Oh it's a new season and the annual hype show of Josh Allen & the Buffalo Bills. Bills defense will eventually let them down, so still see them coming up short. It's been proven out over the last several years especially, you need a championship caliber defense to win it all. As usual, Allen and the Bills will fall flat on their faces come playoff time. And they are overusing the tush push. Probably take its toll eventually.

"All he does is win"

So placing him on another team means that they start winning by that logic

You talking about the overrated QBs? Or the posters in here who glaze said QBs while diminishing their own SB winning, SB MVP QB?

EVERYONE (don't feel like finding the Gary Oldman gif)

The funny thing is, Herbert and Hurts are pretty similar as passers since 2023. Herbert ratings - 93.2, 101.7, 94.1 - average 96.3. Hurts 89.1, 103.7, 98.5 - average 97.1. Herbert 7.3 YPA, Jalen 7.4. Herbert YPG 237, Jalen 207. Herbert passing TDs 69, Jalen 66. Herbert total INTs 23, Jalen 26.

I mean, Herbert is one of the worst playoff QBs in a long time. Not sure how it's debatable. These games are all fun - what if Dak/Herbert/Burrow were here. When people show you who they are, believe them.

Any thoughts to how the processes and culture here may be able to affect their performance?

Detailed, Tough, etc.

I have seen playoff Herbert. Even regular season Herbert, purely on passing, is basically inline with Hurts.

The Justin Herbert hype is beyond ridiculous and has been for a few years now.

I have zero concern in what he would do for another team. It's irrelevant. He's a talented QB in his own right and there are no flukes here. And not some function of a superteam etc BS that gets laid out there. He's time and time won games by himself here. Like last week for instance. Plain and simple, the guy is a winner when he's out on that field.

We'll never know, but the media loves to hype up Harbaugh as a great coach. You won't find a single national analyst who will rank Sirianni ahead of Harbaugh.

It's just so exhausting - anyone could win in Philadelphia with that team! OK, then why couldn't Dak win with a top 7 defense? The Chargers had the #1 scoring defense in 2024, and Herbert couldn't win.

Do I think Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow could win here - yeah, those are my 4 elite guys. But miss me with the Justin Herbert hype.

That was just a random team and QB. Try the same with Stafford, Burrow, etc

Imagine in 2005 or so, fans after decades of no Super Bowl win and disappointing let downs and criticism of McNabb, Reid, etc. and just being frustrated that your team can't get over the hump and win a Super Bowl. You want better drafting on defense, to have a more physical and tough defense, and to run the ball. You get tired of screaming at Andy to run the ball. And your QB smiles too much, dances, does silly things that make you feel embarrassed. He threw up in the Super Bowl, you just want a QB that shows up and doesn't choke in big moments.

And someone steps out of a time machine with a t-shirt from a Super Bowl win and tells you:

"Hang in there. We finally won two Super Bowls. In the first, we beat the Patriots with a backup QB and a ballsy trick play, it was epic. In the second, we had a dominant defense and killer run game that destroyed teams, and a QB that is clutch with ice in his veins. Not a huge passer but has some nice deep throws and big plays, makes plays with his legs and shows up huge in the playoffs. He wins Super Bowl MVP playing against the best QB in the league. The defense is dominant and the RB almost breaks the NFL rushing record."

The response: "2 Super Bowls?! Dominant defense and run game? A clutch winning QB? OMG that must be amazing I can't wait!"

Future fan: "Actually, it will be just as divisive as any era. A faction of fans will hate the QB because he doesn't put up fantasy stats in the pass game and he's too stoic and serious, so focused on winning he's all business. They'll dismiss him for being carried by defense and run game."

2005 fan: "You can't be serious."

Like I just said - Mahomes, Allen, Jackson and Burrow are my elite guys who I think clearly win here. Stafford - maybe, but the age concerns me.

Herbert, Dak, Baker, etc. - we know who they are and they don't win.

Anyway, leaving for airport in 30 for flight to Nashville.

Not a fan of teams using AI in real time to analyze tendencies. It's supposed to be a chess battle between coordinators not chess vs a computer.

There is nothing "real time” about that post. It only said they can load in what has been done up to that point and generate a report before the next series.

At this point in time, a coordinator cant accurately load in the data, wait for co pilot to come up with a response, call in the play, and get the players on the field before the clock expires.

You act like Herbert is playing on the Cleveland Browns. Nothing but excuses for his own poor play everytime he enters the post season. It's pathetic as are "fans" like you.

LOL. According to my survey and the Quinnipiac survey, which aligned well, he has about an 80%-85% approval rate. So, in some ways it's all overblown. There could be some racial motivations here, but who knows. There's literally only 5 to 7 posters here (feels like more, but they drill their erroneous points here on the daily) who are quintessential haters and refuse to take it on the chin on this one. He can win the next 5 Superbowls straight and cure cancer. It won't be good enough and they will look for his faults.

All Hurts does is win as you say. So shouldn't Chargers just win?

Or at you applying the team finally and saying Hurts would not be supported well with the Chargers

I'm surprised he's actually stayed as healthy as he has considering his play

Last year I mentioned I was getting 2004 Eagles vibes from them, where it was finally their year to get over the hump and make it to the big dance. Maybe I was a year too early.

I felt last year the issue that they had was Sean McDermott was at the point in time that Tony Dungy got to in Tampa bay. Where he had taken them as far as they can go. I don’t know how Joe Brady is going to be as a head coach, but I thought they needed a new voice and somebody that could come in there and potentially get them over the top. Because just running it back with McDermott had run its course.

I think buffalo‘s biggest issue will be how good is their defense. curious to see where they are midway point of the season and at the end of the season.

I think there has been a significant amount of bandwagon fans that have joined the fanbase throughout the past 10-15 years. I always find it interesting how a lot of people reminisce so fondly of the Michael Vick era from 2010. And act as if that was some all time great team that just couldn’t get over the hump. But in reality it’s just younger people who probably became a fan then and grew up with that team, which I get. But anyone old enough knows that team was never the real deal. Not even close to some of those McNabb teams.

Almost everyone in here remembers those 2000s McNabb/AR teams. Hell, I’ve been posting with a lot of those in here since 2006 in the old boards. And I think it’s hilarious that this current era of Eagles football under Sirianni is the absolute anti Reid/McNabb era.

It would be like going back to 2007 and telling someone "Tell me what you want the next 20 years of Eagles football to look like”. I want a coach who instills good culture within the locker room, I want a ferocious defense that prioritizes linebackers with an old-school type of coordinator that reminds me of Jim Johnson, I want "the big back” who can run the ball, I want a bullying offensive line, and I want a quarterback that doesn’t crap down his leg or literally puke in the big moments.

And we got all of that but some people still aren’t happy.

As you well know it takes a team. Unless you are Josh Allen. Jalen has won a superbowl for us where he played very well so it's not about that. He's probably the best Eagles quarterback of my lifetime ( honorable mention to Foles) (who knows what McNabb could have done with a good receiver or two).
