Not really. He looked excellent through 2 pre-seasons, and in a regular season game. He has only looked bad in his most recent regular season game, and this pre-season game 1. The suck is brand new for him. Something broke.

He wasn’t that good last preseason as I recall either.

I’m being captain obvious here, but we don’t exactly have an interesting passing offense. 95% of it is low risk targets around the LOS punctuated and decompressed by the occasional deep rainbow that allows the WR to try to get under it and make a play.

McKee came in for the last couple preseasons and let it rip. That felt like a breath of fresh air. It piqued the interest of a lot of people, myself included. But that doesn’t really mean that McKee is or ever was any good.

Honestly outside of the TD pass, his other pass attempts were terrible terrible decisions. Threw into triple coverage multiple times. Kid has a long way to go. He doesn’t lack confidence though.

I’ll have to look at it again, but it wouldn’t surprise me — he’s a rookie from a small school. His decision making is not going to be the best. But with that said, he did not look rattled to me.

That he let it rip didnt mean he was any good. The results he got moving the offense up and down the field with anticipation and accuracy meant he was good.

With all the talk of tanked value of McKee, he probably has become someone who would now be a very affordable cheap backup for the Eagles to re-sign.

We won’t want to bring him back, I don’t think.

If he’s looking this bad then he’s not good enough to be the #2 and Payton is going to be the developmental #3 since he’s younger, cheaper, and has more upside.

He is better than Dalton. Dalton presents no upside at all at #2.

Yes he was. He and Cooper put on a show last preseason.

Hes not looking that bad. The offense in general didnt produce all night. I recall 2 passes that he sailed which are my issue with him.

I suspect next week he will get the start with Dalton coming in after. Maybe playing with the 2nd string helps some and he gets more production. Still, something mechanically must be wrong because the sailing passes is a new thing for him since the end of last year.

Tanners hype was Carson Strong part 2 with minor flashes at times, the legend was born from Hurts hate not actual talent.

Could be a chicken/egg arugment but I'd argue not giving him all the 2nd team reps in camp has been a negative on his play.

Well that game stunk. But at least no one really seemed to get hurt badly, and some of the young guys we actually care about looked pretty good. I'd say Bell, Lampkin, and Trotter were positives.

McWilliams, not so much. Ringo, meh. I'd need to watch Hinton more to make a definitive judgment but at first glance, no. Mondon, nah. (It's looking like our '25 day three draft was a total washout.)

Payton was exciting but looked light years away from being an actual quarterback. He bailed at every opportunity, constantly looked to run, and made some horrific decisions with the ball. He's a playmaker, I'll give him that so in a way I'm sort of encouraged.

They forced the ball to Stowers a bunch but he was never really open and was unable to do much.

I was mostly pleased with Underwood (the LS) until I saw the PAT in the final minutes. That was a really bad snap. PATs have to be automatic from a process standpoint. You simply can't have your holder reaching dramatically for the ball. I think I'm already "out" on him.

I've seen enough awful preseason games over the years to know how to keep things in perspective, so I'm not even remotely panicking. But that was not a good game to watch.

Anyone know when nfl netwotk Is replaying the game?

Welp. Not the hottest start to preseason. Ravens are like the preseason GOATS. Their record was crazy with Harbaugh and it looks like that's going to be the tradition there. Well off to see AJ and Vrabel.

Still a little shocked a guy that the Eagles traded up in the first rd for is battling it out with Trotter Jr

Just loved what I saw from the offense overall last night.

That is setting up to be annoying from a noise standpoint. Q and Copper are very iffy to practice as is Saquon it seems. Then much will be made about Aj getting catches against backups

The pessimism is strong in this one!

Different styles of LB.

Yay, Sirriani PC's are back!

I get it but if Trotter is making it close id really like to have those picks back for Jihad and just keep Trotter then. The fact that Campbell was dressed yesterday and not put in bubble wrap like the starters is pretty concerning to me.

Reminder for people freaking out about preseason: Nick hasn’t lost in week 1 in his first five seasons coaching and is 14-2 the last four seasons through the first four games of the year. Survey says he doesn’t care about preseason.
