Frankly I hope he can last like Montana, at least until 35 and maybe longer.When he's gone, you'll find out how hard it is to find a SB caliber starting QB.

Carter is small and also has injury concerns. I like Dejean exactly where he's at with split duty (80/20 at CB). Also, Makuba holding up for 17 games remains a big question mark. We are one short here. At least!

So how does Epps getting injured in your hypothetical cause a degradation in slot coverage? I can understand belief that 2-deep coverage might suffer, but even there I don’t think Carter’s small stature will be a problem. He is a solid tackler. Size is nowhere near as much of a factor for 2-deep Safeties as it is for Boundary CBs or Nickel CBs.
