Eagles won’t keep both Calcaterra and Wilson as they are interchangeable. Wilson is faster but has slightly worse hands. Wonder about how Smartt is as a move blocker.

And btw the other beat writers I haven't included haven't said Landon has looked good in camp. I just haven't seen or heard them talk about Landon yet. They could have the same opinions and I just haven't yet heard it from them.

So, I rewatched the game, focussing only on #73. I would agree that his footwork and athleticism are pretty good but he anchors really badly. He squared up on his rusher consistently but got backed into the QB at least half a dozen times, maybe more. He's back on his heels too much and with that body angle he has no punch.

I actually liked the PS game. Really didn’t display much on Either O or D. Keep the opposition guessing the first few games about the D. On D, pretty much man on man as usual. This game is about getting players on an island to see if they revert to bad habits in game or the, learning is sticking in action. Did get some tackling in, which is why starters play any on D in PS. Saw some good and some bad.

On O, 4/5ths of the OL got play at positions they haven’t traditionally played. Lampkin at C, Kendall at G, Bell at RT, Ojukwu at G, for example. The grading on the QBs is crazy as they were throwing deliberately to specified receivers. Stowers inline blocking.

Again, the purpose is to isolate players to evaluate how they hold onto fixes in their game under pressure or revert to bad habits (McWilliams grabbing, Ringo with two hands on a hand check drawing a holding flag - never more than on hand on a receiver at a time is the habit he needs). (Williams still keeping his butt high - see JR’s comment on his anchor. Thought he regressed from his game 17 last year. That kid has the tools that should be a great OT if he can overcome some bad technique).

The Birds treated that game as a scrimmage. Only thing I disliked about the offensive failures was losing some situational opportunities. Starters get both in the joint practice this week.

It’s a bizarro world. Dean was back for half the season (give or take) and only played 35% of the snaps, while Campbell played 63. Vic pulled Dean on passing downs for a reason.

Besides hockey, those other leagues don’t have a team in Buffalo. No need to cannibalize interest in the Bills, one of the smallest market teams in the league anyway.

The only somewhat reasonable idea I’ve heard is a full division so you’re cutting the logistical headaches in half theoretically. But is there enough interest in Europe for 4 NFL teams? Would think hell no. And at the expense of diluting the NFL talent pool with 200+ more players? Would think double hell no.

There’s a better chance of T20 cricket taking off in the US than there is the NFL gaining the type of foothold abroad that soccer, cricket, basketball have.

Hopefully that is the case. Sometimes it goes bad when they decide to just go stat chasing for their next deal. I don't expect Ojomo to have that mindset but we've seen it here before like with Reddick.

Hope Hurts plays well. Cause it makes a lot of sense to find a QB on a rookie deal and move on if we can.
