The ways that the Practice Squad has changed, especially vis-a-vis veterans has made the expression "You can’t make the club from the tub” a bit obsolete. Quite a few of these listed players are likely to be on our Practice Squad in a couple weeks. Bennett, Calcaterra, Castro-Fields, Ojukwu, Pierce, and Wilson for example.

Practice is over. Just like day 1, unanimous consensus that the Eagles dominated the practice.

Not feeling great about this upcoming season(not feeling bad either! just meh) but this is super encouraging. This could change the course of the season.

Bunch of idiot reporters giving us their opinions on who "won". The defense is going to be dominant and the offense will click after a few weeks of ups and downs. They have more talent on paper than the SB team two years ago. If they stay healthy it will be a good year.

This combined with the OL looking better are reasons for optimism

But when it can cost you a timeout or it's your last challenge, they still would want final say to stay with themselves I'd imagine, so they're not likely to delegate the final decision to someone else anyway.

Yup...it all means nothing other than good opportunities to evaluate. Fangio is entering year three with basically the same group of talent and I can guarantee he is revealing nothing, especially disguising coverages etc....the kind of stuff that would confuse and overwhelm a young QB like may. The offense may struggle a little early, but this should be a really fun team to watch come the middle of October or so.

True. The head coach would still have final say as it’s all between headsets he just doesn’t physically grab and throw the flag.

I dunno, it seems silly but I’m guessing someone made enough of a fuss to change the rule for whatever reason.

Yeah that's what I'm curious to see, which coaches are actually going to delegate it now, since they would've had to be the one(s) to have pushed for such a strange rule change. I'd be shocked if it's more than 2 or 3 at most.

Feel like the light is going to turn on for Campbell this season. If it does, he has the physical traits to be the dynamic player we all hoped for.

Apparently, it's Zac Taylor, or at least a big reason for it. He claims he hasn't thrown a challenge flag since becoming HC and he had someone else do it for 8 years and never knew it was a rule he couldn't.
