What are you sprinkling on your Cheerios in the morning?

Saturday into TNF is still rough.

I'm gonna call the Commanders' offices and let them know they suck. That will make sure they play to their talent level.

You don't understand that teams give up along the way, and other teams play better as the season progresses?

You are saying almost the exact same thing about both teams but presenting it as a positive for them and a negative for us

Scroll up.

I think Eagles are the vastly superior team. But it being Week 1 shrinks the gap between the two. Eagles offense is still TBD and also Eagles D doesn't come out the gate hot usually either. I think the Commanders have more of a shot to steal one than they would if it was middle of the season.

I will agree that certain teams emerge as better than expected. Commanders in 24 and Colts in 25. Both were a result of QB play exceeding expectations and some luck.

But, in the majority of instances, an objectively bad team will be as bad as expected. I will continue to endorse that teams that were bad in 2025 are preferable early in the schedule than teams that were good in 2025.

Drew Allar's issues were between the ears, so unless he's getting a brain transplant I don't see this changing much

I do think part of the problem with College Football is the time intensity of the programs vs. the ability for athletes to train with coaches outside of the team's staff. While practice time might be limited, in practice the coaches have them the entire year. Players don't really get to put in work on development outside of the program.

We want good teams later, when the possibility of a key injury during the season makes them less competitive.

Five teams that have the deepest rosters to potentially overcome an injury are PHI, LAR, SEA, BAL, and SF...all others have an uphill battle to remain competitve in the event of a significant injury. Injuries are part of the game/season, I want to see the best every team has to offer each week, especially in rivalry/division games, it's just better football for the fans imo.

Week 9 vs Giants

Week 18: @ Giants

I agree with the entertainment value. But they don't put an asterisk on the Lombardi if you end up with a favorable schedule due to injury.

Eh...I think the Commanders defense will be significantly worse, especially early in the season. Styles may end up being great, but he's replacing Wagner week 1 - Wagner was the leader of the defense and wore the green dot. Is a rookie going to do that now? Luvu? Nick Cross? Other than that, they brought in Oweh, lost Von Miller. The secondary - Lattimore wasn't good, but they haven't replaced him at all. But week 1 without Wagner as leader? Best case scenario, IMO.

Add on - new DC and OC in Washington as well.

I think you get more coin flips than chalk in the 1st month of the season, those suicide pools are brutal.

I don't disagree and their defense doesn't scare me. It's just weird things happen Week 1. Eagles always looks extra rusty because of the lighter camps and mostly no preseason play for starters. Eagles should still win but it wouldn't shock me if they lost either.

Both Super Bowl teams lost Week 1 last year, one of them to the Raiders.

Pro Tip: when you are agreeing with ESP, maybe rethink your position.

Crazy, the leaks are showing Rams/Seahawks week 16 (Xmas) and then again week 18.

We're going to be somewhat under prepared in week 1 regardless given how Nick handles the preseason. Still managed to be undefeated in week 1, but some games closer than they needed to be (Dallas last year, GB in Brazil in 2024, NE in 2023). That's another reason I say give me an untalented team week 1. The Commanders depth chart is laughable.

Don't know if it's been mentioned already but the last time the Eagles played in Jacksonville, David Akers was the Kicker. It was 2010. Assuming we don't catch them as the 17th/18th game, the next time they will play in Jacksonville is 2034

I would rather face the Commanders than the Giants or Cowboys week one. I think the Commanders' defense has improved at the LB level but it's a pretty underwhelming front. They also have the worst skill position players in the division and a new OC who wants Daniels to do more under center stuff. Their 2 best players on offense are coming off of significant injuries. Also, even when healthy last season, Daniels stunk. I get that they could come out on fire and the effort level would lessen the talent difference but I don't have a lot of confidence in their coaching or players.

I love going to games in philly because of the crowd. Hockey is the sport you actually get the most improved viewing at the arena

Games in Philly, yep, the crowd is awesome and very much like sports over here. Fun. Its not Lords on a test match saturday polite. Agree on Hockey, TV does the players dirty with how quick the game is and how good athletes they are.

Unlike Baseball 😉
