It's really irrelevant. Each team was focused on seeing what works for them during the season. The sessions were scripted. I doubt they were trying to outcoach the opponent.

yup...we have no idea what the focus or objective of the scrimmage going in so expecting to reach some kind of outcome is just silly. The primary focus should be to put players in competitive situations with some structure so the coaches can get good tape for evaluations. I would assume both coaches were interested in running mostly man-man schemes in the first scrimmage.

Was Hinton at Guard or Tackle?

I think in the 1 on 1s is most likely. Sure looks like Hinton has played more G than T this summer. Although looking at the last game, a lot of players playing different positions than what they played in college. Frankly, Williams only playing RT is a bit disappointing.

JFC Hurts. Throw it to the players on the field!

Mannion may be worse than Patooter if that's his idea of a good play.

Per Bo and EJ 4 of the 5 Eagles OL handily won the 1 on 1's, except Dickerson. But he was going up against Milton Williams. They said they felt Milton ate his lunch.

It looks hot there

I would expect a lot of interceptions learning the new offense against another team.

PS at this point.

Hinton for sure … as a Guard. Williams has more potential as a tackle, so he may still have 53 man roster possibilities.

It’s that Ivy League education paying dividends. Go Big Red!

So then, the eagles "won" the practice.

Not as flat as you thought? 🤣pizza

Being serious that's wild. Thanks for posting that.

I went back a few pages and didn't see anyone talking about Jake being trash today. I don't know why they didn't even bring in competition

I’m in the camp where I don’t mind if Hurts sees an increase in interceptions this season. If he goes from 6 last season to 10 this year, it’s not the end of the world. Because that means he’s being more aggressive and as a result more big plays will come for it.

I wouldn't say that. Mannion said in one of his interviews during just Eagles practices it's about a 50/50 split. Sometimes they want to see certain looks from the D while sometimes neither side knows what the other is doing. I would think joint practice is mostly the same but probably leaning more towards the not knowing side. They value these as the dress rehearsal over preseason games so I think the unpredictably is factored in more so than usual.

That's not to say they are scheming against each other necessarily though. I just don't think everything is scripted. Certainly not the scrimmage portions.

Not a good sign. When healthy, Dickerson was the best run-blocking guard in the NFL. And it wasn't close.

Bo said he saw Greenard talking with Drew Rosenhaus and an Eagles trainer after his workout and he wandered over to try to listen in and get the scoop and he said from what he gathered there was talk about not rushing him back and making sure he's absolutely 100% before he gets back on the field. That seems like the current plan. Possibly because of how rushing Dickerson backfired last year(this is me interjecting here).

Also Bo speculated that this may be why Fangio has been so blunt in his answers about Greenard, that he's not happy he hasn't been on the field and missing key reps.

Hollywood Brown could be the deciding factor in how good our WR unit is. Obviously he has the speed element we’re missing but he needs to stay healthy then actually catch the ball

Mailata did a year on IR. They can still go to team meetings and whatnot, Bernard needs to learn the game. Wouldn't hurt weru either

That's only partly true. Mailata FINISHED the year on IR. As a rookie, he was sent to IR Dec. 14. He went to IR in year 2 in September.

You have to wonder if Kendall will fill in for him if he struggles. It's possible that Milton just knows Dickerson too well. It's not like Williams is terrible.
