Hoping it's on the PS and not the 53. If so, low risk shot on a former 1st rounder. No downside.

Yea, I would have to assume it's the PS since he was just released from the Raiders PS so it makes no sense why he would be on the 53. It's a fine no risk shot. It's still kinda gross though.

I would love to make him Becton 2.0 and mock Giants fans with it...

Of course, there's a better chance of me being the new RG for the Eagles.

Only a third will be gone. We have 4 picks in the top 2 rounds in 2028 (2 1sts and 2 2nds). I'd be fine taking a QB in the mid rounds in 2027 and hoping to get lucky. I don't want to use that 2028 capital to move up for someone on 2027 - not sure I see the prospect that is worth it.

Id be fine using a mid 1st, or a late 1st, or even a 2nd this year.

So.eone like Miava from USC might be all we need.

Maybe the Sorsby guy we were rumored to love...

I'd be marginally OK with a 2nd, prefer a 3rd. Gotta think Sorsby is a day 3 pick with the gambling stuff.

The Hurts discourse is so tiring, yet here I am adding to it...

For a 2nd round pick, he's been a massive homerun. No question. And he has more than justified the contract we gave him, being the first (and to date only) $50mm AAV QB to win a Super Bowl while on that contract. So both those decisions were massive wins.

The question now is about the future and another extension. That conversation was going to happen this offseason before the blood clots. Now, that conversation will likely be punted to the offseason after the 2027 season. The Eagles have no incentive to extend him, and Jalen's team has no incentive to sign a deal from a position of weakness. They'll guarantee his 2027 comp (which is meaningless as the option bonus is ~98% of it and must be exercised by week 1) and punt the decision.

The other question is do you draft a QB in 2027 to sit behind him, or save all the draft capital for 2028? Personally, I'd wait until 2028 unless there is someone you love in this draft. If Jalen somehow becomes worthy of an extension, then you can use all those picks (2 1sts and 2 2nds) to build the roster. If he doesn't improve, you have all the capital you need to get the QB of the future.

Well said. Unless they see someone drop into the 2nd or 3rd that they love I'd wait. Build the team and see what happens.

He won't be looking for an extension this offseason - his value will be too low. I'd expect him to play 2027, then this comes to a head the following offseason.

He's also not really tradeable this offseason given the health concerns.

Bingo! Which makes someone harassing everyone here for the first 6 weeks about an extension a moot point. For now. Neither party is doing nuttin at this point. But Howie is crazy. I wouldn't rule out anything. Lately, he tends to like buying rebounding players with a prior injury concern (damaged goods) and paying full price, earlier than he has to.

Hurts is a good QB. He’s won a freakin Super Bowl and wins a lot more than he loses. No he’s not getting a king’s ransom but he’s going to be the starting QB next season and a good chance he is for 2028.

He’s more than likely going to be our best option for a couple more years. Let’s just accept it. It could be way, way worse.

I'd be inclined to bet against this being true. I'd be extremely surprised if the Eagles went into 2027 with Hurts as QB1 and Cole Payton as QB2, and I don't see any possibility that QB2 is a veteran retread the way Andy Dalton was.

I think Hurts will recover and be the QB1 starting the 2027 season, but he'll have meaningful competition either from an early draft pick or a bonafide QB acquisition. I'd bet against him being the Eagles starting QB past the midway point of next season.

My demarcation line is MNF. And I know it sounds premature. But 5 losses in a row and only 2 weeks left to trade a shidd load of peeps. He has to get cracking Monday at midnite if they lose.

This is correct. He is competing with a lot of really bad teams that are tanking. I don't think he can wait until the last minute to trade guys.

Next game is Mon night. Players get an extra day to rest?

Gross but it's fine

Would’ve been nice to see what stoutland could try to do with Neal. Good thing we have super duper kuper

Certainly aren't doing McKee any favors bringing Dickerson back.

OK, two days shy of three years since I joined this board. I just wanted to say thanks for letting me stick around this long. I am sure I have been a nuisance a few times, thanks for being accepting and forgiving in those instances. Ya'll are the best fan group/community.

Been on these boards since around when we started mcnabb his rookie season. Some ridiculous memories over the years. I don’t think this place was as distraught as the time we lost to the Bucs to close out the vet

You types typically rave about Justin Herbert, the generational loser.

I have not once raved about Justin Herbert or any other quarterback. Paint with a rather broad brush, do you?

If Stoutland were still with the team, I would be intrigued by this Neal signing as a project (similar to Becton). But with Kuper, it's just whatever.

Quit dogging my QB...nah, he deserves it 🤣. So many missed opportunities. I keep telling myself maybe he will be a late bloomer like Elway who took 15 years to finally get to the SB, but who am I kidding, it ain't happening.

Actually, It's more distraught after Hurts winning a Superbowl.

That's his point.

Vikings had an outstanding defense in those years which was largely responsible for Vikings getting to the Super Bowl 4 times. Little like the Eagles 2024 defense plus Barkely had a lot to do with the Eagles getting to LIX. But all we hear is Jalen Jalen Jalen ad nauseum.

Elway got the Super Bowl in 4th, 5th and 7th seasons, but didn't win until the end of his career.

Dak fails again.

People think I'm a Hurts Hugger now but I'm not. We saw him run vs TN and DC and look good, so he can. We agree he can't be just a pocket guy so if that's him or Nick it needs to be figured out. If he doesn't run I doubt he does have that ability. I'm good moving on from him, but again, who's better if they want to win the next two years? If they want to trade Burrow straight up for him, sure. If they have to add a first (and probably more) I wouldn't do that for a guy about to be 30 in Dec who didn't want to play long-term until a few months ago. One more major injury could have him thinking like Luck again.

I like Drew in this draft and not the rest. I watched the BYU game and Carr's passes looked weak and not like a guy I'd want. I'm not a fan of a 6' 25-year-old. They'd have to get one in 28 and who knows how high they'd pick. I just wouldn't burn a high first on someone this year vs an edge. They are so expensive you can't get one on FA and it would be hard for me to pass on a very good talent to reach for anyone other than Drew. If he's there then by all means get him.

I think we are doing poorly because of your refusal to trash him on game days.
