Yeah, Howie's trade I think will be very beneficial to the Eagles long term. Also, AJ knew this offense was a dumpster fire and wanted out and the idea that "AJ Brown ruined the offense last year because it got into Hurts' head and didn't allow him to just run the offense" also is fake news. The offense sucks with or without AJ Brown. With or without Hurts. With or without Patullo. The offense just blows.

The thing is, there are very few things the Eagles could have done objectively wrong given there are a lot of grey areas with medicine. Even if we were to find out the worst case scenario happened and something the Eagles did directly led to Hurts' condition getting worse(and this is virtually impossible because there's no way of knowing what caused a clot to move, and I don't believe anything they did caused this anyway) then it still likely wouldn't be something punishable or wrongdoing because you live long enough and you learn with medicine so many aspects of it don't have a strict textbook route you need to go. Doctors assess and give their best opinion on how to proceed. And other doctors may disagree with those doctors on what that route is. As long as the decision making was medically sound and backed up with logic, I don't see how there's anything there.

Ugh.

But it definitely means the players are concerned.

No we saw ot last year. AJ forcing Hurts and the Eagles to feed him the ball for his ego had a negative impact. We see ot now with the Patriots.

You were the person having the biggest meltdown and in the biggest amount of denial about AJ Brown last year and the lead up to him being traded

Yeah he's washed and playing with a worse QB.

I dont disagree on either points

All time record

Cowboys 75

Eagles 59

I didn’t even know that there was an NFL game on last night. 😝😝😝

The NFCN is just awesome.

It’s still early in the season, but, I’ll assume one of the teams from that Division will play the 49ers in the NFCCG.

Thank god for the Sixers......I haven't even thought about the Eagles this week! Two great wins.....and I'm actually going to the Toronto game in less than 2 weeks, cannot wait to see them live!

This year's NFCE will end up being worse than last year's NFCS.

No, a QB that wins as much as him and plays as well as he does in the multiple championship games he has played in and always gets his team in the playoffs is not in anyway a problem. That is exactly what you should want as QB for your team long term.

He has only done that in multiple championship games with a top 5 defense, and it took the greatest season by a RB in Eagles history to get him to one of those championship games.

AJ is washed and looks like a complete clown after all the nonsense he talked.

I could not disagree more here. The passing offense was not good last year. It stunk. Sure he won the head to head with both but against Mahomes the defense won the game. Mahomes also had no WRs and missed the latter part of the year. Allen has had to carry that Bills team with no elite WRs for a long time.

2024 we were a dominant run team yes I agree. And yes Jalen did what was asked of him when it was asked. It doesn’t make him an elite thrower. It just means he does what he needed. And to be honest not enough is made of how magical that year was for the run game. Teams stacked the box and still couldn’t stop us which in turn made it easier to throw the ball. And it still wasn’t elite or even really good. Being run dominant didn’t stop Lamar putting up big numbers. It didn’t stop Goff putting up big numbers. It doesn’t stop (and I hate to say this) Purdy putting up numbers.

The 2025 Bills led the league in rushing with 2,714 yards, and had the league's leading rusher in James Cook with 1,621 yards. Yes, both were less than the 2024 Eagles (just over 3,000 yards and Barkley over 2,000), but Allen had the best rushing attack in the NFL and got bounced by Bo Nix in the division round because he couldn't protect the football.

Not saying Jalen is better than Allen...just saying this idea Josh carried the team is a little crazy. He didn't have AJ and Smitty, but he had a great rushing attack and the 7th ranked defense.

I really do wonder if we will look back at 2025 as the year that Josh Allen squandered his chance to win a Super Bowl. No Mahomes or Lamar in the playoffs. Top rushing attack in the NFL, 7th ranked defense, and he loses to...check notes...Bo Nix. 4 turnovers when everything was right in front of him. Just brutal.

If he retires without a ring, this will haunt him forever. Mahomes and the Chiefs are seemingly back.

LOL...Antonio Brown weighs in

But also that’s an example of how you can have an elite run game and still put up big passing numbers. So this argument that devote Jalen lovers give for why his numbers were not great in 2024 is largely debunked.

The counter to that, the Bills have allowed more than 30 points 4 times this year, and the Bills are 4-0 in those games.

The defense has allowed 24 or more points in 4 of Jalen Hurts 10 playoff games. He is 0-4 in those games.

The defense has allowed 24 or more points in 10 of Josh Allen's 15 playoff games, He is 4-6 in those games.

2 INTs and 2 fumbles vs Denver was brutal. Guy has all the talent in the world but he plays hero ball too much in big situations.

Look… At the end of the day with Jalen he’s a 10-16 ranked QB. He’s not elite, he’s not top tier but he’s also not garbage. Ultimately of the top 10 ranked teams in the NFL right now probably at most 2 would take him. Of the 32 teams in the NFL I think there’s maybe 10 that would definitely take him and a handful that you can make a case for.

He’s good, he’s not elite. You put an elite team with him he can help and be a part of winning a SB. But if he doesn’t? Then he can’t. He can’t elevate those around him or overcome the clear deficiencies but he can also be a part of a team success. Given where this team is now and is likely to be for a couple of years I’d move on from him. But if you want to make the case that he should be back with a new HC then fine. But I can’t see the results or the eye test looking much different next year.

Um...you might want to check the actual stats. This excludes the Washington game that Jalen barely played in.

Again, Allen is obviously the better player. But there was no huge gap in passing performance.

Do you remember when me and that other poster that everyone ridicules (who is right more than most of you )told you that AJ Brown was cooked? Alston Jeffrey style! And had to fight AJ huggers for months...let's get one thing straight, AJ misses Hurts more than the opposite. He's been no good for quite awhile. Good thing Howie found a dumb team like the Patriots who were desperate to do something for their young QB.

There are certain things that he is elite at doing. One of those is managing a very good team and bringing home a victory. Another is playing at an elite level in big games.

In any case, the OL is in full rebuild mode and that is not a good combination for Hurts so the next few years (minimum) are going to be very rough for him. It will be a tough decision for Lurie/Howie.

I'd have 5 guys inarguably above him - Mahomes, Allen, Jackson, Burrow and Stafford. Then you get into the young guys like Caleb and Maye - I think GMs would obviously take those guys, but still need to see some consistency. Jalen's in the same bucket with Dak, Purdy, Goff, Love, etc. - good enough to win you a title if they have pieces around them. What edges him higher in that group is that, to date, he's the only one to have done it. Dak has had more talent around him than anyone and can't win. Purdy got to the Super Bowl with a stacked roster and lost.

You wanna argue anything form 6-15, it's probably fair.

Exactly, and that's fine with me. That's something we'll miss. When they're favored, they usually come out on top in the playoffs. He never got rattled or threw up in big games. Outside of elite QBs like Stafford, Brady, or Mahomes, it's hard to ask for much more. Dak, Goff, Allen, hell, even going back to Rivers, there were a lot of QBs with more talent who can't say the same. If it makes people happy to say he was carried, go for it. Most of those guys had good teams, and they still never got it done, especially Dak. Yeah, he fumbled in one Super Bowl, but he played his ass off after that, and if he'd had a decent defense that day, he'd have two rings.

The guy is on his way out in the next year or two. I've never seen a guy who played as hard as he does get so much hate from Philly fans. He's the type of guy who's usually beloved, but for some reason, he's hated even after giving us a ring. I'm not a fan of Hurts, but I've come to respect him, and I'm grateful for what he's brought.
