1 losing season and some of y'all have lost your minds.

Q is a top corner in the league, and it's a premium position. We had garbage and mercenaries at corner for years. We saw other teams have rookie corners make impact in their first season and were mad that Howie couldn't find that.

Q has been legit since day 1. Trading him is crazy talk.

That great CB aint making all that difference right now. Mfing team got holes like swiss cheese. If you can turn him into something that fills those holes you do it. The lines are the moat premium positions. I dont care how good of a CB you are, if your d-line is trash than whats it matter

Not worth any kind of real investment. Inconsistent. And not a fit. Better than White. Ha. But this is who he is and why Seattle didn't bother. Josh Jobe played ahead of him. Another Howie mistake in not keeping Jobe for peanuts, that we never talk about.

Woolen is a bad fit and not a smart player. Only useful in press. Gonzo. Not even a doubt.

He's a bad fit mentally we agree, but from my perspective that's because he is giving up. Prior to this week he's looked like a good CB2. You won't get perfection, which is why they are CB2 vs CB1, but we were lucky to have him when Q was injured vs the Rams. What I don't like is it seems like he checked out like the rest of the defense. We haven't heard many complaints prior to this week for a reason. Again, not perfect, but he was a good CB2.

Yes. Good for a couple games doesn't make a season. This is the Seatttle version you are getting and why Josh Jobe is ahead of him. And that kind of attitude should scare you away. A new guy doing that nonetheless. We got to start assessing character in here with football players. And not blowing it off.

I always hated Fsngio type defenses and was bummed when they hired him because I saw them try it here with other coaches. I just didn’t like the passiveness etc

Then I had to eat major crow when he completely dominated the Chiefs in the Super Bowl.

Now I’m starting to not like him again 🤣

Character matters and they don't need a guy who checks out. He's a vast improvement over last year, though. People who think JAGs would be fine don't forget the dumpster fire we had most of 25. If he came cheap I'd be open to it, but only because I don't know where they'd find someone better. Rodgers will be a FA. I wouldn't mind him coming back. I'd prefer to sign one vs the draft so they can address edge, guard, and safety. The latter probably needs to be in FA as well.

Landry. lol He and Taylor were absolute liabilities in pass coverage. roll

My favorite memory of Landry is the MNF game (Vick's monster game) where he was talking ish pregame and then Desean and Vick hooked up for that bomb on the first play from scrimmage where Desean smoked him lol

I agree. He's better than what they've had the last couple of years. But it's like settling. He's alright but not investing much here.

It works if you have a Pass rush that can get there with four… And be able to stop the run with a light box. If you do not have those things, then it’s as bad as any other defense.

Feels like Jeff putting this out there is someone in that organization wanted him too or team stoutland wanting him too

If Stout was here, I wouldn't expect are current cast of OLmen to suddenly become people movers... but would've have expected the weekly mental errors in blitz pickup to have been pre-empted or at worst resolved much more quickly.

Turn him into something that fills holes....so you want to create a massive hole to fix another hole? They can add to the DL with a top 10 pick. They can fill a guard position in the 2nd round the same way they did when they got Cam and LD. A good OL coach can also turn a FA into a very decent player.

Trading Q would require multiple firsts and few others picks because he is one of the top 3 CBs in the league and only 25. They also have two firsts and two seconds already in 28. They don't need to be making holes to fix other ones. I don't see the logic in this thinking at all. They also don't have as many holes as you think.

RG, LG, TE that's it for offense

CB2, S, LB, edge

Six/seven positions isn't Swiss cheese.

How it started:

How it finished:

I don't know what Howie does here. He may eff it up. There is only 1 guy you keep and pay whatever he wants. That's Q. Outside of that, send me your best offers NFL. If the compensation is good enough, he will eat the cap like he did with AJ. Stated that idea way early in that saga. This is not a serious contender needing just a couple tweaks. What's the difference? They are bad with these guys and a little worse without them. Sometimes you need to take 2 steps backwards to go one step forward.

