, 3 ball, 3 ball. It's just painful.

-Just not enjoyable to watch at all.

Yeah i wasn't keeping up with the Mike Vick coaching news cycle.

I had seen Sacramento St was trying to hire him.  Didn't know he had other suitors.

Haven't heard anything on Dickerson.
