Who gives a flying F how they lost? Whether it was a walk off homer or a pitcher sailing a throw home to the back stop, or Bryce Harper rounding 3rd to tie the game and slipping on a banana peel. A loss is a loss. The rarity of the sequence is completely irrelevant. It only is made relevant by people wanting reasons to whine about how bad they have it. You live in a reality where you came to the other thread and made up statistics and also told me in the past that the MLB and the NFL are inflating stats for New York, Boston and LA teams. you literally have in your bio that the 2022 Phillies are the true champions even though they got beat by the astros…weird to talk about soft mentality when you can’t accept your own team’s failure and give credit to your opposition and believes leagues are purposefully rigging statistics against Philly teams

You play to win. If you want them to get participation trophy for playing in playoff games and making the playoffs good for you. That seems like a coping mentality to just settle on we made the playoffs and other teams didn’t so I’m happy we just got there. Especially when you were pretty animated about the series a couple days ago. No offense, I don’t think the Phillies were like you know what we made the playoffs. There’s a lot of other teams that didn’t so that’s good enough for us. Anything else that happens after is just gravy.

Yeah, it sucked. I moved on by Friday morning. I'm not sitting here 3 days later arbitrarily stacking games lost together just to feel sorry for myself and so I can wallow in my own misery. That's a choice people are making. You know it's misery loves company time when people are even trying to tie a Penn State game to it, which I've seen people doing earlier tonight, when Penn State isn't even Philly.

That's what we do. It's in our DNA. If you are from the area you should know that. It's not just that they lost it's the brutal way they lost. That's why it's lingering. Lot of sports trauma in a short time.

Well, at least Penn State sucks. That balances the Philly losses. So happy they can only beat the sisters of the poor. Losers.

I look at it this way: in the entire history of the NHL, NFL and MLB existing there has not been another sports city that saw all their teams lose in the same day along with the baseball team get eliminated. Philadelphia is the only one that has happened and it’s happened twice (this week being one of them). Add on that Flyers game they kind of also got short end of the stick in that game. Kind of like Sanchez did Thursday.

And this isn’t no other sports cities have it badly or even worse. But let’s not pretend like this week wasn’t one of the worst we’ve had in a while. That includes the results, how the results happened and some calls going against us. It wasn’t pretty and we didn’t even get into the embiid rumors about being ready for the season.

I know it is, and I hate it. I get on family and friends for it all the time. Self pity and wallowing in misery is a major peeve of mine. Don’t look for reasons to be miserable it’s not healthy. Half the fan base wants the Flyers to lose for a higher draft pick anyway and they’re trying to add that to the Eagles and Phillies just to make themselves be more miserable just because people want to be miserable. It could be far worse.

I didn’t find the Phillies loss particularly painful personally. It doesn’t even rank on my all time painful losses list.

When the eagles won it all (again-which ten years ago would have sounded impossible)…the odds would have another title around 8-10 years from now…

the last week has been one defeat after the next. It’s OK to admit it wasn’t a very good week. frankly didn’t help some were in heartbreaking fashion, some infuriating fashion and with officials not helping matters either. It is OK to to say that the last week in Philadelphia sports has been one of the lousiest sports weeks in a while for us. It is pretty bad when you make history in two different ways and neither were good.

Nobody’s losing perspective that the Eagles won a Super Bowl eight months ago (might have memes posted that are posted more for humor than reality). However, people are also not going to ignore or downplay it was a pretty Fing miserable week in terms of sports watching Philly teams.

Tbh depends on who they’re getting. If these guys that they acquire are going to be here for multiple years, I would say to do it. Cause then it’s not just for this year. But for long-term investments. If it’s like Trey Hendrickson who’s finishing up his last year of his contract, I probably wouldn’t do it. I have a feeling he’s not gonna be here next year so it’s a short term solution not a long term fix.

Man the Flyers defense is awful. Gonna be hard to watch them this year.

Unless it's a young player who can be here for the long run, I agree. No 1/2 season rentals for draft picks. They need as many draft picks as they can get to slowly start the turnover on offense. If Howie is gearing up to pay a lot of guys on defense, they need those rookie contracts on offense to offset.

Week Seven has the 28th meeting between the Eagles and Vikings. The current Regular Season series stands at Eagles with 12 wins, the Vikings with 15 wins. They haved met four times in the Playoffs with the Eagles winning all four. So the overall record is Eagles 16 wins and the Vikings 15 wins.
