My best guess is ~$15mm for 2027 that just increases overall cap space.I haven't bothered to look at the numbers in quite some time but.........if we do get the insurance money AND he is forced to retire, and therefore signing the paperwork after June 1st, I think that gets us close just given what you stated above.

They have rotations on the DL and besides Carter (which they mishandle his snap count because they have no depth and JD plays about 40-50 percent of the snaps only). So really the DL should be in theory, rested throughout a game. But I'm gonna guess the defense is already tired in the 1st Quarter, the 2nd quarter and the 3rd quarter, so they are excused. I'll stick with my story. They have about 5 holes on this defense to figure out short term and long term. And I'm probably being nice. This defense is a far cry from 2024 and even 2025 after JP arrived. It's mid.

If he retires because of injury, then his $22 million in 2027 guarantees need to be paid. If he retired for non-injury reasons, then the $22 million is forfeited and it's the same as trading him post June 1.They could also work out a deal with him on the $22 million, but not sure why he'd do that if he retires because of the clots.According to Spotrac, we do not have insurance on the 2027 comp ($22 million guaranteed).

People forget very quickly that a 'respected' defensive coordinator is Jim Schwartz, and he was so respected he ran sticks defense, which everyone despised. Grass isn't always Eagles greener on the other side.By the way, good luck to that potential new coach if he doesn't reach the SB by year 2, after the Eagles got to SB year 2 in two consecutive staff groups, not to mention going back in another 2 years...Fanbase will eat him alive. If the team looks competitive, it won't be bad. Look at how long andy got, most fans didnt seriously want him fired until the very end. Sirianni gets so much hate because the team looks like absolute dog crap when they aren't good

Sirianni gets so much hate because the team looks like absolute dog crap when they aren't goodI actually think it’s more because the passing game has regressed each of the last four years. In a league that’s a passing league and which 3 of the last 4 years they had two pro bowl wide receivers and couldn’t make the passing game look consistently functional. Someone of it is not on him and some of that’s on quarterback/coordinators/OL. But at some point in time i think Lurie isn’t going to sit there and just blame injuries when it didn’t look right for a while now and prior to the amount of injuries. For me it’s more about can you fix the passing game which we all talked about back in 2024 had to get better and fixed if they wanted to get back to the mountain top. That has yet to be shown or even show an improvement. At some point in time you’re the guy in charge and you can’t get it right then I need to find somebody that can get it right

JC has been effective recently, Ojomo got dinged early from what I heard. Given what the offense is not doing and the recent injuries, they have good reason to be mid. Would this defense be top-5 given a better situation, no, I think they are underachieving... are they a bad defense? No way.
25 minutes ago25 min I'm fine with Hurts being the QB as long as the Eagles view him as a placeholder and are actively looking for the next franchise QB. "Anybody but Hurts" would be a mistake and a likely downgrade. Paying Hurts and building around him again would be the inverse of the other mistake. Blame Siri, blame the carousel of OC's that couldn't make it work. But you all know that no QB survives this many years of being the arm behind a wretched passing game. They just don't.I don't need to see him cut or traded. Someone needs to be the QB and just anyone isn't going to be better. As long as they have an eye on the future.

They are mediocre and have too many holes to fix. That comes up repeatedly in games. They have very little depth as well. I do believe they have very over rated talent here. Campbell ain't it. 2 safeties are very below par. Woolen is coming back to earth. JD can't finish a game or rush a passer. Cooper is getting lit. Edge is bad right now. This defense is being based on potential. But the results are mediocre. It is simply not anywhere near a championship defense. In other words, they weren't going anywhere with this defense regardless of the offense. My theory was if the offense would at least be functional we would be fine. This defense gets no turnovers or pressure and keeps itself out there because they are just not that good. It's a poor tackling defense as well. No playmakers besides JC. And he just showed up one game this entire year. The alarm bells should have gone off when a 3rd string QB like Kasey Keenum could pick you apart. Who hadn't played in 3 years. That was a laugher! I think they have been given too many excuses at this point. This was year 3 in Fangio's defense and frankly it's a disappointment.

22 minutes ago22 min @vikas83 dude, that is cool as hell. Seth Joyner is a frickin legend. Probably should be coaching on the Eagles. I don’t think they would have the balls to hire him though. BUT let’s hire an another OC that’s never called plays before, and pair him with an OLine Coach that was gladly walked out of his previous job.
