I’ll be turning 60 years old in just over a month and my sister sent a family text a few days ago asking if anyone knew if our childhood home was still standing. I’ve thought about going back to see i

Perhaps we can interest the Bears in a lightly used Moro Ojomo…

I proposed a 3rd and Sam Roush a couple weeks ago.

That freestyling comment matches a lot of the Twitter tape guys' breakdowns of the defense, especially the line.

Now that Kmet is injured, not sure Roush is realistic.

Damn this year getting worse by the minute

It works if you have a Pass rush that can get there with four… And be able to stop the run with a light box. If you do not have those things, then it’s as bad as any other defense.

You’re definitely not wrong it just seems like making it harder on yourself on purpose.

Fine... Eagles can throw in Calcaterra, just don't twist Howie's arm.

Well, it's not great. If he retires for health reasons, I'm not sure how his $22 million of guaranteed 2027 comp would be treated. My guess is he still gets it since his retirement would be involuntary. That makes the dead money hit just under $106mm. Assuming we processed it after June 1, the 2027 dead cap would be ~$52.8 million, and the net cost would be $10.6 million (his current cap charge for 2027 is ~$42.1 million). The balance of ~$53 million would hit 2028.

Sounds like pain

The entire defense was jogging out there getting cardio. Except Q. Packed it in after the Jags game. Says a alot about your leadership on the team and how mentally weak they are. Besides actually making business decisions out there and playing a soft brand of football. The good news is that it helps our draft picks. Bad news, we may need to weed out some of this vermin. But probably can't.

Actually thought kmet was a trade target in the offseason. It would’ve saved the bears money and he’s relatively young.

That is interesting how the defense reacted. Did they give up on Vic like Dolphins did?

Rumblings starting to go around that say Josh Simmons may not play another game for the Chiefs and they may have gotten tired of his act out there. Not sure what he would cost in a trade. Very talented, but a bit of a nut.

Did the Bears counter?

I posted last year in IWTETG that we should've tried for Darnell Washington from the Steelers.

It's funny because I saw an article the other day where he claimed the police wrongfully arrested him. It would be nice to know what happened leading up to that recording but it certainly looks like Bryant was the instigator of things getting physical and he was trying to intimidate that kid.

I don't see him coming here, but have to think Tomlin will be sought after if he wants to get back into coaching.

Tomlin comes with the same problems as Sirianni.

Did you let Howie know?

Perfect for a place with coaching issues and a culture problem.

Turn him into something that fills holes....so you want to create a massive hole to fix another hole? They can add to the DL with a top 10 pick. They can fill a guard position in the 2nd round the same way they did when they got Cam and LD. A good OL coach can also turn a FA into a very decent player.

Trading Q would require multiple firsts and few others picks because he is one of the top 3 CBs in the league and only 25. They also have two firsts and two seconds already in 28. They don't need to be making holes to fix other ones. I don't see the logic in this thinking at all. They also don't have as many holes as you think.

RG, LG, TE that's it for offense

CB2, S, LB, edge

Six/seven positions isn't Swiss cheese.

yeah it is. You arent fixing that in an offseason. Offensive and and defensive lines need to be the priority in that order. There's still too many unknowns coaching wise too. This team is going to be in full blown rebuild either this offseason or next season. I was a lot more optimistic until Mondays game. It doesnt matter who your CBs are if you not getting pressure on the qb. Thats the defensive priority

Not going to happen. It's all just being made up by WIP.

Feels like Jeff putting this out there is someone in that organization wanted him too or team stoutland wanting him too

Jeff also had the story that Sirianni pushed Stoutland out of the building. My guess is he is talking to players on the o-line or Lane.

Actually I heard he did. Howie told him since he posts 10,000 times a day on TATE he is an honorary assistant to the assistant GM.

Jeff's post on Stout was an awful lot of conjecture and little to no actual reporting. Im not sure he is talking to anyone.
