Definitely not Baun. That would only make sense if you could say Trotter and Campbell are the future. Obviously, Campbell is heading down the path of having a very short NFL career at this point. We will need to keep Baun if we plan to contend next year, which should be the plan.

The rest can go as they are not likely part of the future plans.

Campbell is struggling but he's not physically overmatched. He's made mistakes in coverage as has every other player on the defense. I think it is far too early to write him off in the scheme. My view of the trades is that the team should consider moving on from any player that isn't part of a possible plan for 2027. I can see no reason why the Eagles would not want to keep Baun for the 2027 season. I think the team isn't necessarily planning to move on from Smith. I also think they would be trading him low. I don't think they are going to get a bunch of big offers for these players. The idea that the Eagles should be sellers implies there's a market for these players that is more than the return on comp picks. Why would a team trade a 2027 third round pick for Ojomo or Woolen based on how they have played this season? My guess is Hollywood Brown is traded. I don't think they trade anyone else.

That stat is completely wrong. The Eagles were 11-6 in 2023 and 11-6 last season. They are 2-4 this season. That's 24-16 or a .600 winning percentage.

But yeah, the screen game is horrible regardless.

I could see baun traded for a couple of reasons. 1. Classic case of get out a year early than a year to late. By that he’s a FA at the end of 2027 where he will be 32. Not sure the eagles are going to give him an extension at 32. So he walks and maybe you get a comp pick or capitalize on his high value right now. 2. His value is pretty high. He’s played well this year and still in his prime. Could also use to their advantage we don’t really want to deal him and teams may overpay for him.

Agreed that coaching helps overcome lack of talent and injuries. However Shanahan has had some injury years where they weren’t good. 2024 they went 6-11. I’d add yesterday when cmc got hurt, they really fell off for half the game offensively. Imo they have an issue that once cmc is banged up they really struggle. Granted their WRs are bad without Mike Evans.

If the Eagles lose the next two games and sell, I see very few winnable games left on the schedule. Colts and Cardinals are about it and even those teams I'd say right now are playing better football than the Eagles. Right this second on 10/26 I think the Eagles are playing the worst football in the NFL. A top 5 pick is definitely in play if the Eagles lose the next two then sell so have even less talent on the roster for the rest of the season,

The Giants can lose to any team at any time. But I’d still favor them over the Eagles team that played the Panthers.

3-14 is attainable. 3-14 with tiebreakers got the #1 pick last year. I have to assume the NFC-E will help with strength of schedule tiebreakers.

FYI, DAL has not won @PHI since '22...it's a division game, it could be PS vs PS, as long as we see a good old fashion PHI/DAL physical game it should be a great night. Some trash talk, a few personal fouls, a few questionable penalties, a couple of missed or blocked FGs...I am expecting a low scoring game. 17-20 or 14-17, something like that, bonus - team that scores the most wins...maybe.

The injuries are bad…but this team was going nowhere this year even without them. We could see how this offense looked with everyone dressed. Did the injuries yank the bottom out? Sure.

The offense has literally zero players outside of Smith and Mailata that can reliably be penciled into anything for the long term future. They’ve got a couple guys who might stick into something meaningful as they grow, but it won’t be much. It’s going to be a bad offense for a while.

I think we can think of it in tiers. Excluding Hurts, we can categorize players on offense on 5 tiers:

Tier 1 -premium players (all-pro/top 10 at a position),

Tier 2 -above-average starters,

Tier 3 - potential tier 1 or 2 players,

Tier 4 - starting caliber players or potentially average players that are replacaeble, and

Tier 5 - Below Average/Competent Back Up

On offense, I think the players fall as follows:

Tier 1 - Smith

Tier 2 - Barkley and Mailata

Tier 3 - Kendall, Bell, Lemon, Cooper

Tier 4 - Goedert, Wicks, Bigsby, Lampkin,

Tier 5 - McKee, Dickerson, Shipley, Steen, F Johnson, Moore, Brown, Mundt, Majors, Payton, Pierce, Morris (the fact that he is behind Lampkin/Kendall puts him in this tier), and Stowers (Can't say the team should rely on him as a potential starter anytime in the future).

Arguably Barkley belongs in tier 4. He's certainly not a long-term fix at the position. I am probably being too generous with Cooper, Lampkin and Bigsby. This should be a sobering view of the offense especially given the talent level in 2024. The team had arguably 7 tier one starters on offense (Lane, Barkley, Devonta, AJ, Dickerson, Mailata and Jurgens). Goedert and Becton were above average.

There's obviously an argument that a lot of the performance has to do with the degradation and incompetence of the coaching staff. The talent, however, has declined.

Mahomes is no longer that QB that will make chicken salad out of chicken sheet. He needs talent. As most QBs are that same way. They have a better running game this year, so the offense has improved. But, there is only 1 QB left who can elevate his squad with average talent. And even with that, he still has a very good offensive line and RB. That is Josh Allen because of his physical athletic abilities where he can escape danger and make plays. Although that opens him up to making hero ball boneheaded plays that can cost games. Mahomes is much slower these days and is less elusive. A good defense can stop him right now. He is probably 70% of prime Mahomes right now. Even though the AFC is weak, think the Chiefs are not representing the AFC this year.

He's not playing because he can't play at this level
