We are going to use the hell out of the RB’s in this offense.Stashing a 2nd rd pick on IR will not go over well with this fan base/ market. I don't think Jenkins last. There's been rumblings of Ertz coming back. I think McKee is the odd man out at QB

McKee is a lot younger and more moldable than Howdy Doody.

The rock gut is used for bourbon marinades.

I didn’t realize that until today.Because Roger wanted to have an Australian game this year. The only way to do it would be week 1. So the Rams and 49ers open on Thursday. And they needed to give the Seahawks their well deserved season opening spotlight. So Wednesday for them. The problem is that once the toothpaste has been opened, it can’t be put back in the tube. So it’s probably gonna be a fixture in the schedule from here on in.

It prompts the following thoughts:(1) regarding Hurts, as the two AIs how having Patullo as the OC impacted Hurts’ production. Their answer should be interesting. My personal opinion is that Patullo removing Hurts from the designed run game effectively took a 12th Eagles Offense player off the field. Having one more functional player than the opposing Defense is a huge advantage. Patullo took that advantage off the field. Mannion has restored that effective 12th player. See what the AI programs think about that.(2) Ask the AI how much of an impact on players comes with the wear and tear of three extra games, over four extra weeks, followed by a four week shorter offseason to heal and recover.(3) The situation at backup QB is real, but is it meaningful. Ask the AI programs how many NFL teams have a backup QB capable of leading the team into the Playoffs and to either the Conference Championship Game or the SB. I will be surprised if the AI programs list even one.Again thank you for your extra effort. To be fair, AI doesn’t prove my point, your point, or anyone else’s. Best I could do for another perspective. People can plan and revel in atrocities on Reddit, but I guess they draw the line at posting that the Eagles upgraded their roster, considering that post got me instantly banned in nearly every team sub-Reddit that it was posted. As far as injuries are concerned, I just think it’s so hard to assume anything. 4 weeks helps, sure…and one wrong tweak while walking the dog can hurt. It’s so unpredictable that I think it’s hard to anticipate improvement across multiple oft-injured players thanks to 4 weeks.Backup qb…yea. Our backup qb situation is "fine.” Off topic at this point, but we all liked the Nick Foles signing in 2017, as he was remembered pretty fondly. What we dont all remember is that he (understandably) took some real heat in September 2017 around final roster time because he was yet again injured and missed most of camp. There were legit doubts if he could be relied on. So that’s the all time backup QB story…someone who was capable of leading the team to anll those things…and he didn’t look so hot in September. The only semi unique backup qb problem facing the Eagles is that their backups are very different types of QB’s than their starter….so the offense is going to change if Hurts goes down, more than just retracting into protecting a major downgrade. The Eagles aren’t the only team with that issue, but it’s something that can often be avoided. Having unproven underwhelming backup QBs is something that essentially cant be avoided.

There's been rumblings of Ertz coming back. I think McKee is the odd man out at QBHe also won't be able to practice if he is stashed on IR. Not sure how he is supposed to get better without serious practice time to develop. His biggest problem is the fact that he is a QB who only played TE for like 2 or 3 years and was never asked to be a blocker in college. He needs more practice time, experience, coaching, etc, not less.

Ertz could coach up the potential bust throughout the season if he does come backErtz coaching up Stowers doesn’t sound so bad.Ertz was a great case study of TE’s. His athleticism and speed were merely good. And pretty average when you really compare him to volume receiving only TE’s. But he was sort of the Devonta Smith of receiving TE’s. Routes, finding soft spots in zone, fluid athleticism, working defenders…elite.Ertz peaked as a semi-viable, relatively willing get-in-the-way blocker and generally was just bad at it the rest of the time. At times, his threat as a receiver really took a hit because teams just treated him as a big slot. If he were more effective as a blocker, it likely would have created more receiving mismatches. That’s a perspective that Stowers needs to learn. Until he can be viable as a blocker, he’s just a stiff big WR. Even as a pure receiver, his head is still too far underwater for him to make plays in the passing game. With blocking out of the equation for now, he’s going to have to get REALLY good as a receiver to justify being on the field.
Yesterday at 03:17 AM1 day I don't know if this team will be better or not, check back in two months.I do think the change in scheme was long over due, and while Stoutland was a great AC, he was also set in his ways and needed big, athletic (i.e. top picks) linemen to make it work.Watching Kendall, Lampkin, Bell and Morris, 5th, SFA, 3rd, 6th all look solid in preseason does demonstrate one advantage of the new system (I don't think Kuper is that great of an OC coach), it asks less of linemen so it's easier to "plug and play."And stretching the LOS opens up cutback lanes for big gains for backs.I have a lot of confidence in Hurts, give me intelligence and work ethic and a player only need average physical talent, there's a reason Tom Brady lasted to the 6th rd and it wasn't his 40 time and rocket arm. This scheme will provide Hurts with more open targets, and use RBs and TEs more instead of sending 4 deep on a regular basis and Hurts running for his life when they can't get open against the two deep. The two deep becoming standard in the NFL has changed how offenses need to approach, run the ball (because deep safeties mean 5+ yards everytime you break the LOS), quick short passes (make LBs cover and CBs tackle). Matriculate the ball downfield, and when the safeties start cheating up, hit them with the play action deep strike. The defense should be as good as last season, I don't think Dean is much of a loss, I think Trotter is a very similar player, and Campbell should be improved. Hunt is going to be a monster, a true 3-4 OLB, not just an edge rusher. The D-line looks solid, Young and Robinson look improved, pushing Hall back off the roster. Surprised they didn't keep Wilson as insurance on the PS. Safety depth is an issue, but look out for Wisniewski, he gives me Blankenship vibes, smart, physical safety who just needs time. Wisniewski and James-Newberry missing most of camp made it easier to get them to the PS.
