Jeff's post on Stout was an awful lot of conjecture and little to no actual reporting. Im not sure he is talking to anyone.

I think he has pretty good sources. He is fairly well respected by the players and coaches.

Actually I heard he did. Howie told him since he posts 10,000 times a day on TATE he is an honorary assistant to the assistant GM.

Did he fire @HazletonEagle from the scouting department? There have been issues in the last 2 drafts.

yeah it is. You arent fixing that in an offseason. Offensive and and defensive lines need to be the priority in that order. There's still too many unknowns coaching wise too. This team is going to be in full blown rebuild either this offseason or next season. I was a lot more optimistic until Mondays game. It doesnt matter who your CBs are if you not getting pressure on the qb. Thats the defensive priority

They've had quick turnarounds before, the NFL is built for that.

In 2 years you'd complain they have garbage at corner. Trading Q is stupid.

Yep, he got fired for his constant comparisons of Tanner McKee to Tom Brady.

We are only supposed to believe it when it's unnamed, anonymous sources that trash the QB.

Yep, he just isn't respected by Les Bowen.

Sure he might. But if you read the way that was written it didn't look like he used any of his sources.

Next time politely ask us to hold off on discussing the team while you take your break and we will grant your request so you don't miss anything.

That is true. I just think he wouldn't write it if it were complete BS. I think he is saying it because someone wants him to start that narrative.

So, per Spotrac, Hurts contract was insured for $85 million for the years 2023-2026. Assuming that was evenly spread out at $21.25 million per year, and we were able to claim 12/17ths (for the games on IR missed), we should be entitled to ~70.5% or ~$15 million. Now, I want to be clear that this is based on a couple assumptions that I can't verify: (i) the insurance is evenly spread over all 4 years, and (ii) it would apply in this case. If that is correct, my understanding is the Eagles would get a cap credit of $15mm which would hit in 2027.

This doesn't reduce the dead cap from trading or cutting a player, it simply adds more cap space for the team the following year. Obviously would be there to help absorb the dead money, but could also be used to add other players.

The other large swing factor for 2027 cap space is do they get any money back from Lane - Lane was paid a $21.7 million option bonus that vested before week 1. If the Eagles asked for 14/17th of that back, that would be almost ~$18 million. But it's unclear what the Eagles will ask for - the Lions, as an example, were publicly dragged for making CJ repay part of his signing bonus. It will likely be some kind of a negotiation.

Here's a very high level look at 2027 cap for now. Lots of moving pieces. And bear in mind, only 36 players under contract and no extension for Q here.

Thank you so much. Very interesting.

While this season appears to be going to the dogs, the next two years+ should prove to be fascinating. I'm hoping for a master class in roster construction.

Well he whiffed on Carson Strong too.

It's funny because I saw an article the other day where he claimed the police wrongfully arrested him. It would be nice to know what happened leading up to that recording but it certainly looks like Bryant was the instigator of things getting physical and he was trying to intimidate that kid.

He was also acting like he was on something like coke or meth. All hyped up, sweaty, yelling and violent.

Seems like a dick.

I did no such thing. You have always been welcome to discuss whatever you choose and, like you and all others here, I am free to respond, or not, as I choose.