Eagles are 5.5 point road dogs against Washington.

They aren't THAT bad. Right?

Rodgers back for 5 million would be fine for me. They will have to draft someone, but they have other needs unless someone comes in FA at safety, LB, or TE. Can they afford LaPorta and should they pay him with the injury history? DG part II. Maybe Parkinson or Tremble? Branch and Bates are out there at safety and so is Brisker.

Rodgers cheap

Parkinson/Tremble

Brisker even though he's a box to help vs the run and maybe Blank back cheap if Vic stays.

Would take care of CB2, TE, and safety.

Only leaves RG, LG, Edge, and LB for the draft. Maybe they keep Trott cheap until they can find a better option and draft edge in the top 10. Use the 2nd on a guard and resign Steen. Not perfect and there are absolutely better moves to be made, but those aren't break the bank options and would still vastly improve the team IF they have a new HC worth a crap. Point is they can turn the team around pretty quickly.

I see your point. But how about if your lynch pins that you are counting are not that good? You are stuck with Greenard, Davis and Carter we will pray on. Hunt and Smith are not any game changers and probably stay for now as just okay rotational backups worth. Baun a year older. Makuba and Campbell are low IQ and look real bad out there if you are watching any recent film. Can't diagnose crap. That's a mental problem. Not physical. Cooper got happy being an influencer and Dallas Cowgirl stink is on him. Is too big now and is a step behind all the time. Reminds me of Blank last year, but I still like him tho. But no longer an automatic keeper. Been saying that for a few weeks now. Too many people are overrating this defense based on Fangio and some parts from a winner 2 years ago that has been raped of talent. Have you ever heard of a 1 hit wonder? Could be here. Too many assumptions here as opposed to what you are actually watching.

I would highly doubt Stoutland would come back. Even if it was Sirianni that caused the riff, Howie signed off on the change. If they want to replace Sirianni and get someone better, I also doubt they force coaches on any candidates who want to build their own staff.

After the Chip Kelly era, they have always had a role in who was hired as assistant coaches. I think the way it went with Nick is that he was allowed to bring over who he wanted but the organization kept certain coaches in place. I don't think they are going to just give carte blanche authority on it. I honestly am not sure they are going to make significant changes. I can see where they may give Nick another chance given the injuries. It's possible Howie isn't going to be free from scrutiny from Lurie. There are a lot of voices in that building. I think we can't presume to think Howie's is the one that always has Lurie's ear.

There’s an argument to be made that we are the worst team in the league right now.

Not the worst talent, just can’t get anything to work and the players have either gotten hurt, quit on this coaching staff, or are flat out underperforming.

Brisker, Blank, and Mukuba with Q, Rodgers, and Coop should give them a lot of options and maybe offset JC sucking. Trott isn't great but they can live with him for another year. Better options are out there but that's a quick and affordable way to improve things. There are other S and CB2 options.

A top 10 edge with a healthy Hunt and Smith should be improved. Greenard IF he can stay healthy is fine and got pressure vs the Jags. He is made of glass though. Davis looks lazy again. Carter with two hands should be better.

Carter has been injured since last year is all I hear. Which is why you don't extend him that early for unicorn type money. Make him earn it. But anyway. He could easily be overrated as well. If he's playing well he would be creating opportunities for Ojomo or Davis? There is zero pressure here from the DL. I dont see his impact here. I'm trusting my eyes here. Im sure the stats arent good either. He has had 1 dominant game in 7 games and been a matador in the running game as well. Davis and Carter should never ever get beat in the running game. That's been an eye opener in regards to effort. Been happening most of the year. There's some major cracks here in the foundation. That's all. We won't see a Superbowl quality defense here for quite awhile. It's leaking everywhere. Please read my long ass post on how far of a talent drop we actually have experienced. When you break it all down.

Been a fun month plus.

Depends what kind of coach they want to hire, if they do. That works when you bring in a new, under the radar hire whose happy to have the job. I can see the Eagles swinging the pendulum a bit in their process to get the guy they want rather then settle for a guy.
