He got to the SB... how's that proving your point?

Even the best need a good OL.

As for Hurts he's good enough to win. What isn't good enough to win is the OL, the run game, or the scheme.

I will take a mediocre QB every time, who can deliver 2 Superbowl appearances in 3 years and not spit the bit in clutch times.

So, just making sure in this case, you've always felt Eli Manning was worth taking in the same way?

I figure there are ways Hurts can help without being in person. He can potentially be in QB and offensive meetings via facetime, teams, etc.

He can probably be calling McKee personally and going over things...

Yep. He seems to have a good relationship with McKee as well and hyped him up in his past starts. I would certainly understand if Jalen needed time away to reflect and focus on this new health news, but Mannion says he's already been there helping out which is cool of him.

Hurts isn't the best QB in the league and has flaws. No kidding.

Who is a better option? You want to blow picks on a guy who talked about early retirement and gets hurt often? How about Herbert? Worth multiple firsts for a guy who's played that poorly? Did you watch Carr last weekend? Want a 6' 25-year-old in the draft? Think they can get up to 1 or 2 to get Drew?

How about a washed up FA like Watson, Fields, or Brissett this winter? Instead of just complaining that he has limitations tell us who is a better option. Outside of one guy here I'm not sure any of us wouldn't replace Hurts with a better option. There aren't any right now.

Saying we could do worse is the inverse of my argument asking if you’d do 7 years 455M.

I said last night I wouldn't extend him if that's what you are talking about. 1-2 years is all I'd keep him for.

Hurts had a great Oline

Ah but that will be excused by the OL and the injuries. And that’s fine because that’s a fair excuse. But then what’s the argument for the passing offense in 2023? 2024? 2025? I mean asides from 2022 (where Hurts was an elite dual threat) the passing offense has underwhelmed every year.

Even with how bad Patullo was and a disgruntled Brown, Jalen's passing numbers were actually good last year. He had similar numbers to both Allen and Mahomes but had way less turnovers. Both he and Josh had 25 passing TD's to Mahomes' 22, and Jalen even won the head to head matchups vs both those guys. None of the 3 QB's threw for over 4k yards, as they were all between 3,200-3,600 in yards.

2024 we were a run dominant team, but any time Jalen was asked to throw he did it well. Fans only bring it up as an issue because of AJ's whining and the media asking for it. In 2023 Aj and Smitty got their numbers and the pass game was fine. The issue was the offense carrying an awful defense which made the end of that season a nightmare.

Here we are talking about our Superbowl winning QB, who is out now for the foreseeable future and are stuck with this hapless and mediocre cast of characters, talentless coach and blaming everyone, but this guy. He is the NUMBER 1 problem on my list to explain the last 20 months.

No crap. The guy still got it done while others with equally talented teams in other ways choked.

No I put out facts and people who are spoiled and just want to hate on Hurts never come up with any better option outside of living in a dream world. There are no better options right now. He is a SB MVP. In a year or two he will be gone and we'll realize what we had. A mid-level QB who could elevate and win when it mattered. Outside of elite that's more than most teams have.

It's really not anything special to have a QB who sucks most of the time.

Eli Manning is on the ballot for hall of fame consideration, so I guess yes.

Get ready to see McKee look even better this week.

I hope so. I said I expected him and the Eagles play well and win last week. That certainly didn’t happen. I sort of get them not changing the game plan mid-week, but that excuse goes away this Monday night..

Who else besides Dak?

You guys like to talk about Allen and Herbert (more than anyone) but those teams have more flaws than Eagles did

So they kept Jenkins over Latu and then cut him over Mundt. They should have kept Latu and now they should cut Mundt. I understand this isn't something that would turn the season around but it is another example of bad roster construction.

Mike, just say you hate the guy. Just say you envy every other guy's girlfriend that you can't get. Just say you think Hurts is a bigger issue than the dog crap scheme, he's to blame for a running game that got 7 yards in one half and 13 in another, that he's to blame for the OL not being on the same page having multiple blockers on one defender, and for the OL coach sucking. All of those are much bigger issues, but you want to **** and focus on the QB being the issue for some ridiculous reason. Even though there are no better options to trade for and nobody in FA for the next year or two. You hate the QB. We get it.

He's not a great QB most of us get it. He's still the best option they have and he's good enough to win and he has an MVP trophy to prove it and outplayed Mahomes twice.

Just now, Diehardfan said:

...No not really, the vast majority of teams in the past 20 years, including SB winning teams, weren't as good as the 2024 Eagles. I mean, I think that's pretty obvious if you look at the stats. We have the all time single season rushing leader on the same team with the best defense as well as the second best OL our franchise has had in the 2000's, an all pro receiver, and probably the best Eagles WR we've drafted this century.

....Not sure what other teams are matching that besides some of those in recent memory besides some of those 49ers teams. They choke.

I'd get on Shanahan more here, but I don't want to reverse jinx. LOL

The problem with Hurts is that he is most often bad enough to lose.

The guy is 62-35-1 with two SBs, an MVP trophy, and outplayed Mahomes twice. Facts disagree with you. Suck at times? Yeah. Still lucky to have had him.

Eli always had talent. His issue was that he was always a turnover machine.

I honestly think there's a portion of Eagles fans that would view Eli much differently if he had worn an Eagles jersey while beating Brady twice in the Super Bowl. The way I've seen fans champion mediocrity with QB's like Wentz and Garcia, yet foolishly criticize guys like Hurts and McNabb, tells me all I need to know in how they would view Eli as an Eagles QB 🤣

Exactly. I said all of the same things. And have said, if they dont win this week its time to start the tank. This is the week to evaluate McKee with an offensive install that is completely gameplanned for him rather than our sucky starting QB.

If it doesnt look any different, Mannion is a bum, McKee is a bum, and the season is a loss.

Feel bad for a guy losing his spot but Howie and his fascination with bottom of the barrel JAG TE's every year makes it easier
