Cowboys still living in the past. 😄

It's all they have. Did you see the Super Bowl flashback during the game. Troy Aikman in 1994.
Meanwhile, all over Dallas...

If they traded Baun or Barkley, they might as well just sell rights to the team name and be the Philadelphia Blank Men or something.

You're talking about team captains, one of which has already retired. Youve gotta have a few standup guys to get through seasons like this.

They trade those guys and you're going to see effort that makes the Dallas game look like the Super Bowl

Baun and Barkley. Not even blinking here. Both look exhausted and beat down. Get good picks while you can. No brainers. If those 2 happen, that's how you know Howie's plan is more long viewed. Which is what he should do.

"Our team is so bad, we should trade everyone for good picks!!!!"

Yall are ridiculous. If they look so exhausted and beaten down, why on earth would a team trade for them? And what constitutes good? Who are you replacing them with? If Howie's drafts have been so bad, why are you trying to accumulate a bunch of picks (that are going to be mid-late round) so he can replace good players with bad players?

The sell everyone crowd apparently thinks a team that won the super bowl a year and a half ago is the worst team on earth. They're the worst coached team on earth. Trade guys on expiring contracts like ojomo and Woolen if you can, there's literally zero reason to trade every able bodied player on the team unless you're getting an idiotic return.

Realistically, you're not getting that and you need some type of leadership on the team. Trade all those guys and all you have left are Mailata, Hurts, and a horrible culture where the team will dump you as soon as there's a bad season.

Greenard has one tackle this year.

They should not hesitate to trade Baun or Barkley for these very reasons. Barkley is not going to age like Derrick Henry. His days of giving the Eagles a full productive season are likely over. I would certainly be adding RB to the list of this team’s needs. It’s actually a pretty big need imo. It would be harder for me to part with Baun than Barkley, but I still would if the price was right.

Are they great locker room guys and great leaders? Without question they are. But it will probably be 2-3 years before we can see this team be a top contender again. Yes they can get better sooner than that, but I don’t think they could be SB caliber again in less time than that.

By the time they are ready to be SB caliber again, they will need different leaders. Might as well start the process now. Seasons like this can show the best and worst in people. If any value can be found in a season like this it’s finding out which players are good to have when times get tough, and which ones you wouldn’t mind showing them the door.

It not a playoff season. The young players don’t need the likes of Baun and Barkley to hold their hands to get to the offseason.

Being the turning point in the cowboys season is awful. I can't f'ing stand it. Now I have to root for the giants? And the eagles still have to play them at their house on Christmas eve again. I want to stick a fork into my eyeball and twist it thinking about it.

Howie learned nothing after the Huff pickup so he doubled down with Greenard.

Seeing this comparison a lot and it’s pretty dumb. Huff was a pure wide 9 track rusher who wasn’t even good enough at that to justify being on the field. Greenard is injured and, like Barkley, has no business on the field right now.

If it helps, they still suck too. No team from the East is doing anything this year. If they win the division, I would be shocked if they won their first playoff game.

I hate losing to Dallas as much as the next Eagles fan, but it hurts a little less in a season like this.

As bad as things are now, I still like the Eagles potential/outlook over the next 5 years way more than the Cowboys. As things stand now, I think the Cowboys have just 3 picks in the next draft, and only 6 in ‘28. And Jerry Jones still breathes…

I think where I differ is that I believe they absolutely could contend for a SB next season. Mostly because the NFL is so average by design, it doesn't take a lot to move up or down.

And I was thinking it would be harder (to take as a fan) to move Barkley than Baun. For Baun, if they could flip him, that's just a great investment--buy low, sell high.

For Barkley, I guess it would depend on the return but I feel like he's more valuable here than any picks he could yield.

Yeah, I just don’t see a Super Bowl team next year. They should certainly be back on the road of improvement, but the offensive line needs too much work. And the defensive line is not as good as we thought (or at least as good as I thought). To be below average, on both lines, takes more than one year to fix. Even if we want to call the defensive line above average, but just under performing… That’s still a problem.

Between Huff, Phillips (great debut then went downhill), and now Grennard, we clearly have an issue with evaluating scheme fits for an edge rusher.

Absurd analysis. Phillips was an ideal scheme fit and we would’ve re-signed him had Carolina not overpaid. Greenard has been injured all year. Huff was ass and was even more ass now that he got all he ever wanted in life, which was that 2nd contract.

In fairness to Phillips, i think some of his decline later in the year was due to the fact he didn’t get a bye week. Miami didn’t have their bye yet and the eagles already had theirs. So essentially he had played 17 straight weeks of football before the eagles finally gave him a week off in week 18.

I believe a lot of fans also think the returns will be higher than they actually would. We received a 2nd round pick for Jurgens because a team was desperate, he's still only 27, and we take most of the salary cap ramifications for this year and next. If we trade away more players with similar contracts, everything we're committed to regarding the cap accelerates to 2027. We're simply not going to be able to do that with big contracts. We can move guys like Ojomo, Hunt, Mitchell and DeJean and probably get a nice return without piling up dead cap, but then you're not exactly building for the future, you're just stocking up on picks with nothing to build around.

Nothing wrong with the talent and fit of Greenard.

But he is Earl Wolff in the mental part so that's an issue.

They had to play. The season was over with a loss. Should we save them for week 11 when the team could be 3-7? Barkley gave it everything he had. Greenard did nothing. On that tape from yesterday he never even laid a finger on a Cowboy holding the football. One of the worst displays of football you will ever see.

Should've signed Van Ginkel instead of Huff way back when for half the money... Howie, I'm here if you need the help.

I don’t now what to make of Greenard because he’s hurt, and frankly, everyone on defense is playing poorly this season except Quinyon really, so it might just be one of those years where everyone kinda looks like crap and we don’t understand why.

And maybe they should’ve re-signed Phillips, but you can blame their ridiculous policy of not signing guys during the season. In my view it’s been an objective negative.

It's very similar in that Huff had exactly one good season, and Greenard had 2. The good seasons were outliers, for whatever reasons. First his peck, now his ankle. Whatever, two 3rds and $100 million for one tackle thru half a season. It's just another bad signing. It's not personal.

Should have just signed Phillips.

Smith's game is going to age tremendously. He doesn't rely on speed or physicality, he's a technician. He'll be good well into his 30s, he deserves and has earned a third contract here more than Hurts does. You also just create another massive hole for yourself for no reason by trading him

first I don’t think they trade him unless getting a haul for him. Which is the reason why they wouldn’t remotely do it at this deadline. Cause I don’t see anybody giving them that considering the fact he had hamstring issue all year

Second less about him aging well and was more about where the Eagles realistically see them themselves when that extension starts at 30. I tend to think the eagles believe they could be a contender by 2028. So I don’t think they would trade him unless somebody drastically overpaid for him. Imo I don’t think anybody is untradable. It takes a team that’s willing to pay a price that Howie is willing to commit trading a guy for. said the same thing about Jalen Carter this off-season.

lastly I stated I don’t think it’s very likely because I think the Eagles believe they’re gonna be a contender by 2028. However, I wouldn’t entirely rule it out if the eagles believe they are in a prolonged rebuild. Which i really can’t see considering the amount of draft capital they have in 2027 and 2028
