Love this pick. We should have taken Dawand Jones in 2023. Make up for it. Bell's size will make him at minimum a swing tackle. Even those players make real money in free agency. If he's more than that? Don't need OT next year. If he's not, this doesn't prevent us from replacing Lane next year. This also forces Hinton and Cameron Williams to develop and not coast.

Stout is still with the team - and my guess is that he remains primarily in a "teaching” type of role.

I did not know that … if true, I certainly hope Stout had some input on the pick then …. It would be enormously comforting to know he thinks this guy can be good at the NFL level.

He’s not. Lane made some comment he might be but Stoutland himself said he never heard anything about it and when asked Howie and Nick both said they respect him but they are going with the coaching staff in house.

This. Stout is not doing any coaching.

I can see a world where Howie asked Stout for his opinions on prospects.

Will be the most boring draft ever. No reason to even pay attention anymore. Doesn't mean it's bad but overall on paper just an ok offseason. Obviously we'll see when the games are played

We spent the entire draft process saying the draft was weak...and are surprised that all the prospects being selected are underwhelming (relative to draft slot)?

As much as I've defended Hurts (because the hate is too extreme), I've also been critical. It's clear Lurie and Howie see the window with this defense and Fangio and no one is safe. Stoutland out. Nick's friend OC out. Hired Mannion and Grizzard. Getting younger WR and TE to add. AJ will be traded. There is a new direction and they want explosive offense again. And if Hurts can't execute that this year, I honestly would not be surprised at some point seeing him benched. I think they mean business, show results or else, to any player. They (naturally) believed they had a strong chance to repeat last year and they are still hungry, they want to get back to the SB and keep winning. Contract wise Hurts will be here but after next season if he doesn't run this offense and it's not running smoothly as expected, change will come.

Enjoying the post round 1 picks. I’m not a Greenard fan, but I am at that price.
