The problem with the Jaguars is the number of transplants that live in NE Florida (myself included). My neighborhood has a bunch of folks from the Philly area. A total of 5 families. We get together to watch the Eagles and Phillies. Just because we moved here, that doesn't mean we're going to stop rooting for the teams we grew up with.

In our development, there are tons of folks from the Northeast. Nobody was born and raised here. Lots of Patriots, Eagles, Giants, Steelers, and Bears fans here. It's really a shame, but folks down here root for the teams they grew up with. They don't root for the Jaguars.

Suspect they extend Cooper next year, fifth year option Q, then extend off the fifth year, similar to what he did with both Davis and Carter, lowering the fifth year hit and putting the bonus into Q’s pocket but the structure delays its hit until the extension. Nothing to worry about here. Non Americans just don’t care for American football. It’s one thing to sell out a stadium in London or Rio once per year.

It’s another thing to put an NFL franchise on a different continent that could lose for 5 seasons and still crank revenue like the Cleveland Browns.

Not to mention the disaster it would be to get players to play for the team…the international team would have to have a different salary cap than the rest of the league to get players to sign with them.

He had a pretty terrible year last year.

I suspect if Shipley had the opportunities Tracy has been granted, we would see a lot more good from Shipley.

When you have such limited opportunities, the mistakes are magnified but the sample size is small and it may not be a true representation of the player.

Either Fred or Bell will be the swing T at OL7. (Although it can be argued that Ojukwu is in that competition too). Position 8 is in play and almost has to be a G/T. That hurts Lampkin, Majors, at this point Williams and Morris, meaning Ojukwu and Fred may be battling for that position too. The last six spots (one for QB3) are stash spots. You can't activate them for a gameday injury, and you have a whole week to promote someone from the PS. This is how they carred Mailata for a season as a "redshirt."

The reason for the expanded PS is to stash veterans like Ojukwu who you think will get through waivers but can play for you in a pinch in a backup role. Figure 6-7 PS spots will be for these kinds of veterans.

So you don't need to use a deep roster spot for these veterans anymore.

An argument has been made that both Bernard and Weru can spend this year on IR. The logic given for that is that both have such a steep learning curve that repetitions will benefit them only a little bit. I call it the tabula rasa argument, and I’m not sure that I buy it … but it can’t be fully discounted.

Commish is talking about a non-starter here. He's not thought about the alignment of divisions, tax implications, logistics, etc. Its just a sop he can fall back on and a potential increase to the bottom line to sell to owners.

How will a player workout for a team in the UK, Mexico or Sao Paolo with the timezones? How will they get a fast tracked visa and what happens if a Govt refuses to let them in coz of their social media? How will the NFL Franchise align with other sports that run through the year across the world? Some teams borrow training facilities for a day or two when they come over, but not sustainable. Its a vast capital outlay
